Sounds like you sold everything in the UK. You still seem very interested in the housing market and interest rates in the UK. I think any uptick in inflation will be temporary. Why are you worried about inflation in the UK? Shouldn't you be more concerned about exchange rates and inflation in Thailand? I own, outright, 2 properties in the UK and the housing market is projected to continue to do very well. I wouldn't want to own anything in Thailand. It's that simple.

Phuket expected 100,000 mugs got 25,000 only. Watched a video of a motorbike ride around Phuket last week. Zombie apocalypse. Rows and rows of shuttered shops and bars. No tourists are coming to Thailand under their stupid named little schemes.

Your opinion. I'll keep my assets in the UK and travel/retire abroad on the income or capital appreciation. Retiring abroad means your totally at the mercy of immigration rules and currency fluctuations. Your a guest in Thailand on a 1 year rolling contract. Property ownership is another ball game altogether. Anyone with half a brain wouldn't sell a property in the UK with a market componding at 10% plus a year at the minute. If that 'doesn't work for some people' then their idiots.

Thailand reports declining COVID-19 cases for the 4th consecutive day

I don't care what you do, i couldn't care less, but the unvaccinated are jamming up the NHS because of the intensity and length of care, Covid patients require. I don't give a damn about your stupidity but if your wife, mother, father, sister, brother, daughter or son could have seen that GP quicker to diagnose or receive urgent treatment maybe it would have saved their life. Luckily, I won't be meeting you on my travels, because you won't be allowed on a plane. Personally, i wouldn't want you anywhere near me, Covid or not. -

2 jabs you don't die, no jabs, possibly get very sick, extended stay in hospital and body wrecked for years to come. What have you got to lose? -

Again Brian, the facts the 'happy chappies' don't want to accept, acknowledge or act upon. They still think a chicken pox party is a good idea. -

It's complete madness not to get a vaccine, not good sense. -

You are self diagnosising whether you had the virus. You don't know. https://www.bbc.com/news/stories-57866661 I hear these stories every day from acquaintances as well. You could get very sick if you don't get a vaccine. Very sick indeed. You will meet Mr Covid someday, it's just a case of having the odds in your favour. Someone asked me to make a prediction earlier, here's one, you won't be able to enter Thailand unless you have certifiable proof of vaccination for decades to come. Go and get a vaccine and don't take up a bed that could be used for someone else. -

I don't make predictions, i look at the facts and figures. Presented in black and white by reputable, independent scientists. Hoping and wishing for the best, is of no interest to a nasty respiratory virus. It's got nothing to do with doom and gloom but everything to do with reality. Sorry. -

Clueless. Another TVF expert who discards the global facts. Google what happened in Israel and to save you the effort, here's the uptodate data for the UK. https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/ Showing increasing hospitalisations and deaths, in a highly vaccinated population. Your bar ain't going to be having another high season. Full stop. Vaccines wane after 6 months in case you missed that titbit of news as well. -

If only it was that simple. Israel reimposed mask mandates within days of reopening and is now deploying booster shoots to calm the escalating situation. UK has rising hospitalisations and deaths. A Scottish health advisor was yesterday warning about the possibility of a reverse in lockdown restrictions easing if the situation continues. The vaccines wane after six months. Think of mice running on a wheel in a cage. -
Signs of improving COVID-19 situation in Thailand
GStewart70 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You mean the ones who take the time to source and print all the official Thai data from government and medical sources? Unfortunately, they don't seem to agree with your narrative and that makes them negative? Pointing out the total shambles of Thai government procurement and early distribution is not being negative, it's being factual. Have a friend in Roi Et, no one has been offered vaccines in her village and surround. Still. Many expats have left Thailand and the numbers would be even higher if the remainder hadn't burned their bridges in their native countries. You obviously believe it's 2 jabs and, hey presto, the borders open. Your deluded. It will be years, if at all, before any volume of tourists return, due to the restrictions that will be put upon them to gain entry. -
UK hospitalisations and deaths have been on the increase for a few weeks. https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/ Please also note the figure of 950,000 daily tests. How Thailand can draw any conclusions with 50,000 is beyond me. My local hospital was under extreme pressure yesterday and asked people to seek alternative routes to care if possible. With antivax nutters, people who can't gain immunity and vaccines waning there will still give be a large ongoing target for the virus to aim at. All countries worldwide will watch pressures on their health care systems. If covid starts overwhelming, then some restrictions maybe deployed. Hospitals must be allowed to continue their every day work not become covid central.
