  1. Oh how I regret not buying The Base condo last year when it was selling at the discount. It's an AirBnB money machine.
  2. Every time a Thai tells me not to worry I get an ulcer
  3. I would recommend an accountant based in the US. The US has this wonderful thing called a lawsuit in case of negligence. Would you entrust your tax return to someone located in Pattaya?
  4. How much would a ventilator cost in Thailand? Just in case. Would this do the job? https://www.neuvar.com/product/icu-ventilator-mslvm19/?gclid=CjwKCAiAwc-dBhA7EiwAxPRylBN6td9QABjQZin-uzoOaTCdwoOkHKpvA1BmOT2sIXS0iGhhpTGhZRoCwM0QAvD_BwE&doing_wp_cron=1672802790.7503829002380371093750
  5. I am not going to diss Thailand this time. It seems like everything has recovered very fast. It also looks like Western currencies are tanking against Thai baht..... again. Poor GBP and AUD. Heading towards 39 and 21 respectively
  6. Jesus. How about you ask a seller directly for a discount or credit.
  7. Less common stuff? Just say it - Sidegra
  8. Yes. Extremely good move just like the rent control in Ontario. It made rent unaffordable for 90% of the population because of the lack of supply and landlords jacking up prices on empty units.
  9. Yes. really. Why are you so confused? Are you stoned?
  10. This is for PR. The thing you apply for before you get citizenship.
  11. What "investors"? A simple google search confirms that only 2.6% are foreign home owners. I am sure a lot more foreigners own property in Bangkok.
  12. Why would they? Canada is in the business of importing immigrants? 500,000 are coming in the next 2 years, probably more. I am closely following all cases as my wife applied for a Permanent Residency. You should see how fast students and Indians are getting approved. In like 3-6 months after they apply. Meanwhile we are still waiting after 2 years. Canada obviously does not need old people, which is fine. My wife does not want to move anyway anymore after watching CBC for the past year. I am an immigrant myself and it always sickened me the attitude of certain foreigners here as is Thailand is the only country that's after the money. Canada is much, much worse when it comes to extracting your hard earned cash. But at least in the past they pretended not to be xenophobic. This new law surely proves otherwise considering that it is 99% of Canadians and not those perky foreigners who overbid on homes and are real estate crazy.
  13. Always a concern in Thailand as you never know if the favorite son passed the exams or paid for diplomas
  14. Write the business expense off your income tax
  15. What does it matter? I could make up a a few unrelated conditions on the spot. Would that make me more credible? Would that pass as evidence? However, the Thai insurance story is mine and completely 100% correct. I know I could appeal it, but why would I waste time on this nonsense? I would rather self insure. This way I am in control and everything is 100% on me.
  16. Here's a direct answer to your question with no guesswork. Had insurance with Aetna with pre existing condition(nothing serious). Got denied a procedure which was in no way even remotely connected to the pre existing condition. Since then I don't bother with insurance at all. Even if I could fight it is it even worth the stress lying in a hospital bed hoping for these bloodsuckers to pay?
  17. I can assure you the parts are garbage. My wife has been working for a Japanese supplier here for the past 2 decades. All the parts are from China and they don't pass high speed test rigs.
  18. But but MG is different.... as good as Honda
  19. But this is not a clinic, this is a full hospital. Anyway I did some research and it seems the hospital OP went to is one of the very few grandfathered private hospitals.
  20. I am under the impression that just like work permit, you are supposed to surrender your visa after the divorce. Of course, probably no one does it, but legally that is the fact. The letter is requested when you apply for a non-o visa. So even if you are legally married and your wife says she doesn't want you back, your visa will be refused.
  21. That's funny. Because I have been told the exact opposite a few years back by Tod Daniels in one of those Facebook forums that he moderates. To be fair I am not sure if it was you or that other mate of Tod Daniels who quickly proclaims that the topic is closed for discussion once someone else has another opinion. In any case the immigration now wants a letter from your spouse confirming that you are still married and living together. I would fire that "lawyer" of his as he is 100% INCORRECT
  22. Can you explain something to me. This hospital is in Ontario Canada. As far as I know no private hospitals are allowed to operate in Ontario. Or was this a non resident fee charge in which case it should be the same for everyone. Do you have OHIP card?
