  1. Anybody driving a car can kill someone, not only those who are drunk. I , personally, would never drive drunk if I felt that being drunk makes me a worse driver. Still, I agree that it is irresponsible behavior and this is why I avoid doing so for many years already.
  2. Was stopped while driving drunk back in the end of 2017. Was offered a “solution package” for 20k baht. Made a counteroffer of 10k and it was immediately accepted. The next morning I read about possible consequences, which I luckily avoided and which included things like prison time and deportation, and decided to never drive drunk again.
  3. Actually , this was an intended meaning of my original post. Don’t fight against common sense using fake constructions like ‘critical thinking’. Being suspicious about obvious things has nothing to do with the critical thinking. It is more about (very popular these days) conspiracy mentality (something on the opposite side of real thinking).
  4. I would rephrase it: Engaging in a debate AGAINST common sense using fabricated "critical thinking" is a futile endeavor.
  5. Engaging in a debate with common sense using fabricated "critical thinking" is a futile endeavor. It is evident that one will inevitably lose such a battle. If individuals were to be held accountable for every nonsensical statement they make (like, pay one dollar for every word of nonsense) - there would be no discussions in this thread.
  6. We will continue to wait indefinitely for a comprehensive explanation and genuine footage. It's been four days, yet neither the brothers nor their family have stepped forward to provide any justification for their actions. Not a single argument has surfaced to alleviate their situation. It's highly likely that the brothers will face significant time in a Thai prison. Any speculation about secret videos or undisclosed facts won't absolve them of their foolish behavior.
  7. 10 times more xenophobic than Thailand. Double pricing for foreigners everywhere.
  8. This “expert” decision will change their lives forever. Being an expert in anything does not mean you have a license to turn off your brain and common sense.
  9. Please, change your opinion on how one is supposed to behave when confronted by an armed police officer on duty. Change it until it is too late. The Thai cop deserves a reward from these imbeciles’ family. If this happened in almost any other country of the world - these two would be on their way back to NZ… in coffins.
  10. So, if the police officer draws gun (and even shots in the air) the justifiable course of action is to attack him and disarm? Are you serious?
  11. Was not here during Thaksin time. Is it true that the atmosphere was xenophobic in Thailand at those time? What were the signs of it?
  12. He was a policeman on duty! He has a right to draw a firearm at any moment he considers it necessary! Did not you know it? P.S. Shake down? Give me all your money, it’s a robbery! Hehehe
  13. I am still waiting for anybody of those “whole-picturers” to present a plausible version which could justify the Kiwis’ behavior even in the slightest. The version that the Thai cop was a serial killer who got an idea to kill 2 innocent bikers on a sunny Phuket day is definitely not one of those.
  14. “The most idiotic tourist act in Thailand 2024” award definitely goes to New Zealand this year and its duo of 36 y.o. brothers (a.k.a “boys”). Sorry, Swiss guys, I know you did your best, but not this year. While beating the Thai women in Thailand was a very creative and brave idea, it is nothing compared to attacking the local policeman and disarming (!!!) him. That unbelievable disarming part by itself would deserve a Nobel prize in Stupidity (if one only existed).
  15. The only one explanation I can think of: they did not know he was a policeman. Just some weirdo guy in the Thai national costume and with a gun. Don’t think the judge will buy this, though.
  16. I would invite both parents to Thailand and then jail them too. Somebody should be made responsible for the upbringing of these two imbeciles.
  17. The worst type of gambling propaganda... The chances of winning are worse than in most other types of gambling.
  18. 1.8 mln baht or 112 mln baht? Quite a difference
  19. Thanks to God - no! Imagine what they could do to any of us. Raging maniacs!
  20. No, it means consuming a lot of spirits, almost all the time.
  21. I heard that in New Zealand they give an award to anybody attacking a policeman and especially to those who manage to get the policeman's weapon during the attack. Vastly different legal system!
