  1. Your wasting your time he's not the brightest.
  2. Especially when the person you ask doesn't want to give you a straight honest answer.
  3. You keep deliberately missing the bit about forced quarantine in a hotel if you or other close people on your flight test positive for covid.
  4. Not so simple I'm afraid. If people don't return to Pattaya in numbers then it's going to become even more of a bankrupt sh1thole. PCR tests are part of the hoops you have to jump through. Except you get a 2 week incarcerated jail sentence as a possible bonus. Many will stay in Blighty and watch Pattaya turn into little Chinatown. In a few years you won't recognise the place.
  5. This gentleman is the reason the world is in such a mess. Logic, science, facts, reasoning and real world examples are just an inconvenient truth not to get in the way of the nutter narrative. Very frustrating.
  6. Funny, UK 30000 plus a day with a highly vaccinated population. Maybe Delta only weakens when it puts its foot down on the tarmac at BKK. Or maybe Thailand, India and other third world countries haven't a clue what's going on by restricting testing and lying through their teeth. I wonder which one it could be.
  7. Sorry pops, forgot you'd had yours already. Tad selfish to deprive others of a bit of fun. If you know what that is.
  8. Unfortunately Einstein, that basically spells curtains for all the bars and gogos that expats depend on. You could learn to speak mandarin, i suppose, to greet your new neighours.
  9. Wonderful. Back into the 7-11 shop for bog roll. Hope they didn't have diahrea!!!! What a great holiday. Did the f*ckwits not know that Bangkok's closed?
  10. What about the 2 weeks in a hospital if you fail or false positive on the pcr tests? What about if someone on the plane in close vicinity to you tests positive and your taken to hospital? Before covid, book flight night before, bring a bag and show passport at BKK. Post covid x,y,z plus of hastles and then roll the dice at BKK to see if your incarcerated for a fortnight. Do me a favour.
  11. I'm talking about the future. UK is still at 30000 plus cases a day. Schools go back next week. Yes, vaccination protects but still a small percentage of vaccinated ending up in hospital. Plus the non vaccinated. When do the vaccines wane? I hope none of this comes to pass but i don't think this is over by a long shot.
  12. Calm yourself. It doesn't matter what any of us think of the figures. The only thing that matters is the pressure on the Thai health care system. Just watching a BBC interview with a young guy who's had long covid for a year. Used to going skiing every year. A lot of stories like this. Any pressure on the Thai health care system and BKK will be shutdown in an instant. Apart from expats, business people or hardcore mongers very few will return to Thailand with that threat dangling over their heads.
  13. Wrong again. I own a detached house in suburbia. We don't pay council tax in my part of the UK, but we can punctuate sentences and form paragraphs. Don't know why your getting so aggressive, i decided to keep my assets in the UK. Not my fault if house prices and rents are going up. Just means those that didn't, can't afford to come back if they wanted to. Anyway, no point arguing, best to wait a year and then see if prices and rents have continued to rise. I'll post the facts next August. Have a nice day.
  14. About time. Soon that clown in New Zealand will hopefully get the message. Stuff it up them. Trashed AZ's name and now begging people to get it. Can't fix stupid.
  15. https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-021-00728-2 Highly unlikely herd immunity is going to be possible with delta. Would need to be 90% plus to succeed. Do these clowns not communicate with the countries and scientists that are doing ongoing surveillance and research? Meanwhile, they do a handful of tests daily to fiddle the figures.
  16. I have a funny feeling you are correct. Hi-So's don't give a fiddlers about the peasantry. Look at the EEC project in Rayong etc. Their Chinese masters, and other Asian nations, have so many infrastructure projects on the go. The people in Isaan, depending on working girl daughters and tuk tuk sons, are resilient but the gold and buffaloes are beginning to be sold. Thailand has been in lockdowns since April, does anyone really believe the flood gates are going to be opened even when case numbers fall? Any pressure on health care systems will result in a closing of the borders. Full stop and no notice given. Who will travel like this plus all the hoops. Very disappointing.
  17. If a tiny fraction of the top 1% of Thailand's wealth owners had been deployed in an organised and proactive way then Thailand would have been pretty much doubled jabbed months ago. As usual, Thailand thought they would be able to negotiate bargain basement prices when their was a global glut of vaccines. Then delta arrived. Blame those responsible, not people who have been saying the house has been on fire for nearly a year.
  18. Sorry. I own both properties. No mortgage. So i could afford to do anything, pretty much anywhere in the world, but have a funny feeling you may not be in the same position.
  19. You might want to find the articles from a leading doctor and Thailand's rural doctors society, freely available on the forum, that back up the theory your spouting nonsense. (again.)
  20. Professor Klutch will be along to tell us all this is fake news, so he can open his titty bar Rural doctors society said the same thing. They think their smart but everything will have to just close again.
  21. Another genius. Wrong. https://www.ft.com/content/a10e3f2f-31ca-4078-a2f0-04b881daaaeb Stamp duty didn't put house prices up Interest rates won't be rising anytime soon and house/rent price increases will settle at about 5% for the n xt few years. Good news for those of us who own property in the UK. Bad news for those that sold out and now cannot afford to return.
  22. Correct. Pattaya is just a giant washing machine for dirty money. Having said that i know of guys willing to have a punt on refurbs etc. Their seriously minted and can obviously right it off if needs be. They also have stated that before the April lockdowns, and borders still closed, the domestic trade just about paid their expenses.
  23. Professor Klutch is optimistic. See one of his posts above. Of course he was suggesting you buy a property in Pattaya, rather than rent at 5000 baht a month for a central avenue condo. Property in the UK is averaging 10% capital growth per annum. Of course, if you have burned your bridges and depending on the tourists to return and frequent your titty bar your in a world of trouble. The hotel money will be Sino-Thai and an investing timescale of 5 to 10 years. There was an article about it in Forbes. Bought a big site in Jomtein already. The market it's aimed at will be Asian, mainly Chinese, not farang. They will be an endangered species by then. Just like a lot of farang bar owners still waiting for the time machine to transport them back to Jan 2020.
