  1. I was at CW this week getting a NON-O visa. Checked in with the B-desk IO doing residence certificates. She told me when i get my first extension, i can use the receipt giving first 90-day report date to apply for a residence certificate.
  2. That's only about $2,000. Doesn't sound so bad compared to the cost in western countries. https://staminacomfort.com/how-much-does-a-hyperbaric-treatment-cost#toc-heading-1
  3. Thanks, but what is all this for? Is it required for the appointment, or an optional time saver? Does this replace the requirement to sit in a room playing with cellphone for an hour or so while videos are screened?
  4. @ThailandRyan About that DLT e-module of which you speak, there is no information on the site, just sign up and begin. What's the procedure? You do the module, take an online test, get a QR code to show at appointment time. Does that replace taking a test in person?
  5. I was at CW picking up my shiny new NON-O visa this afternoon. While downstairs to make copies, noticed the Bangkok Bank office was dark and taped off. An employee told me their server was down for repairs and would be back up in 3-4 days. The lady in the copy shop said there was a fire in the server room earlier. The Laksi Station branch is nearby for bank letters.
  6. Confirmed. Applied yesterday for NON-O with no lease or rental receipt in my name. My girlfriend went with me to sign her documents. Along with a letter stating I live in the apartment, she provided her lease and recent rent receipt and Thai ID card. We had a screenshot of the TM-30 registration, but the immigration lady did not ask for that. I was not asked for a hand-drawn map, either.
  7. Unless I'm mistaken, your re-entry permit is in your primary passport along with your extension.
  8. 7) You might want to pop over to Laos or Cambodia at a land border crossing.
  9. Reading all these forum threads, it seems there are TWO forms required when moving. The TM-30 to notify foreigner staying at a residence (we can do with Section 38 app), and the TM-28 to notify foreigner change of address (submitted at new immigration office). I could be mistaken.
  10. Thanks! I've made an early afternoon appointment to apply for a NON-O visa, and can get the bank papers done and make copies during lunch while immigration is closed.
  11. Need some bank info for the branch at Chang Wattana. I'll be visiting immigration next week, and could not find this information online. Is Bangkok Bank branch downstairs in the immigration building still in operation? Do they close for lunch?
  12. Thanks for that! I'm doing visa waiver to non-O conversion next week and first annual extension in Bangkok, and am planning to move to Korat by Xmas. We'll stop by Korat immigration when we arrive to file the TM-28 for change of residence, maybe take them a fruit basket to say hello. Doesn't seem like Korat immigration requires anything beyond what CW does, other than the 12-month statement. CW wants a rental receipt, which I'm told can be replaced with girlfriend's ID card and lease. We plan to visit Korat to set things up next month. I want to open bank accounts locally before my Bangkok-issued extension begins to avoid any potential unnecessary trips to Bangkok for stamped copies. From the posts above, seems advisable to set up a MeeTaiDai fixed account at Krungri specifically for immigration, and have savings accounts at Bangkok Bank. I'll be sending cash by Transferwise, and Bangkok Bank is one of three that can accept amounts over 50K baht.
  13. Does anyone know if immigration at Chang Wattana and the banks downstairs will be open July 13-15? July 13: Asalha Bucha July 14: Buddhist Lent Day July 15: Bridge Public Holiday https://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/?year=2022&country=68
  14. My girlfriend has her apartment logged into the Section 38 app. She registered me using the app, leaving the TM-6 and 'staying until date' blocks empty.
  15. TM-6 has been suspended. I tried on the airplane and at immigration to get a copy as insurance. Why? For when the brains decide to reinstate the form, forgetting about the hundreds or thousands of foreigners during the suspension window not getting a stamped TM-6 who maybe might could need to show one in the future for some reason at immigration.
  16. That's strange. Friday afternoon immigration asked for nothing. I handed over passport with boarding pass. Nice lady took a photo and fingerprints. Stamped in with visa waiver. That's all. I requested a TM-6 form but the nice lady said they were no longer required.
  17. What you say is True. However I was in the True sales office with my girlfriend. The salesdude did not speak much English, and my girlfriend's translating is not rated for technical jargon. I needed internet now, and went with the best option available now. Landlines now require 2-year commitment, this SIM only has 3-months required before we can cancel. When we move to the country in six months, I can take the unit with me and continue service uninterrupted.....also can keep the SIM or change to another. Don't recall what the speed was advertised as. Up/download speeds I listed were from on online speed test in this location at that specific time. It's fast enough for my needs. $20/month for internet won't break the bank. If I can save $5-10/month in the future, I'll do that after the move.
  18. Just as a follow-up, arrived in Thailand yesterday. Girlfriend and I went to True and picked up a "wireless broadband plus" desktop unit. Set up will have cables to our two computers and wifi as needed. Bought a SIM card with unlimited internet for 699/month. No long-term commitment, can cancel after three months. Speed test shows 13/17 mbps, good enough for Youtube videos and cartoon network.
  19. You're getting retirement extensions, which are supposed to be relatively simple. So Korat requires copies of passbook pages, guarantee letter showing account balance, AND 12-month statement? What else does Korat require in addition (beyond what is listed in the CW reports) that necessitates so much copying?
  20. I arrived yesterday. Flight attendant said they no longer hand out TM-30's and had none left on board. The immigration officer said they've been scrapped, and didn't have one for me to fill out. My girlfriend got her apartment on file on the Section 38 application. She was able to register me here in Bangkok, leaving the TM-6 line blank, and no ending date. We checked using the notification search, and my registration shows up in the database. Took screenshots throughout the process to print off and carry to immigration when applying for a non-O visa.
  21. The airline check-in clerk asked to see the vaccination certificate, immigration did not. There was a desk just before the immigration area entrance with a lady in NBC gear, and a sign stating passengers could be pulled aside for random health checks. Did not see anyone being interviewed as I passed by.
  22. Yes, but I read that it had been 'suspended.' I'm planning to apply for an O-visa in a few weeks, and was planning for the inevitable return to TM-6 forms, leaving me and a few hundred others without the needed form in the future. If there was a spare card available, and I could get a stamp, why not ask?
  23. No, it's just a booking confirmation with the airline with a 6-digit airline booking reference code. It's essentially the same as the itinerary I received from trip.com for my purchased tickets. With tickets issued, not just a confirmed booking, I also got an E-receipt. The onward tickets did not provide a receipt. As I understand it, this IS a 'real' booking, registered under my name. But just a booking. No actual tickets are issued until payment is made.
  24. I had hard copy, but showed the cellphone instead. It looked more authentic on the screen. The cellphone version was sufficient because she got confirmation from the airline website. Thai immigration did not ask about an onward ticket, in fact she didn't ask me anything. I did request a TM-6 on board the aircraft. The flight attendant said none were available. I got the same response from the immigration agent. I posted this because I haven't read any real-world experiences. Saw many posters recommending the service, but nobody had actually used it.
  25. Hello from Thailand! Woke up early the day of my first flight (Wednesday), worried about entrance requirements. So i logged into onwardtickets.com that has been recommended by other forum members. I booked a flight out three weeks after my arrival, valid for 48 hours, paid $16 by credit card. I got an email with a flight booking PDF after just a few minutes, and then five minutes later I logged onto the airline website using my last name and the reference number on the booking. Nice! They had a booking under my name. Just arrived in Thailand yesterday, transiting in Hong Kong. When getting my boarding pass, the agent had a checklist of required items. NO Thailand Pass required, and NO insurance requirement. She did want to see my vaccination certificate and my visa. With no visa, she asked (but did not ask to see) if I had 20 thousand baht or equivalent, and she asked to see my flight out of Thailand. I showed her the booking email PDF I downloaded to my cellphone, and then the big moment arrived. She logged onto the airline website to confirm and no problem. Done and dusted, got my boarding pass. Best $16 insurance I ever purchased.
