  1. You may try the Consumer Protection Center at Pattaya City Hall. It is all a matter of how much money the repair will cost vs how much time you are prepared

to dedicate to the issue (or if it is all a matter of principle, of course). Good luck

  2. In the past few days, I have had a very strong bad odor in my urine. Nobody is expected to pee perfume, but this is not the usual acid smell neither been provoked by any special food, like asparagus, that I am aware of. I have not had any alcohol for months, so that is also no a question. I drink a lot of water and a lot of apple juice. If the thing persists I will have to go to get it checked and hope it is nothing. Any suggestions about what it might be would be appreciated.

  3. Can the writing be more crap, please? I don't understand what is being said.

    I feel your pain.

I always thought that PDN used Google translate to change the Thai version to English but I have just read another story on their site, titled ‘Bisexual Rave Gang Hard Travel Bags Elicit Bankrupt In Pattaya’.

Just the headline makes me dizzy but the writing in the story realy baked my noodle and even Google translate does not mess up this much on this story.

I mean, <deleted> the story is about a pickpocket incident but they even manage to get the word ‘Paralympics’ into the story.

Sorry it is off topic, but worth reading

  4. Hello everybody,

I was hoping someone could help me with the following:

We are in Spain and try to get in contact with Fascino.

I understand it is quite a large group of 80 pharmacies, but we are unable to see their website an neither do we find an email address.

    Thanks for your help,

    Kind regards.

    www.fascino.co.th/fascino_shop.html

The page is in Thai, but at the bottom there is a "contact us" button in English.

  5. Someone explained to me once that when they do this promotions, where they

limit the amount per person, it is because they offer only a small amount of

product and they want as many people as possible to have the chance to

try it, in the hope that then they will become repeat customers at non-promotion

    prices.

In the OP case, it might have made sense that the second pair of normal glasses

did not get the free sunglasses, but to say that buying two pairs, no sunglasses

at all... well, Thai logic I guess rolleyes.gif

  6. True. I have located a lot of senior citizens both male and female wondering around streets completely naked, it even happened to my own grandmother and definitely not the way I always remembered her. She is now 87 and lives in a nursing home where she has to monitored as she continually strips off.

To call senior citizens who act in this way "idiots" is cruel and insensitive. Unfortunately for some it is simply part of the aging process.

I even think the headline is a little insensitive as is displaying him semi naked before the media for people to look at and laugh. I doubt that this elderly guy is high on drugs like the previous stories.

I definitely don't think anyone with a brain will laugh at this man. Very sad.

i understand what you say about publishing his picture, but in this case I think if the poor man is unable to remember who he is or where

he is staying, the picture may help someone who knows him to recognize him and hopefully be able to take care of him.

    Hope someone can help him.

  7. Why is it then that Bank staff, including tourist areas, and who have all been to Uni are so poor at communicating in English? Even basic banking terms seem to be beyond them and usually they have to call for the one person in the branch who can at least understand what is being said in English. Go outside and market staff, tuk tuk drivers and waitresses can all communicate, bank staff -forget it.

Because the bank staff will get their salary at the end of the month no matter what.

The market stall owners, tuk tuk drivers, waitresses and so on, have the incentive to learn

and use English to make more money.

I agree that 15 hours is almost nothing, but it may get a lot of these people motivated

to continue learning and improving after this course. A step in the right direction, just

over publicized as something it is not, as so often happens here.

  8. He was in jail in January and bragged on a wire tapped phone that he had bought his way out of jail!

    So says the FBI!

Being caught twice proves that he has limited brains. Bad enough to scam people but not to keep out of trouble. Megalomaniac personality probably, needs to brag about it.

That he bought his way out of jail - was it here or in Vietnam? - just one more example of corrupt justice.

  9. It's got to the point when anyone goes on the run, the only question any police force needs to ask is.......

" Whereabouts in Thailand is he".

    coffee1.gif

And it's left to the Thai police to deal with the lax immigrations and police services in the west who can't seem to control their citizens or their borders.

And what's so amusing is that some TV experts insist that putting money in Thai banks or investing in Thai securities isn't safe compared to the regulated and highly ethical western markets.

The Thai police is in no way dealing with foreign criminals other than once in a while. Thailand (and the Philippines) are paradise for criminals who most of the

time will be able to live undisturbed, the majority of times, if they are found, will be able to buy their way out of trouble (the jury is still out on that in this case)

and only very rarely they will end up being deported to wherever they committed their crimes to face justice.

Putting money in Thai banks at the moment isn't such a big risk because the banks themselves, but because of the unstable, incompetent and unpredictable government (and the same goes for the alternative to the government). That's why so many times it is said that Thailand is a wonderful place to live in, but don't tie up in the country any resources that you can't afford to lose if something was to happen one day.

Let's hope that the justice system this time works and all who are guilty pay for their crimes.

  10. From what he has said, I think the OP very softly and tactfully mentioned what we all have in mind, without being particularly intruding into something that was not really any of his business.

Most of us need to pee in the electric fence before we learn. Very few will get away from it if just told. In some cases, it may even be just a secluded fence.

Good luck to the tourist, who didn't seem to be the most stupid of guys if he had just taken a minivan rental for a few days anyway and kudos to the OP for having been patient enough to make the basic disclaimers in a nice way to someone who crossed your path that day

  11. Putting something down a storm drain is considered littering?

    yes,

and while you have every right to smoke in private and away from me this site may explain about cigarette buts in storm drains.

    http://www.preventcigarettelitter.org/why_it_matters/environment.html

You will get fined in many countries for it if caught and it has consequences.

    Thank you for the information.

I do not smoke, but I thought storm drains were fine to dispose of light items. paper tissues and things like that. There are so few right places to dispose of things that it very much invites to get rid of them in any way you can.

  12. A you paying a hefty electrical bill, or just get annoyed with the tv?? Get used to it.. Don't like it, leave thailand.. Simple.

Geez, I've seen plenty of Thai apology posts, but telling someone to "leave," make a major change in his life because he simply prefers not to listen to the boob tube all day in his own home, well ....

I think cwong was making a poor attempt at talking like a grown up!

  13. If you can remember what the ladyboy looked like, go and try to find him wherever you met him last time. It probably is his usual place of business.

If you find him, ask him to let you pay for a test for him (plus probably some tip).

Otherwise, you can try dialing phone numbers, using the given incomplete one, +1 more number from 0 to 9 in each position, starting from the end.

If the numbers you have are right, with just one missing in whatever position, 90 phone calls should do it (the first one has to be a 0). Although

I would love to see the faces of 89 people - if all the numbers exist - being asked if they are the katoey who blew a farang without condom a couple

of days ago biggrin.png . If he just gave you an imaginary number on purpose, then waste of time (still fun).

Being as worried as you seem to be, the first suggestion, going to his place of business, makes sense to me (but remember the protection this time!).

If you can't find him, don't let the worry/guilt overwhelm you, Wait your time and most likely you'll be able to see that you are fine.

  14. Are you at the "reddish" color stage or have they set in?

I never got to the weight level you had, but after a loss of around 25 kgs (and more to lose) I went through that process. The red lines look

really bad and I did try to find ways to get rid of them, but was advised to wait. Now, withish, can be seen, but for me not worth a surgery

    process.
