    we do not get many years at school learning Thai, unlike Thai kids who get years of English lessons, but can only say a few words.

    Had a row with a ladyboy on the bus once, he turned round when the conductor could not understand Parkland- our stop and started kicking off. Said I was showing her up by saying it wrong, apparently the correct way to pronounce it according to him was Barkland, he might have been right due to all the dogs there!

    Idiotic waste of time, there is nothing special about dogs, less so for soi dogs with broken limbs from being a traffic hazard. They should have put it down.

    Never been a fan of life, never really enjoyed it or been any good at it. So just putting up with it gets increasingly more difficult after 70 with accumulated aches and pains, waiting for a terminal illness to turn up, which i hope is before 80 and too decrepit to look after myself.

    It has been reported, even on the BBC, that most of those arriving on boats are Albanians, a country they cannot claim asylum from.

    Illegal immigrants, by default criminals, not migrants. Should be the same as here- put them in a detention centre until they pay the fare back, they paid thousands for the boat ride after all.

    Aged 69 riding a bike in the wet in a country where one rider is killed every 30 mins, not very wise is it. Never ridden a bike and never will, death traps all too often here.

    Knew somebody interested in two expensive Nokia phone models years ago, went to a shop at central Bang Na. Asking the salesman what the differences were the answer was sir, this black one other one red one!

    Probably charging under the going rate other shops are charging. Barber told me years ago he had to put his prices up when everyone else did, or they would make him.

    If you can't negotiate the inconsistencies and the odd frustration of an immigration office you really have no chance living here long term. First time I tried to get an extension I was told the office did not really do them and to get one in Bkk, though I lived in Samut Prakan and was at the right place, the officer hated foreigners, as I found out on here. Persistence and patience is what you need, not wasting 8k on having your hand held.

    I get tired of watching this sort of stuff, tik tok and YT are full of it. At least he did not go on about street food, full moon parties and feeding soi dogs. He did say living the dream though ????

    Stay in a hotel near the office then, cheaper than an agent, you have either been unlucky, look odd or annoyed people. How can you be 14 hours away from CW round trip in Bkk? I used to leave at 6am got back about 3pm and that was as far as possible from CW

    why pay an agent for a legit extension that takes a few minutes and costs 1.900 baht?
