  1. Found on 2 sites with same photos, very interesting, THANKS
  2. That depends. Run it through a filter, as what ever is in it, will be absorbed when cooking pasta or rice. If I'm not going to drink it, I prefer not to eat it.
  3. Also 20+ years operating bicycles, scooter, motorcycles, cars and also lucky. Amazing how lucky one can be when operating responsibly, almost within law, and using simple defensive driving skills.
  4. Classic marketing model for every charity. Sadly turns most people off from any charity. I'll never donate to any, as most have silly administration cost, and are simply businesses hiding behind 'charity, non profit' loopholes.
  5. Drinking water, ARO (Makro) 6L jugs @ 29 baht now, up over 10% from last month. Cooking, tap via 3 stage filter. To the OP, never use tap for aquariums. Fish really don't care for chlorinated water, especially the inconsistent levels that you'll find in Thai's tap water.
  6. A good learning exercise for the students. They'll have to await the next pandemic, and surely there will be many, as a very profitable exercise.
  7. Chula is a little late to the party. Many, inclusive, feel the virus threat has passed. Why bother with trials that will be obsolete when finished.
  8. I've lived rural, my preference, in walled and unwalled home. Walled for privacy, not security, as never locked, along with doors of home, unlocked half the time. No bars on windows. Also lived in rentals, suburban metro areas, close neighbors, and same unsecured home. Never a concern about safety, and surprisingly, no thefts. Never did the gated community thing. Too expensive and not a fan of neighbors, or more accurately, neighbors not a fan of me ???? So I avoid the environment. I find Thailand very safe, and as safe as my living environments in the USA, before coming here. Living in slum (economically depressed) areas mostly, to upscale areas, later on, before switching countries. Never a safety issue, anywhere.
  9. I got to read something, while sipping morning coffee. It's a quick read though, and hard to comment on history that we can't change. Yesterday, today, tomorrow, next week, someone will get killed, and an injustice will be committed against someone. Oh well, welcome to the human race. Dwelling on negatives isn't healthy, and doesn't help anyone.
  10. Not enough time in the day, for me to be concerned about the issues of the world or people I don't know. I just don't care. Living is much more enjoyable without thinking about such silliness. We're all on borrowed time, I prefer not to waste it on silly discussions.
  11. Where is this even implied ? 2 youngins out for a trek, without doing much research. Simply wanted an out and about before school starts sometime next week. People always try to make something out of nothing.
  12. When clarified, as the definition for 'vaccine' and 'herd immunity' and 'immunity' have been change since 2019. WHO & CDC have been changing the definiton to fit theirs's and big pharm's agenda. Simple google search will point that out, but better hurry, as info on the internet worldwide seems to be getting scrubbed. MSM, allowed, as already pointed out, and why these discussions are useless. One side is only allowed to be presented. Sales are up ! Peace Out
  13. It's history, and been done to death already. All useless, as those convicted aren't getting it overturned. The best chance is a royal pardon, and finishing time in Myanmar, and I don't see that happening, or much better place to be.
  14. So now it's suspicious deaths, not murders. Narrative changes more than OJ's stories. Peace out
  15. It's hard to follow and reply to these threads, as the definition to vaccine, and immunity (herd immunity) seem to have changed.
  16. events - surely scapegoats going to jail instead of the real criminals is worldwide. now 8 - so you don't know, and simply throw out 12, since is sounds better died because - didn't say 'they' had no common sense as you missed "not victim blaming", and I was generalizing what not to do on holiday. Since they did end up dead, guess they could have used better judgement that night, but since nobody knows what happen, that's a guess also. Can't comment on the rest of your reply, as you imply you know who killed them. I guess we'll have to endure threads like this after every new 'shockumentary' that is shown on the idiot box.
  17. 1 % not in Thailand, less than 0.0441% population 66,171,439 (31Dec2021) covid deaths - 29,146 = 0.0441 % 66,171,439 X 0.0441 % = 29,181 1 % would be a major exaggeration for Thailand (23 X)
  18. 2 people haven't been murdered on a beach, anywhere else. You're actually going to stick with that. A dozen. I must have missed a lot of those in the news. Not victim blaming, but 10s of million of tourist using common sense have returned home from Thailand safe & sound. Get stupid drunk, drink with strangers, maybe have sex late at night on a beach, then maybe those might not be the best holiday decisions. Just a thought.
  19. Don't ignore the fact, tourist get murdered in most countries. People are not different in Thailand than the rest of the world. Good & Evil everywhere.
  20. My reply was to the quoted BritMan reply, not to the thread title or the issue of trans in sports. Pointing out a comedic agreement. To the thread topic, trans vs women, I don't agree with. Not a sports fan, but men competing against women in women designated sports just isn't right, for the obvious reasons. If you have testes, you have a testosterone and muscular advantage. I little I do read, men seem to be dominating the women sports they are competing in. If a 'menstuating' woman wants to compete against men, good luck. Last interview I saw with Jenner, Jenner was against trans competing against women. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=jenner+against+trans+sport

I'm partial to TGM, from freezer case. Offer a Cumberland, Spicy & Herb/Italian
  22. I would definitely replace them. Too easy, especially now, and inexpensive. Be crazy not to IMHO
  23. A bit redundant, as tomato have their own already.
  24. Don't care for rice, and rarely eat. Pastas are a fine substitute in many Thai dishes, and pairs well with many Thai spices & flavors. Even potatoes work, limited options though.
  25. Ditto With that, depending where living, jobs, one he'll actually stay with after a month or week, may be a bit thin out there. Here's 2 self employment ventures, that will work, almost anywhere, worldwide. And they go hand in hand. 1. Buy a quality pressure washer, unless living in condo, you need one anyway, and teach him how to use it. Print off flyers, and hit the mooban/developments, and advertise mold removal, and you'll be surprised how many people need it done, but don't want to invest in a good machine. They can scrub all day with chems & hose, or hire someone with a machine. 2. Teach him to paint, and can even pay him, to paint the house you're living in. One of the simplest things, but many haven't a clue, or want to be bothered. Just don't ever, ever, ever add water to primer or paint. Teach him prepping the surface is as important as putting on the paint. The pressure washer goes hand & hand with painting, as great way to prep walls, take off loose paint, for painting. Again, flyers to the developments, and he's on his way to being self employed. Can work out of a truck or even a car. Tell him if he shows initiative & profits, you'll loan him money for a used truck. You have the option of bonding, teaching & spending a few 100k baht (truck), or don't, and spend that & more, supporting him till whenever. Just a couple thoughts.
