  1. I am noticing this for several years now and I don't think my head is playing with me. After a few days of bad pollution I always get very very mild smell of something burning.... and I think it comes from air-conditioner. No matter where I go, my place or somebody's else place it is always there. It feels like a smell from a put down cigarette in another room.
  2. I have been exposed!
  3. I never pay her bills.
  4. Makes no difference
  5. No work permit now, deported soon
  6. Thanks for that. Something to look forward to
  7. My wife slammed the finger with a car door. It started to look bad after a few days. The whole nail turned purple. She went to the hospital and insisted not to have the nail removed. Instead they took an x-ray and poked some holes in the nail to clear the puss. Price 4,300 baht. The hospital was nothing fancy private hospital a bit run down. I checked the bill afterwards. 1100 for thumb x-ray. I remember paying a 500b for x-ray a few years back at some fancy marble lobby hospital. Shocked. 2000 specialist fee. I think medpark is cheaper, but whatever. 1200 for a painkiller haha She told me she has accident insurance and will get refunded. I wait in anticipation to see that as this was a telesales insurance that costs her 189 baht a month. She said they paid before, so lets see.
  8. It is always so easy to bash Western nations when Thai government is always hiding something. From your own link. https://www.iqair.com/us/thailand/bangkok "However, despite the readings classing it at a moderate level, there are times when it crosses rapidly over this line to significantly worse pollution with levels of PM2.5 and other contaminants found lingering in the air. A large number of schools were closed in January of 2019, an unprecedented order at the time because the level of air quality has only something that has recently been made more transparent and available for the average citizen, as well as the government keeping a closer eye on it."
  9. Simon is going back because of a serious medical issue which treatment was denied by insurance company. I have been saying that insurance here is not good, but what surprised me was that his insurance is not a Thai based insurance.
  10. Yep. It is truly Cr@pola Lots of cheap purifiers on Lazada.
  11. I have been here 10 years bud. The pollution really started getting bad around 1-2 years before covid. Before that the joke was always on Chiang Mai.... now it is practically all over Thailand. I am not "elderly" yet and the pollution has no present effect on me whatsoever. That doesn't mean I am dumb regarding the issue.
  12. I have seen the posts in the past with maps where there is burning going on. Can someone point me to the link. I don't think I can stay here in my old age if this continues for more than 2 weeks per year,
  13. Paying 600,000 baht to do a 90 day report. Let me guess, you also bought a 30 year leasehold pool villa?
  14. They will have to now. This is exactly why PayPal is not allowing anyone to register unless they provide a tax id. Again, this was not PayPal decision, I remember 20 years ago Canadian government went after eBay sellers for not declaring their income. eBay protested giving out customer information as it was invasion of privacy. In the end they could not argue against the government and had to comply. Do you really thing these companies what to lose the business? People are so quick to trash the company without even bothering to research a full story.
  15. Couldn't breathe last night. 180 in Bangkok
  16. This decision has nothing to do with PayPal. This is Thai government wanting control over taxes paid and PayPal had to comply.
  17. I think you are confused. Why would PayPal do something silly like this?
  18. I said no to Trudeau taxes and immigration. I said no to rent control. I said no to subsidizing my property because Trudeau said it's my responsibility to make housing affordable. I felt scammed so I left.
  19. I order from Amazon all the time. Amazon UK, Amazon US, Amazon Germany, but I would rather shop on Lazada.
  20. I buy the running shoes from Asics store on Lazada. Always the perfect fit and so cheap.
  21. If you want no question return, I suggest you order from amazon. They bend over backwards to screw their sellers and please the buyer. Personally I like Lazada approach much better, Why should a seller bear the loss if you tempered with the item?
  22. It seems to me like Farang likes corruption only when it benefits him, but when he tries to live like a Thai in Thailand it becomes a bit of an inconvenience. Aww.... poor you nepo baby. The airport is close by.
  23. I really like it when capitalist comes to Thailand and then complains about Thais being a capitalist. Remember, in Thailand there is always a choice.... as a matter of fact a lot more choice than back home. If you are lazy to do a research then you really shouldn't complain about being "ripped off". It's called capitalism, not scam.
  24. Best and most affordable healthcare
  25. The last thing I want to be in Thailand is well known. Always keep a low profile.
