  1. Thanks for the tip, had a great English for 165. They also have great selection of cakes.
  2. I just fell into the same trap and now Im reading a little more profoundly the label on the back: Ingredients: Mulberry-Roselle Knight Black Horse Fruit Wine Definitely, you have to carry a loop to buy red wine in Thailand. And they have the audacity to put "Dry Red" on the front.
  3. Yes, for fast results you have to fast as much as it takes to get rid of the fat first and then you could start what I suggested.
  4. Im trying to find a balance between having fun and staying in shape. Lets say one day you eat and drink as much as you please and the other day you fast. But probably one day wouldn't be enough to repair the damage. How much days would it take? 2 or 3 days of fasting in your opinions?
  5. As stated above, you are exaggerating. An IDP is just a formality, you don't have to pass any exam to get it. My home country license is given to me for life. Its not like I can drive for 3 years with my IDP and then I forget how to drive.
  6. Ah, ok, thought those bottles were 1 liter bottles. Damn, that's why my tank wasn't filled up. ????
  7. How could locals sell gas for 30 baht in whisky bottles when it costs 38 baht at the gas station?
  8. I could have it translated in Pattaya but I need to get a stamp on it from the French Embassy. Its just over done, because to begin with, it has to be an officially approved translator by the Thai government, then why do they want, above it all, a stamp from the French Embassy? When it is already official. Just a bunch of bureaucracy. Its very hard because its on the cover of the booklet. If you scrape of the last number of the year they will see it right away. Plus you have to modify both, the year of issuing and the year of expiration because they know its valid for 3 years. Unfortunately they are not that stupid at the DLT. ???? I asked two and both of them told me that the IDP need to be valid or need translation from the Embassy.
  9. I tried it, it didn't work. She spotted it right away that the IDP was expired. She told me to translate the license and she can do it but it just too much hassle for me to go to Bangkok only for this. The whole thing cost me about a 1000 baht, with the fees and the taxi to go to the transportation office. Doesn't matter, I gained experience, you can only win if you try ...
  10. I think we have to look at this from two different angles: one is from the legal angle and the other is from the moral angle. From the legal approach it's nobody's business what two consenting people do between themselves. There isn't one country on earth that forbids this. From the moral perspective it becomes very complicated and dependent on many factors. Western countries decided to become secular, i.e. not to be governed by the morals of a religion. So moral became a simple legal matter. In Thailand it is the same, there is no legal or moral law against it. So those who disapprove this, what are they going to do? Rolling their eyes around?
  11. Well, you could compare it to a passenger in a car wearing his seat-belt. Is their an international law for it or is it country dependent.
  12. How many percentage of chance you have that it works?
  13. They fined me 500 on an other occasion, license photo on phone, and went and paid it at the Police Station, so it should be the official rate.
  14. Who pays the fine when you take a moto taxi and you don't wear a helmet? You or the driver? Also are these moto taxi drivers know how to evade police stops, or they wont get stopped by the police?
  15. Its not exactly the same thing. You dont have to pass any test to get your IDP. Its just a formality. Your license issued in your country is valid for a life time.
  16. Issued in France, not in English, Motorcycle license included, expired in January 2022.
  17. Phew, lucky me, I didnt have a passport on me. So that's why they don't let you to take your bike until you paid the fine usually.
  18. Only for a month now but I didnt know this thanks for the info.
  19. Is this really true? Even if you have a valid international permit they will make up something?
  20. Sorry, yes from my country, not Thai license.
  21. Yep, thats a very good advice. Ill try to get a Thai license.
  22. Yes. What do you mean pending? They gave it back to me. So if I dont go to the police station, what will happen? Can they hit me with a higher fine at the airport when I leave?
  23. Hi All, Yesterday there was a police stop in Jomtien, I got pulled over and I showed my international driving license that expired a few month. I also showed him my normal driving license. I would need some help to understand what he could tell me because I'm not sure. He wrote me a fine and told to go to the police to pay it but at the same time he told me there is no problem I can drive my motorbike. Also he didn't put the amount to pay on the notice, provided its a fine, so maybe, I hope, that I just have to report and not pay any fine. (Probably wishful thinking.) The "other" option box is ticked on the notice and something is written there in Thai. Maybe somebody could read it? Thank you!
  24. Well, yeah, its well known, they are everywhere in Thailand. If you want to avoid them you should move to a tall building, they cannot or dont like to fly high. Im on the 9th floor and only heard one today after a week. Window always open. It probably moved up in the staircase or in somebody's errands bags.
