  1. Hey everyone, this is my situation: I want to buy a second hand car in the 500k - 1M baht range I have enough cash to pay for it but I'd rather get a low interest loan if possible I have regular income coming from abroad My Thai wife currently doesn't have a job but she has substantial savings Where could I get a better loan, at the dealership or at the bank? Any recommendations for banks? Will they accept my foreign income as proof of income? Will they accept my wife as a guarantor even though she doesn't have a job? I've also found an interesting loan that my bank offers (Bangkok Bank) called "Deposit Pledged Personal Loan" which would give me a low interest rate loan if I use my savings as collateral. Does anyone have experience with that type of loan? Cheers
  2. Another quick question: I have an appointment at CW next Tuesday at 8:30. The IO kept my queue number paper though. Does that mean I have to queue alongside everyone else or do I still get to skip the queue and go straight to the IO at 8:30?
  3. Thank you all for the advice. I hope I won't make the newbie mistakes next time... I finally found out what went wrong with my bank statement: I made a deposit of 400k two months ago via Wise which didn't show up as a FTT transfer on my bank book. I've then made another deposit of 400k later trying Wise again (this time with the correct option selected) and that didn't show as a FTT transfer either. The bank's letter only showed my recent deposit which was less than 2 months ago. My mistake was not properly checking the letter at CW before rushing to the immigration desk. You live, you learn...
  4. Thank you all for the helpful answers Quick question regarding the TM30: My landlord sent me a screenshot of the app and she didn't include the number of my TM6. Is that going to be an issue? Also is a printed out screenshot going to be accepted?
  5. I have 400k in my bank account for 2 months. Does it have to be 3 months? Thank you for the advice.
  6. I did have a statement from the bank but apparently it was the wrong one. I made the mistake of assuming they would know which one to give when I went to the Bangkok Bank at CW.
  7. But I did have 400k . I just didn't have the right letter from the bank and I'm trying to figure out which one is the right one.
  8. Yesterday I went to Chaeng Watthana to get the extension done and my application has not yet been accepted due to several documents missing ???? These are the document I brought with me: TM7 application with photo glued on Passport Copies of passport and all visa pages Updated Kor Ror 2 (signed by both in the middle) Copy of marriage certificate (signed by both in the middle) Copy of spouse’s house registration (tabien baan) Spouse's ID card + signed copy TM6 departure card + copy Photos (no selfies): Inside condo, outside of condo with house number visible Map to residence from the nearest main road or street Rental contract for condo Copy of ID card of landlord Copy of house deed from landlor Original bank book, showing 400'000 THB deposited 2 months ago Letter from the bank obtained on the same day (i assume it just confirmed that I had 400k in the bank) The following documents were seemingly not needed (at least the IO didn't take them): Wise receipt showing transfer to Deemoney (intermediary bank) Receipt from Deemoney showing that they received money from abroad and transferred it to my Bangkok Bank account Statement showing money going from European account to Wise This is the interesting part: These documents were missing according to the IO and I have to go again next week to CW: Original marriage certificate (the copies were taken by the IO but she also asked for the original) TM30 Report "Statement from the bank" I was surprised by the request for the original marriage certificate. I don't remember seeing that being asked in any report. I also have a few questions, I hope you can help me with: 1. The landlord has sent me a screenshot from the TM30 app. Is that going to be enough to satisfy the IO? 2. The IO refused to talk English to me and instead conversed in Thai with my wife. She, the IO was rather vague with what she meant by "Statement from the bank" but if I understand correctly it needs to be statement saying that I have received 400k on my bank account 2 months ago. When I went to CW, I went to the Bangkok Bank branch first asking for a bank book update and a letter confirming that I have the money in the bank. Foolishly I didn't ask my wife to check the letter and I just assumed it was the correct one. What needs to be in that letter specifically? What would I need to ask the bank? 3. I have my next appointment at CW at 8:30 in the morning. I won't have time to go to the Bangkok Bank downstairs because it also opens at 8:30. Is it okay if I go to a local branch the day prior? I've read some mixed reports on that potentially being an issue. Cheers
  9. Which vaccines would I get if register with Expatvac? I've heard it's mostly AZ - AZ or AZ - Pfizer for the two shots. I've also read about rumors that AZ stockpiles are running low and they are giving Sinovac again. How long does it take to get an appointment? (I'm in my late 30s, located in Bangkok) Cheers
  10. One thing I forgot to ask: Do I have to expect a house visit from an IO at some point after the application? I've also done some more digging and it looks like I need to ask my landlord for a copy of their house book to prove that they are the owner of the condo I'm renting. I hope my landlord will be able to provide that.
  11. Do you mean a letter from Bangkok Bank? Is it okay if that letter doesn't show that the funds came from abroad? I have the letter from DeeMoney (intermediary bank) showing that the funds came from abroad (via Vise). Yes correct, I have a non-o visa. Sorry I should've been more specific. Thank you for the list. Since the requirements can vary from office to office, do you know if there's anything specific for Chaeng Watthana? I'm mostly worried about needing witnesses and also asking my landlord for proof of ownership.
  12. I'm planning on going to CW to do a visa extension based on marriage. It's the first time I'm doing such an extension and I want to make sure I got all the right documents. This is what I have on my list after doing a bunch of research on this forum: 2x Application form TM7 (printed on both sides) 2 x Photos (4x6cm) glued on TM7 Passport Copies of passport and all visa pages Old, expired passport just in case Updated Kor Ror 2 original + copy (signed by both in the middle) Copy of marriage certificate (signed by both in the middle) Copy of spouse’s house registration (tabien baan) Spouse's ID card + signed copy TM6 departure card + copy Photos (no selfies): Wedding, inside condo, outside of condo with house number visible (all signed in the middle by both) Map to residence from the nearest main road or street Rental contract for condo Original bank book, showing 400'000 THB deposited 2 months ago Wise receipt showing transfer to Deemoney Receipt from Deemoney showing that they received money from abroad and transfered it to my Bangkok Bank account Statement showing money going from European account to Wise (just in case) Is there anything missing? I have also have a few additional questions: Should I just use an agent for peace of mind? Is an appointment necessary? If not, at what time should I arrive? Do I need a copy of the TM30? Do I need to bring a witness? Do I need proof of house ownership from the landlord from whom I'm renting my condo? If yes, what does that proof need to look like? And then I have very specific question regarding some trouble with a money transfer I used Wise for: I've sent 400'000 THB from my EU account to my Bangkok Bank account via Wise Wise used a local intermediary (DeeMoney) and I don't have the FTT code in my bank book I have obtain a letter from DeeMoney stating where the money came from (see my post in another thread) Question: Do I still need to get a letter from Bangkok Bank? Any advice is much appreciated. I will also make sure to report back once I'm done with the extension. Cheers
  13. Update: After a few days I have received the letter below from Dee Money. Apparently their company is called Sawsdeeshop which was a bit surprising since that doesn't sound like a bank and more like a souvenir shop... Anyway, in a few days I'm going to Chaeng Watthana for a 1-year marriage extension. I hope this will satisfy the IO. By the way, does anyone know if having the receipt from Wise in English will be fine? Or do I need to have it translated to Thai?
  14. This might be interesting or save some time: I have reached out to Dee Money (contact information found here: https://www.deemoney.com/branch/) and this is the reply I got (see attachment). It looks like providing these sorts of receipts is standard operating procedure for them.
