Who are we? The forum members have no voice in it. In fact, they don't have any voice anywhere in the World except in this forum. Keep going venting your frustration for your one year at a time living legally in a foreign country. Now you understand why Thai immigration will never allow even married to Thai persons more than a year at a time. They don't want to hear their voices and confine their voices to this forum only.

Convert O-A to O at Jomtien. MAJOR GLITCH

Are they pricing themselves out? I think 5K should suffice when the person already has money deposited in a bank and all the paper works are in order. -

By bangladeshi community? I think they have a similar dish called chicken butter. I don't like chicken masala. Except chicken tandoori, I don't like any Indian chicken recipes. And Indian chicken curries are no no for me. Recently discovered a Bangladeshi restaurant in Sukhumvit soi 11, Bangkok. Tried a few Bangladeshi dishes with a friend (an Indian American) and I liked them. Specially the fish curry and mutton curry. He said it reminded him of his mother's cooking. Pattaya has too many Indian restaurants. -

Who is going to seize them? There are routine flights from Moscow to India, China, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and a few other countries.

My GF drove her car for almost 10-years before she got her own. I looked at the pic and said this is not you. She laughed and said "mai suai". A person told me real Thai ID sells for 30K but one must be fluent in reading/writing Thai and looks like a Thai. In early 80s I remember US Green Cards were available for 3k USD and SS card (mostly of dead people) for $300. You could get everything like DL, file tax returns and get refunds etc. using a purchased GC and SS card. Only thing one could not do was leave the country and enter again. (and most probably claim SS benefits). I had two friends in college (one Algerian and another from Pakistan who had the purchased green cards.

My sugar babies (both in Pattaya and Bangkok) all worked in bars (where else they would work unlike Western countries' sugar babies who may be college students or aspiring models) and they said police come multiple times in a year year and they do check age and work status of each girl. May be brown envelope is used if found illegal workers or underage girls.

They do care about climate change. But they (specially India and China) don't want to bend to the demands/dictates of Western countries who have laid their economic foundations after looting and pillaging asian and african countries and polluted the earth since industrial revolution. They will go their own ways that don't hinder their progress. More percentage Indian/Chinese are aware of climate change and its impact than Americans.

Returning after two years away
Onerak replied to Alidiver's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
Always better to have some one to clean it at least once a month. My condo in Pattaya is cleaned by my GF once a month (Sometimes she uses a professional cleaner). But she does not clean my motor cycle parked in covered parking garage. It was covered with dust, tires were flat and I could not start it. Called the shop guy he came and picked it up fixed everything and gave it a wash. Total 1000 baht. This was after 10 months outside Thailand. -
They can convert ruble to Indian rupees/Chinese yuan and then back to dollars if needed. Chinese/Indian payments system is still working using ruble. Most payments have changed from swift to Chinese/Indian payment systems. China/India/Brazil/Russia are setting up an alternate payment system to Swift. Recently Saudi Arabia shown interest in that also. Chinese yuan is now 5th largest trading currency followed by dollar, Euro, Yen, and pound. The western sanctions have yet to put a dent in Russian economy and the bread line that many political leaders in the West hoped for did not happen.

Questions related to retirement visa.
Onerak replied to Hmunker's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Single entry as the name suggest is for single entry only. You can't do multiple entry/exits. You will lose your permission to stay date. Your permission to date ends as soon as you leave the country without a reentry permit. It's 1000 baht per entry. Unless you're certain of leaving and entering multiple times during your permission to stay, it is better to get a single entry for 1,000. You can always get one at the airport and it is pretty quick. -

Rental Exit Strategy
Onerak replied to Padthaigoong's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
I have breached many rental contract in my two decades living/travelling to Thailand. In all cases, I accepted the loss of deposit. Cleared all rents due. For electricity and water, I would estimate an average and pay it. Inform the landlord I am leaving and he can keep the deposit. Never had any problem. Except in one case when I had abscond without paying two months rent. That is another story for another day.
