As stated above, you are exaggerating. An IDP is just a formality, you don't have to pass any exam to get it. My home country license is given to me for life. Its not like I can drive for 3 years with my IDP and then I forget how to drive.

I could have it translated in Pattaya but I need to get a stamp on it from the French Embassy. I think we have to look at this from two different angles: one is from the legal angle and the other is from the moral angle. From the legal approach it's nobody's business what two consenting people do between themselves. There isn't one country on earth that forbids this. From the moral perspective it becomes very complicated and dependent on many factors. Western countries decided to become secular, i.e. not to be governed by the morals of a religion. So moral became a simple legal matter. In Thailand it is the same, there is no legal or moral law against it. So those who disapprove this, what are they going to do? Rolling their eyes around?

Well, you could compare it to a passenger in a car wearing his seat-belt. Is their an international law for it or is it country dependent.

How many percentage of chance you have that it works?
