  1. Follow the Expressway until you get to the toll gates that stretch across the Expressway.

There are about 10 toll booths at this point but you will need to go through one of the first 3 on the left.

After going though the toll booths on the left you will be in a slip lane that runs parallel to the expressway that runs for about a kilometer and then exits onto the Bangna Trad road.

As you exit the expressway you will see a U-turn immediately at the bottom of the exit ramp, take the U-turn, which will put you on the correct side of the Bangna Trad.

After exiting the U-Turn drive about 100m and Central is on the left.

Thanks .Tony.This was the response I was hoping for.

  2. I will drive to Central Bang Na on Sunday morning.I think Sukhumwit and expressway is best.

Can anyone tell me where to exit expressway and where to turn right to get to Central?

  3. All this crap about 'we are all the same'.

Anyone who has traveled much will know this is fiction.

I remember reading that J.F.K had to resign from his favourite club when running for the presidency because it had no black membership.

    WHY?

In England I have no wish to enter a club frequented by blacks because I am not wanted and there would be nothing there to interest me.We think differently .

  4. I had the same problem as have a few of my neighbours.

The builders of this estate [18 years old] used iron elbows joints and the water has rusted them under the house.

I called ESC housing maintenance [sorry ,do not have card now] and they had to put new plastic pipes around the house and join to the taps that way. They did a reasonably tidy job but I had to check all of their work and show them where they were going wrong before glueing.

I cannot remember the cost but It was reasonable ..6 years ago.I have pipes shpoeing in the bathroom and around the outside but you can pay extra and they will cut the concrete by your walls and sink the pipes if required. if required.

  5. What year did the ridiculous OVER ONE WEEK of water throwing "tradition" start in Pattaya? I've been here a long time and it predates my time. So what year?

I well remember my first Songkran .in 1996.

I was new here and had never heard of it.I drove my car from Jomtien along Sukhumwit at 10 am heading to Lek hotel for breakfast.

I sat in traffic at Thepprasit rd for nearly an hour as a few pick ups decided to have a battle and nothing could pass them.

I got to Lek hotel at 12 30 but had no trouble with morons going into Lek.The girls in the Bank booth sprinkled me with a little water from small water pistols. My car was sprayed all the way home [anothe 2-3 hours] but no dhalk or ice chunks.

I believe it went on for just 3 days.

  6. Last year I was able to venture forth after 7.30 pm.

I think I will only go to Lotus after 10 pm this year.

and that is from the darkside.

For those that believe Songkran in Pattaya is a hoot I can only wonder at the rest of their lives

  7. Tropo.

I too have had problems with this 'service' .I had a document I needed for my visa go missing.

When checking with the embassy they gave me the EMS tracking number.

Naklua said they had 'carded' my registered letter but I weas home all day that day and nobody called or rang my bell.

The EMS was sent back to the embassy after 2 weeks and I had to make arrangements to collect by hand.

I called at Naklua but was met with a hostile person who would not believe me when I said the postman had NOT called.[my house is at the end of a very quiet street where nobody walks and is on a secure estate].

I have since been in touch with Bangkok [google]head post office who have tried to assist me.

3 months have gone by with a few e-mails from BKK but to date nothis from Naklua.

I have for the last 3 months left an old letter from UK in my post box to see if anyone could be stealing my mail.It is still there.

I also have problems with the delivery service from the new offic on Sukhumwit near the floating market.Mail from England is not delivered and evemn my telephone and electricity bil;ls are not regularly delivered

  8. Pity there is no notarial service.I posted my pension info [must be original] to the British Embassy in Bangkok. After 3 weeks I phoned the embassy and they said it had been posted EMS.

They gave me the tracking number which showed that it had gone to Banglaming ...Card at my address 23 January.5 days in Banglamung.Sent back to Prakhanong.and then on its way to Naklua and back to the embassy.

I was at home all day 23 January and no postman came to my home and I had been checking my mailbox daily since posting to the Emnassy.

I went to Banglamung where I saw the manager who checked the tracking then sent a man to see me who insisted that the postman HAD carded my mailbox.

I live in a secure village and my house is at the end of a soi where nobody walks.

I eventually collected my mail from an Embassy official at Pattaya remand prison where he was visiting.

The envelope from the Embassy was clearly addressed in black felt tip pen on a large brown packet.

I have been in touch with the head post office in Bangkok who asked for ,and received, a photo of the envelope from the embassy.

They have been very prompt [bangkok] and informed me 2 weeks ago that they have given all relevant details to Banglamung office who have yet to get in touch with me .
