  1. Good ????
  2. We can continue the NVMe/DRAM/Nand Flash discussion here
  3. I guess, as usual, you fail to see the irony of your post. I’ll help you… you don’t need to try to tell me what to do. It’s off-topic rubbish, as is your contribution.
  4. Off-topic rubbish. Take it somewhere else.
  5. You are ‘preaching to the converted’!
  6. What happened to this thread? ????☺️ I guess it had something to do with having more than one username ???? It’s been solved anyway. Fonts were too large.
  7. Have you tried ‘God Mode’?
  8. Not getting the point you are trying to make. What is it that you want me to read?
  9. Admittedly I have only tried it with Windows 10 and three different laptops. Worked every time. Though on one occasion, I had to adjust the partition settings on the cloning software. That was when I recently cloned the drive from an ASUS to a larger capacity SSD and put that into an entirely unrelated DELL Latitude. Booted up immediately and is working to this day. Same with the laptop that I’m using now. Drive pulled out of a failed device. I haven’t tested every combination, so I cannot say why it didn’t work for you. But it has worked for me EVERY time.
  10. Actually it might. I regularly swap drives between devices and it always works. Though if honestly, I don’t remember if they stayed activated. Though of course, that’s not an issue as there is always a way to fix that.
  11. It is as free and easy as I suggest. By design. You don’t need any fancy application to do it. You can even just use an old Windows 7 key to activate Windows 10. They want people to upgrade. By any means necessary. In fact, both Windows 10 and 11 will work perfectly well without a product key at all. You’ll just get a reminder and lose some options to personalise the Desktop. All update etc will work as normal. Stop arguing just for egotistical purpose. We are here to help each other.
  12. I guess this wasn’t you then? “When I tried to do my wife's computer a few years back the free upgrade had expired., I used an upgrade package from another computer. I am not saying that a work around is not available but the Windows instructions may not work as expected” It’s amazing, the amount of gaslighting and Trolls that come out of the woodwork in a thread like this. It’s like they want to be seen to be right even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
  13. Seems there was an altercation in a nightclub. Likely not the fault of the Private as the other person did not want to press charges. But seemingly he was out in a police car afterwards, which might explain his trying to get out of it. Hence the claim of kicking the back door of the police car. As to escaping, he was only escorted up to customs. He didn’t bother to catch the flight but instead the next day went on this tour. Perhaps feeling wrongly treated throughout.
  14. Personally I would run a fresh install on a new device anyway. Your upgrade will stay in MBR format. It might not be an issue for you. But my choice would generally be to back up the data and to run a fresh install. Otherwise you are running Windows 11 sub-optimally. You can have the Windows 7/10 drive as a secondary bootable disk that you can boot in to/access separately.
  15. There’s a good likelihood that it will work, but the OS require reactivating. If it does, you may have success with telephone activation, rather than needing to buy a new licence. Is the point of this that you want to keep certain programs that you have on the Windows 7 device in order to transfer them to the newly built machine, rather than having two PCs? There are also the possibility of having two bootable drives on one device. Perhaps think about your ideal configuration and then work towards making that possible. What is you have a Windows 7 program that doesn’t transfer to Windows 11 64-bit? All may be fine, but with PCs, best to take a belt and braces approach.
  16. Don’t be silly now. The image doesn’t just jump off the page. You still have to download it and if necessary, create USB installation media. Rufus can handle the whole process. No one needs to send you a PM to do so. Dodgy.
  17. As I stated, no need to modify anything. Just use Rufus.
  18. Venetian blind twitcher ???? Please don’t come back with roller blinds. They wouldn’t be convenient for peeking. ????
  19. ☺️ You don’t even know what needs to be modified but yet you are offering guidance… via PM? Novices shouldn’t touch the Registry. The easiest way for a novice to do this is to use Rufus to create the installation media. https://rufus.ie/en/ It can even download it for you if you enable the option for it to Check For Updates. Once done and you are ready to create the USB installation media, Click Start and you will be presented with the option to bypass TPM 2.0 et al.
  20. It’s always best to do at least some cursory research before you embarrass yourself on an open forum:
  21. Doesn’t change the flavour at all. Perhaps a heaped teaspoon in a bowl of water. Check online for recommendations. You might want to use more or less. Won’t harm you but helps to remove any waxy pesticides etc
  22. He did write “ …when out and about..” Are you suggested he is being economical with the truth?
