With the latest weekly report, Thailand since the start of 2024 has now seen 13,057 COVID hospitalizations and 93 official COVID deaths, according to the MoPH. Even while COVID hospitalizations have been spiking, Thailand's officially reported weekly COVID deaths had mostly remained in the single digits during 2024.

Old & unhealthy people die every day from respiratory disease, usually as one of  the last illness to kill them, especially males in TH.   Nothing new, get over it, and accept it.  Single digits in a week, that's not even news worthy.

They're old, past their expiration date ... that's nature.  Covid, flu, pneumonia ... old age,   Death & taxes get us all in the end.

TH 'all' deaths from/with covid ... 494 per million people.   Not even 0.05%   Get a Life, move on.

Phetchaburi.... Even in Robinson they have now in the weekends and holidays students who sing there... Very loud and out of tone ......

Phetchaburi ... hmm, restaurants with some ambiance, good luck with that.   Can't say I've spent a lot of time in the area, especially looking for anything more than a quick munch & moving on.

    Sorry can't help you

    The REALITY ...

     "December 8, 2018

Many people have reacted to the photo of a young boy bing used as a laborer on a construction site which they claim depicts how poverty in the country drives child labour"

  4. Not sure I'd say it's any worse than previous years.  It has seemed to shifted a bit, I think arriving later and staying till later in the year.  This year and last, as prior, seemed to rain at end of April and definitely by now, first week of May.

Always HOT ... DAMN HOT, till the rains arrive 😎

No prob, AC house to AC car, to AC shopping, restaurant or coffee shop.   35-40-45C, and we wouldn't change much for either temp.   Still get out and walk the dog, in the shade and just after sunset.

Last year the rains didn't show up down here / PKK till after the 20th of May.   As I remember talking to and telling my brother not to come this time of years.   He & wife finish & fly out of Nam tomorrow, and were going to be in Bangkok tomorrow.   For 3 days, then Chiang Mai 😲😲😲

So it would be crap pollution, or, if rains show up as forecast on the 9th, maybe rained out :cheesy:  Talk about rolling the dice with no chance of winning.

Cancelled that, thankfully, and rescheduled for Nov this year.  Should be real nice, and pollution hopefully hasn't started yet :coffee1:

In 8 years of living in Thailand I have never been in a restaurant with singer or live music in it.  Cockroaches, rats, open sewers, filthy tables - yes.  But not live music.

I have, and actually one of, if not my favorite restaurant in Udon Thani, and TH.   Unfortunately closed up long ago.   Had an excellent 'free' free-flow wine night, which had 'low key' quality band/singers, and nothing intrusive, and actually very welcome as background music, or watching them.

Excellent food to top it off 👍👍

That said, not a fan of any music when dining, unless very low volume, and hopefully, instrumental, soft jazz preferred.

maybe its a special kind of ice cream..

Breyers used to be a premium product back in the day.  But, sold out to the conglomerates, who really screwed it up.

    From Wiki ... "History:

    image.png.369853548e17dfa6a0c84569c3dda1c7.png

Breyer ice cream truck, c. 1915

In 1866, William A. Breyer began to produce and sell iced cream in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 👍 first from his home, and later via horse and wagon on the streets. Breyer's son Henry incorporated the business in 1908. The formerly independent Breyer Ice Cream Company was sold to the National Dairy Products Corporation/Sealtest in 1926.[3] National Dairy then changed its name to Kraftco in 1968, and Kraft by 1975. Kraft sold its ice cream brands to Unilever in 1993, while retaining the rights to the name for yogurt products.

    Ice cream[edit]

Prior to 2006,[5] Breyers was known for producing ice cream with a small number of all-natural ingredients.

In recent years,[when?] as part of cost-cutting measures since their move from Green Bay, Wisconsin, to Unilever's U.S. headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey,[6] Unilever has reformulated many of its flavors with nontraditional, additive ingredients, significantly changing the taste and texture of their desserts as a result." 😲

  7. Labor seems a bit high, not sure about the roof panels.   Not understanding the difficulty of getting panes on the roof.   We used BlueScope rolled steel, and they are extremely light.

Use the thickest insulated ones, along with rolls of ceiling insulation (R+37/38) and the ceiling (dry wall/gypsum board) is cool as cucumber, on the hottest days.

I've found the opposite, Lazada have given me an early refund twice before the seller even confirms. Very good, Shopee has a lot of work to do to catch up

Agree, and will use LAZ as first choice.  If using LAZMALL vendor, will refund item when picked up, before it even makes it back to the warehouse.   Just got an instant refund notice to 'LAZ Wallet' last week, on 2 parcels/3 items returned, before the driver made it out of the soi :coffee1:

  9. COD for us, avoids any issues ...

... not received (never happened though)

... damaged on arrive (happened once, but not obvious, refunded)

... no wait for refund, though TBH, easy enough

... not a problem being here, as no schedule

and tracking lets you know the day it will arrive

... one 'flash & kerry' driver knows us so well, that if not here, leaves parcel (s),

and rings/msg the wife, to transfer funds, if she missed the initial call.

They'd have to pay me to drive that butt ugly thing.

When people look at it driving past they ain't being envious- they are boggled that someone actually bought it.

I never care what people think, and certainly not trying to impress strangers.

Ugly ... subjective.  Way too cool and looks like something from 'Lost is Space'.

Me & Sniffy the Wonder Dog, cruising surfside ... oh yea.

Windows down, blasting "Who Let the Dogs Out" or "Fly Like and Eagle"

    ... smoking a doobie

    ROCK ON
