    Just being accurate! If you are working in Thailand and have a work permit/visa or a long permission to stay, like being married to a Thai or a 'retirement' visa you are obviously not a tourist! A tourist is a person who comes or goes to Thailand for a vacation and goes home! So calling it a 'tourist levy' is inaccurate!

    Does it apply to all foreigners or just foreign tourists? Most of the taxes in your linked article are for accommodation or hotel bills? So if you have house or condo you would not pay it?

    Agreed, but my point remains valid, any criminal can, if they have enough money, get hold of a gun in the UK or anywhere, obviously including Thailand, where it seems it s not so difficult?

    Not arguing with you at all, but my point is still valid, any criminal can get a gun in the UK, in the USA its the same but much easier!

    On the contrary, its common sense. Look at the UK where officially nobody can own a handgun, except the police, but gun crime happens, plus look at knife crime in London alone!

    Why can't the cops set up checkpoint/roadblocks on the highway and pull these morons over and possible arrest a few? They set up check point elsewhere to get pull over foreigners?
