All very well, apart from the fact that a majority of the Thai population voted for the Taxin family.........
They did not actually.
48.41% voted for
51.59 % voted against
And the current figures likely to be even less favourable to the Thaksin cabal.

Advice that I took onboard from the Transvaal Snake Farm many moons ago.
1. Identify the snake. If you can catch or kill it, take it to the hospital with you. This will assist the doctor in applying the proper treatment although my guess is that in many cases the type of venom should be self evident.
2. Remain calm at all times and move as little as possible. Worry and panic accelerates the heartbeat and neurotoxic venoms carried mainly by the cobra family, which accelerates the distribution of the venom which attacks the nervous system. Victims go into a coma, their lungs ease to function and so they die, painlessly I understand. Some varieties of cobras can send a spray of venom aiming for the eyes. The eyes should be washed out with copious supplies of water or milk. A common practice amongst African natives was to lie the victim on the ground and pee into his eyes. Whatever turns you on.
Haemotoxic venoms mainly carried by the viper family attack the red cells in blood so remaining still slows down the spread of the toxin. Contemporary advice says do not apply a tourniquet as this heightens the chance of amputation of an affected limb i.e. localising the venom increases damage to issue. Victims experience severe pain increasing the possibility of a heart attack although internal bleeding is a more likely cause of death.
Some snake species carry a mixture of the two venom types.
I accept that scientific has moved on somewhat so better and more effective treatment may now be applied.
Snakes have very primary nervous systems and may still be active even though they are dead. A parallel would be headless chickens running around. They do not have antibodies in their blood and are very delicate. A case occurred in RSA where a black mamba was fed a live white mouse. The mouse ran over to the snake and bit it before retiring to a corner of the containing tank. In the morning the snake was found to be dead while the mouse was full of the joys of spring.

Being from America, I thought "whistle blowers" were people divulging wrong doings of government officials. What a surprise to read they are talking about people blowing whistles. Go figure.
I am sure that, being an American, you are smart enough to see that is exactly what these people are doing. They are literally blowing the whistle on all the scams, cover-ups, thefts, connivance and lies, among other things, that this sham of a government is responsible for over the last two years.
But, then, you knew that didn't you?
I wouldn't count on it. He's from Arkansas.

Several of the tourists have been rushed to a Bangkok clinic.
I woulda rushed them to a proper hospital.
There are at last 3 hospitals in Sriracha and more in Pattaya. Why subject the injured to at least an hours journey to BKK?

Anybody who blows a whistle at another is an unethical person.
So he buys a whistle?

YL. have you ever learned anything from history?
Leo Amery echoed Oliver Cromwell's words on dissolving the Long Parliament: "You have sat here too long for any good you are doing. Depart, I say, and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!

Mt. Everest comes to mind.
I expect the price of crampons and other mountaineering gear to rise sharply. Maybe the Sherpas of Tibet see an opportunity to make a few shekels here.

"He noted that tens of thousands of tourists flew into the country via Suvarnabhumi Airport yesterday - 13 per cent over the same day last year."
So that's alright then. However I do not see any relevance to the news item.
Hopefully the thousands are all football supporters from all corners of Europe who don't want to miss being involved in a big dust up.They wouldn't want to miss out on a 'fix' of anarchy

It's a shame, the USA and Germany already there and hard working, while the Thais still planing.
The planning should have been done ages ago. I suppose it is a bit much to expect any Thai to look further ahead than the end of his nose, or where the next meal, or bribe, is coming from. Pro activism and contingency planning couldn't get a visa I assume.

And showing a photo of that dinosaur on the OP is supposed to be reassuring?
It is not about the dinosaur or the telephone service. It is about keeping the fugitive criminal in the forefront of Thai attention. Bloody megalomaniac.

A friend in the travel business told me that the big push next year is to get the hordes of Russians to Hua Hin. He said that Phuket is overloaded and the Russians are liking Hua Hin.
I'm sure that they'll raise the tone of the place. NOT.

Glad to see that the UK didn't join in this cake and ass party. Was this another hub to be set up in LOS? I expect that the Thai input was to set up a committee. Given the Thai response to the tsunami I doubt that they had anything remotely sensible to offer.

And so now we can all be certain that no more boats will be overloaded because Pattaya's finest will be monitoring all passenger manifests and count safety vests on each and every vessel. TIT.
Perchance to dream.

Let the army take care of the thugs.
Not a runner I suspect but the thought of a tank running down the road mangling parked motorbikes gives me a nice arm feeling inside. Expect to see the sidewalk become a designated parking area.

no one pointing at him.......
All four look a bit dodgy. Does the 'snout' get a reward or is a blind eye turned towards his misdemeanors?

TAT: 16 countries issue travel warnings
BANGKOK, 12 November 2013 (NNT) – According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), 16 countries have already issued travel warnings, urging their people to avoid demonstration sites in Thailand.
In wake of the current political situation in Thailand, 16 countries worldwide have warned their people traveling in Thailand, for their own safety, not to go near or pass through any of the demonstration sites in the kingdom.
The countries include England, Norway, Germany, Hungary, Japan, Taiwan, Canada, Australia, Israel, Brazil, Singapore, Belgium, Spain, Netherlands, France, and Sweden.
According to TAT Governor Surapol Svetasreni, there has been no report from the Association of Thai Travel Agents of any hotel cancellations in spite of the warnings, and the ongoing protests do not seem to have any effect on the country’s tourism industry. He, however, admitted if the situation dragged on, the impact would be difficult to assess.
As for the situation in the disputed territory between Thailand and Cambodia, the governor said the TAT would keep a close watch on the impact from the November 11's ruling of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), adding that the atmosphere along the border line is still calm.

So Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland think it is not necessary to issue a warning? Well done the National News Bureau of Thailand. Finger on the pulse as usual. NOT.
BTW is Geography on the Thai education curriculum?

'If a lot of people strike who will work?'
Well, PM ... noone!, That's the concept.
Well actually, your statement would only be correct if Yingluck had said If all the people strike, who will work.
She didn't, you're wrong but no doubt you and your "likees" feel quite smug about it.
If that is the best defence of Yingluck you can come up with then your position, like Yingluck's, is untenable. If you are in any way concerned for this vacuous woman's welfare, you would wish that she be released from her torment and be allowed to continue with her life's work, viz shopping.

"I live in Thailand and don't need a strike or strife no matter how much you internet warriors want one."
Self interest at work. Many of we 'Internet warriors' are sickened by the lies and sleight of hand of Thaksin and his cabal and the sufferings of the proletariat. If the tumbrils rolled through the streets of Krung Thep I. for one. would not raise a protest.

This lot make Screaming Lord Sutch appear quite normal. PTP, the Thai version of the Monster Raving Loony Party.

You're feeling poorly. Would you prefer to be treated by a medical student? That said, some of the licenced van drivers are a menace but then some Thai doctors are a positive danger to their patients.

I don't know how much knowledge you have about Islam, but i can tell you, you are not a Muslim cuz of the religion of your fathers, you are a Muslim cuz you accepted it, no one can force you. This Muslim women are real Muslim? because they should know that in Islam is forbidden to a Muslim getting marry with a non-Muslim.
What is a REAL muslim? if you are born into a muslim family, your religion is decided at birth; you have no choice in the matter.
Should you decide you wish to marry a non-muslim, the penalty id death.
should you wish to renounce your religion, the penalty is death, though there is a case in Malaysia where a muslim-born girl raised by buddhists was allowed to renounce the muslim faith two years after she died..
Cannot force you? Tell that to all the young people who are kept down by their muslim fathers claiming his right to decide what they shall believe. You sir, are talking <deleted>, you have absolutely no idea about the ongoing surpression in muslim families.
Not too different from life in Farangland. Little infant whose only concern is when they next get onto a nipple and their nappie changed is carted off to church, splashed with water and mumbo jumbo words uttered thus making them a member of a Christian community. Choice has little, if anything, to do with it..

Interesting logic ....
Muslim woman marries a Buddiest Thai and then moves to the NE. + She not likes the NE so she leaves him and moves back south = ABANDONED MUSLIM WOMAN
Impeccable Thai logic. Most Thai ladies are tragedy Queens. I chatted with one who professed that she had a broken heart. Her farang had gone home 7 years previously!!

What ever next? Yingluck vows never to revisit Parliament? Thai politicians make more vows than Tommy Manville (married 13 time to 11 different women). Can you imagine having 11 mothers in law? Fate worse than death.
