All reports so far indicate that the girl wasn't wearing a bikini; she was clothed. Perhaps the PM might also mention that some Thai men have a 'right to rape' mentality, from the poorest most uneducated to the idiots at Durex to the more powerful pooyais like the previous Tourism Minister the late Chumpol who also chose to blame the (Dutch) rape and bashing victim in Krabi.

Has anyone on say facebook reading a Thai typed comment, and pressed the translate to English button ??? it is complete and utter near non readable rubbish that does not even equate to English---example Bing. Anything in this land translated is never near the original, how on earth can posters here on TVF reply correctly.

So these guys presented themselves to the Deputy Interior Minister claiming to be some of the Men in Black ...yet he apparently made no attempt to have them arrested or entrapped or somehow detained !! That sounds beyond stupid to me.

We've had the same security guys for years. Sober and reliable. I think I'll look at them with a little more appreciation in future.

Happened to my kid coming home from a friends, four guys on motorbikes grabbed his backpack he wouldn't let go so they kicked the shit out of him, and took the bag. The police refused to make a report or even check the CCTV. Not surprising as it was the Bukalow police and they are not reknowned for protecting or serving their community.

Despite thoroughly enjoying happy hour every Friday night with P Prayuth for the past few months and agreeing with him on many points I also find myself questioning the wisdom of effectively suspending the right of 60+ million people to think and discourse freely and to determine their own destiny. However my wife finds him and his candidness a breath of fresh air and I admit I too enjoy that we are both now a little more equal, in that we are both unable to vote. So party on power brokers enjoy your moments of glory...as if you won't, cos down here the song remains the same. I came for the beach I stayed for the smiles.

Way to go mama. Scamming is a national pursuit and you excel at it

Thank god for DNA . Try it in Thailand. Cue mass exodus from the jails.

The Navy is suing a journalist for quoting Rueters. He may go to jail. The head of navy is the new education minister. Draw your own conclusions but the phrase ' dead and buried ' comes to mind when conjecturing about the immediate future of education.

I try to use only the ATM in my building, the security guys sit next to it 24/7. Online banking worries me. I got hacked a few years ago. Took a LOT of phone calls, police reports, the efforts of one very good cop who tracked down the culprits in Singpapore , then finally it took the threat of publicity for the bank to act, they tried every conceivable angle to avoid covering my losses. Lesson learned : always read the fine print : especially the rules and conditions ! Like the one that says 'the bank can change it's rules and conditions at any time and is not obliged to inform customers of said changes'.

Double post sorry, but I still think the 'government' and immigration system has shot itself in the foot, leg and goolies by not creating a new visa for farang who can make ample amounts of moolah on the internet legally, it is easily done in many different ways, and it takes away no jobs from the oh so precious Thai work force, and the money goes straight into the economy. Why have they not addressed this properly?
Because verifying income and calculating tax payments would be very hard, if not impossible, to verify.
All governments demand taxes.. Thailand would be no different.
You said it LL.
These nomads want to dodge taxes. That's all there is to it.
'nuff said

You don't know all these 'nomads' and you sure don't speak for them or me or anyone else. Some people just want to be able to work online without the risk of breaking any laws and are more than happy to pay taxes here. If I'm doing some editing or writing work it's not taking work off a Thai, if I'm on a beach down south as I work it's because that's where I choose to be and thanks to technology I am able to do so. It's got nothing to do with not paying taxes or paying taxes .<deleted>.

Khun Vichai your' companies activities have already trashed the reputation of the Thung Kha company , it's subsidiaries and it's hi so board of directors. You've clearly chosen to cut corners ,stuff up the locals food and water resources, you've caused and denied culpability for widespread hitherto unknown health problems amongst the locals..... And you're worried about protecting your companies' reputation ? You're priorities as a businessman might be right but they also make you a first class ##%#*+#.

What a waste of time and resources. All those people puffing away in Soi 3 and 3/1 aren't harming anyone except themselves.

Meth and marijuana have zero to do with each other : one messes with your mind and body, the other cures a multitude of diseases. ( yes there is a large body of science to back that up ) . Read research and learn my friend... and still there are people on here who suggest that there is nothing wrong with "soft" drug usage.
Such soft drugs usage can easily lead addicts to more potent alternatives, ultimately ending in incidents like this.
I firmly believe that all "recreational" drugs, and more dangerous alternatives should remain banned and pushers jailed for long periods for supplying such dangerous substances...!- 11

Well they weren't born this way. The culture sucks them in and we all know about peer pressure as teenagers. I've met plenty of kids like this here thru my own kids ..they do things in groups that they wouldn't do as individuals. I can't see any prospect of change here in the current top down climate. There are programs in the states that I've seen and participated in that take kids from jails and juvenile homes for a 10 day on site program where kids get some pretty good insights into how why and what got them where they are. The results reduced recidivism about 80 - 90% and actually turned a lot of kids lives around. Give kids a better alternative to the endless mindless tribal gang mentality and they'll take it if it's presented in a way that makes sense to them. Not all but many of them will.- 4

Confusing. The cops now say that the blood on the pants turned out to be dirt stains. ( Bangkok Post). So why are they still including it in their premature speculations
