  1. Not convinced. Any cards asking for money to get it and then using Visa/MC network to authenticate has to pay a fee to Visa/MC. Visa/MC is not altruist organizations to enable any cards to access their network for free. Also, what kind of fraud protection it provides? All my cards provide 100% fraud protection. One call and it will take the charges off from my cards and I have done it multiple times.
  2. It's very comfortable to have access to a million plus (dollar) in credit.
  3. I have not quite comprehended the benefits of using a Wise Card. I am from the USA and never use any debit card for ATM withdrawal, though I have two that does not charge (or refunds) any foreign ATM withdrawal fees. Have plenty of credit cards (more than 100) and a few don't charge any foreign transaction fees. A few even gives me cash back for all foreign transactions. I don't understand the advantages of using a wise card. Can somebody explain to me please that benefits of using a Wise debit card.
  4. Let me confess my experience with ladyboys. I had a few lady acquaintances in Nana plaza and I used to drink local whiskey with them occasionally. Many times I give them 100 bahts and a few times I invited them to eat with me. One time I was drunk and high on those illegal stuff you buy from African peddlers and picked up a ladyboy from outside Thermae. As we went to the room, she asked for money upfront and immediately my suspicion rose. I told her to show me her pu... but she refused and kept on demanding for money before undressing. I gave her 200 baht and told her to leave. She became hostile and told me to she would beat me up if I ever goto Nana. I told her go ahead and she could do whatever she wanted and if she won't leave immediately I will call hotel security and picked up the phone. Then she calmed down and asked me for 200 baht. I said no you had your chance but did not take it. Eventually I gave her 100 baht and she left. Note: I never keep anything valuable lying around in my room. This was in early days of smartphones and people had those famous Nokia phones.
  5. I am not sure if agents can change it to O and then get an extension. They can get an extension of an O-A without health insurance.
  6. $200 USD. What a lucky guy. If I win it, I have to pay lots of sugar babies that I promised I would give them if I win a lottery. But no luck yet.
  7. Still they will be entering in droves because the lure of finding a bride in brothels fronting as bars are irresistible.

Hire somebody. Labor is so cheap in Thailand.
  10. I don't know the details but Australia, New Zealand, and Canada have point system for immigration visa. India dominates in all countries in scoring points. Of course their first preference is USA but unfortunately USA does not have have any point system otherwise Indian would have taken it over.
  11. I read plenty of books (mostly science fiction now) but not as much as when I was young. I use my tablet. In fact I use tablet only for watching movies, videos and reading books. Nothing else. Have not read a paper books in ages. There are still lots of paper books in my basement in the USA and I try to throw them as much as I could in the summer every year.
  12. A re-entry permit keep your permission to stay date valid and allows you to enter when you leave the country. It has nothing to do with your visa.
  13. OMG visa exempt entry will be a riot in Thailand. Thailand knows how to deal with people of various country. The same reason Thailand does not give long-term residency to retirees and "wife visa" holders.
  14. It just boggles my mind that people don't have any concept of a visa and permission to stay. Also not able to read the visa stickers and interpret it. A single entry is a single entry. It can be used to enter multiple times.
  15. That is another reason I like Pattaya. If you have a TM30 attached to your passport, I find it is super easy to get extension and they don't ask any questions at all. I go to the office next to immigration with my passport, they do all the paper works, fill up the form, take pics etc. etc. for meagre 200 baht and then I go to the counter and take a number and wait in line. Within 30 minutes my extension is done. I'm talking about extension to a tourist visa/visa exempt entry. I did extension for retirement in 2020/22 for 15K using an agent and went to the immigration office to take a pic only for five minutes.
  16. If a 65-year old overstayer is not able to show his money due baht not performing to his expectations when he moved to Thailand, there are other ways to fulfill that requirement. All the overstayers report I have read are mostly perpetual overstayers who think staying in Thailand is their god given privilege.
  17. Overstay and on the op of that threaten somebody with a picture of a gun and in possession of illicit drugs. Great way to invite scrutiny and get exposed.
  18. If you have your own condo (or a long-lease condo), you must file a TM-30 for the first time and anytime after you change your passport. They will attach the TM-30 in your passport and that proves your residence. In fact, I would stay it is easy for condo owners to do in/out without worrying about any of those non-sense. I have a condo in Pattaya and now live in Thailand for 6-month on Tourist visas, visa exempt entries etc. And extended a few times without any issue. This is in Jomtien immigration.
  19. I can read phone messages if look at the phone a little away from the eyes. But my eye doctors said not to read for a prolonged time like that. Doctors said my nearsightedness has improved considerably over the last five years and now though I can drive without glasses during the day, I prefer to drive with glasses. May be got used to it. I try to avoid driving at night.
  20. I don't carry three pairs because I don't use computer everywhere and drive everywhere. I keep my driving glass in the car, computer glass at my home desk. And hardly carry my reading glass everywhere. Never had any problem. Doing this for a few years. If anything changes will adapt accordingly.
  21. Never had problems. One was a Thai owner and the other was a Chinese.
  22. Same for me. I tried a progressive but it did not like it. So opted for a glass for computer work (bought in Thailand for 5K Baht, reimbursed by my insurance 50% because out of network) , one for reading bought online for $20 (Out of pocket) and one for driving (transition lenses bought in the USA paid by my vision insurance).
