  1. Just wanted to confirm on this: do I need to open my account at that branch to be able to get a letter of guarantee there? Because at the moment my plan is to open an account at another branch.
  2. Thank you everyone for the comments so far. I was reading this part in the Non-O requirements: And have a few further questions: 1) For anyone using the Bangkok Bank, could you ask for the letter of guarantee from any branch or you must go to the branch where you opened an account at? 2) Should I ask the bank to use the date of my appointment at CW in the letter of guarantee then, since it says the letter must be issued and updated to be the same date of the Application? 3) Could someone suggest the best/easiest way for me to get a copy of all entries of my passbook up to date so it is the same date of the application?
  3. Thank you for the swift reply, Joe! I am based in Bangkok. ????
  4. Hello everyone, I'm going to apply for a Non-O based on Marriage soon and have some questions about the bank requirements. If anyone could help shed any light on these, it'd be much appreciated. 1) THB 400K in the bank, does this need to come in from overseas, or I can ask my wife to transfer money from her account into mine? 2) Any recommendations on which bank branches to open an account with, or which agent to use, for someone on a Tourist Visa? Thank you in advance. Edward
  5. @Eaglekott Congratulations! So your marriage affidavit (the one you got the Embassy to stamp) did not state your income, so instead at the Amphur you showed them your last month's salary slip?
  6. My Embassy's template does not include this information. I checked around and seemed a lot of other countries' templates do not as well. Did you go through the marriage process recently @Eaglekott? What was your experience?
  7. Do they really require to know how much money we make before we can legally marry our fiancee? ????
  8. That makes sense Ubonjoe. I just hope the Amphur staff is reasonable and actually does that. They should have no reason to be concerned about how much money I make, or at least that's what I think...
  9. Cool, thanks @bbko! Working on that with my fiancée now, in fact. Here hoping we don't mess anything up as I want to make sure I have enough time from my TV left before applying for Non-O.
  10. I'm a US citizen going to Thailand next month to get married with my fiancée. While research I noticed that apparently, the Amphur (District Office) wants to know how much I earn from my job. However, I noticed the Marriage Affidavit form provided by the Embassy website does not include this information. I know for certain that in the past it used to be in the form, but not anymore. My question is, does the Amphur accept it? I'd love to hear from anyone who recently got married in Thailand please.
  11. Yes, they specifically ask for at least 6 photos of us living together. I'll never understand why a photo of us in a specific room is important...
  12. Thank you Pagallim, Ubonjoe and @howlee101. @howlee101, so the additional doc that you had to provide for 6.3 was the Marriage Affidavit that states you're legally free to marry?
  13. I am actually getting married in Thailand (while I'm gonna be on TV), so our marriage certificate will have been issued by a Thai authority. @pagallim You're saying 6.3 is only for people who registered marriage in a foreign country (outside of Thailand)? Checking the list of docs again my impression is yes, 6.2 is for people who got married outside of Thailand, but 6.3 is required for every applicant regardless of where they got married?
  14. Hi everyone, I plan to apply for a Non-O visa based on marriage from inside Thailand soon (I'll arrive with a Tourist visa). Checking the list of documents I'll need to prepare now, I came across one that I have no idea what it is. From reading around the forum, my understanding is this is a newly added this year. Anyone have any idea what exactly this is? I'm a US citizen, if that helps. I know I might need to make an appointment with the US Embassy in Bangkok, but I don't know what doc I need to request from them. Appreciate any suggestion!
