  1. No it doesn't. You could work on a non-O for example, as long as you got the work permit.
  2. Bangkok immigration have always just been the most strict and being the head office, they won't bend strings for agents. Agents have used offices outside of Bangkok for years.
  3. Stay away from Bangkok Buddy as someone else recommended. Absolute worst service of my life and almost cost me me stay here. To my knowledge there aren't any who can use Bangkok immigration or bend the rules using Bangkok immigration.
  4. Sounds ok, some schools can convert you to an ed visa in country but many cannot and will require you to go to Laos.
  5. What Visa are you looking for? Some agents can't help with a marriage Visa for example.
  6. There are several distribution companies specializing in supplying foreign ingredients to such restaurants. Which ones they use will depend on the city. In Bangkok for example there is 3sixtyfood or Global Food Products to name a couple.
  7. It's all semantics. Of course there is a marriage visa, that's just not the official name. There is no "12 month extension to stay with your wife" either by that logic.
  8. Very sad news, next to impossible to find someone on this forum as polite, civil and as willing to spread their knowledge to help others as he was.
  9. Have you even been to Vietnam? You're the one making incorrect posts by denying it. When you leave any airport in the country of Vietnam going to Thailand, they want proof of an onwards ticket unless you have a LONG TERM visa. Seems like you just like to be argumentative for the fun of it.
  10. Even with a tourist visa. when traveling from Vietnam to Thailand, they require proof of an onwards flight for pretty much all airlines. Only exception is with long term Visas.
  11. There is no limit set in stone but immigration officers don't like people using them as an alternative to a proper long term visa. You might just be fine but from March to August is quite a while. Also unrelated but make sure you have an onwards ticket to show vietnam before you board your flight back to Thailand for either the duration of your tourist visa, or duration of a visa exempt entry, they are very strict and won't let you board without showing proof.
  12. I wouldn't carry your contract with you since it shows you 100% aren't a tourist if you are entering exempt. Other than that I see no issues.
  13. Yeah via Suvarnabhumi. After the volunteer visa, I had 2 covid extensions then a marriage visa with a re-entry permit.
  14. I did, but only after switching to a new visa. 0 questions asked, just let in like normal.
  15. I'm probably going to try and get a work permit fairly soon to make things more legitimate for the foreseeable future. I don't want to get a work permit through applying for a job, rather through forming my own (or 49% of my own) company. Has anyone gone through the process recently and have any guidance for minimizing the amount of Thai employees required to hire? I understand I need to form a company with a Thai business partner then show 2 million baht registered capital for 1 work permit. Any contacts who could deal with the whole process would be appreciated. If this is the wrong section, please feel free to move, but It related somewhat to a work permit.
  16. From Tak in this instance, if I was to travel with old and new passport, with a reentry permit on the old passport, would I completely lose the extension of stay I had and have to return visa exempt or with whatever new type of Visa I got before returning, or you think the immigration at airport would make a note in new passport?
  17. Thanks for the correction, better to get the terminology correct, question still stands though.
  18. I'd like to renew my passport fairly soon, my Non-O spousal Visa was assisted by an agent, but they are saying they don't think they can transfer the Visa to a new passport for me. Anyone have experience in the situation on what my options are? Agent just says they don't think it's possible but it leaves me in a situation where I can't really exit the country and come back on my current passport.
  19. I'd say the complete opposite in my situation, went to 3 different Kasikorns in malls, all denied me. Went to one in the middle of nowhere, they didn't speak English so had no idea what the documents I handed them were, it was just a copy of documents related to my Ed visa, no official letter from the school which is required to open an account. Sometimes the less they know, the better. If they could read it, I'd have never been able to open the account.
  20. STV or Ed visa would be the two best options for a 1 year stay if you don't qualify for a retirement Visa. Neither really extendable past that though unless you use an agent for a new Ed visa. If you were hinting as Visa runs to Laos (or other close by countries) for a year, no chance. They will deny you entry on probably 2nd or third trip now, they are a lot more strict with it recently.
  21. Agent was talking rubbish about the marriage Visa, there are so many who will do it without proof of funds currently for about 30-35k, but you will need a bank account
