  1. "They encountered the dead man’s friend standing outside the room, shaking. He asked the workers to check on his friend, who had suddenly stopped breathing." So his friend outside the room didn't render assistance? Seeing he had the acumen to realise his friend wasn't breathing surely he could have, unless it was the hotel staff that noticed? Seems a bit strange though.
  2. So they are paying 90,000 + baht a month rent on a 3 bedroom apartment? Nearly 1,100,000 baht a year?
  3. I have a good friend who is Swiss but lives here in Australia and reasonably wealthy. He is an Australian tax resident and submits returns here. He used to spend the majority of the year with his wife in Thailand. I spoke to him yesterday and he commented he will now be spending less than 180 days in Thailand each year from now on until clarity about the tax residency situation purely because he doesn't want to be in Thailand tax system. I know my own plans of full time retirement in Thailand are on hold at the moment.
  4. Not if they stay less than 180 days in a calender year, problem solved.
  5. I thought lithium/iron battery fires weren't able to be extinguished by water as they supplied their own oxygen? Must have been something other.
  6. OMG 3cm less. I hope the quack doesn't moonlight as a penile extension surgeon.????
  7. $200,000 USD is over $300,000 AUD. Sounds suspiciously like the hospitals having a lend of them dollar wise. Even my Thai wife thought it seemed excessive medical bill. Nearly 7,000,000 baht!
  8. I'll bet you're a blast at parties. ???? I don't touch the stuff but I've also never seen 'addicts on every street corner' or 'destroyed city centres' like you're espousing. Care to give some examples?
  9. The 'sleepy Joe' of Thailand. Taking the high moral ground on one hand and a backhander in the over. lol
  10. There was a media report a couple of days ago outlining the gradual removal of all restrictions and by July it was suggested it was to be back to normal, no test and go, no PCR/RAT on arrival or on day five. Hopefully that will be the case.
