My three year old pick up truck battery got tested yesterday. My wife came home and told me the battery was no good and the truck wouldn't start. I was getting ready to go buy a new battery when she told me that she had forgotten to turn off the fog lights. I asked her how long they were on and she told my ONLY four hours. Time will tell if it needs replaced.

If the foglights are connected correctly, it wouln't be happen. They have to turn off automaticly when you torn off the headlight switch. But i never understand why in Thailand they connect them to a seperate switch and not connect the N0. 85 of the foglight relais with the position light switch.

They make things for us very difficult now. But did you ever ask yourself why? We do the same with them, since many years. If Thai People like to go to Europe or USA, it's almost impossibile for them to get a visa. Why don't we let them travel easely? Maybe they would let us stay easly too.

There is something like a black foam, where the aircon components are fitted together, to seal between the components and to protect against rattles an noises, specialy between air con hoses, the aircon unit and vents. This foam seals sometime falling a part, like powder and getting blowed out of the vents. Thie is no problem, but create some kind if dirt. Today every car have a cream interior, so you'll regonize the dust and dirt easly. With a black interior you would not see anything.

The Problem is: Wh everybody buy or finance the same cars, like City, Civic, Vios, Vigo, etc. Buy a "Non Market Car" like a Ford, Chevrolet, or even a older car, if you don't have enougt meney. Nobody steals a 15 Year old Toyota or nobody steals a Ford or Chevrolet. Should not buy any 4x4 vehicles. They like to "escape" to cambdia.

You have to explain what kind of Toyota Hi Lux, and what year. If it's a simple older Pick Up Truck (no 4 door) than is 6'ooo Baht to much, they are below 2000 Baht. If it's a 4 door, four wheel, fully loaded, etc., lets say 2004 or 05 model tha it should be arround 4 to 6'000 Baht (Private name registration). If the car still in finance, you have to pay double amount of tax, because all Company registered cars paying double amount. If you pay late, it's gonna cost 20% fine on the top of that, therefore the 14'000 Baht.

Buy YUSA or Panasonic brand, they life is about 3 to 4 year. If you buy the "Green One" FB Brand, you can replace after 3 to 6 months, theyr life is very short.

Electronic causes a lot of troubles, but it's simular like the mobilephones. the simple ones who cost 1500 Baht they have absolutely no options, no MP3, no micro chip, no camera, etc. So nothing can go wrong, because there is nothing. The expensive one for more then 10'000 Baht have many troubles, software problems, camera broken if it fall down to the floor. etc. Simular with a car. A simple Toyota soluna, no engine management system, no airbags, no ABS brakes, maybe not even elevtric windows, etc. All this things can not go wrong, because those options aren't in the car. Look a simple Chrysler Neon 97 is equipped with 2 airbags and 4 ABS brakes, and cost below 200'000 Baht if you get a good one. Don't buy the bad one for 90'000 Baht. There is where you get in troubles. You get what you pay for. So compare: Most of the 97 japanese cars, doen't matter if it's a pick up or a sedan, have not even one air bag and of corse no ABS. So don't safe money at the wrong way. Sure Europe and US cars are more exzpensive for maintenance, but you get safety and luxury and you drive in style, and same as somone already mentioned: Nobody steal your car.

Ask a lawyer, but so far as i know you can transfer your WP to another Company. I had simular proplem with a company i worked with (not for, because i was some kind of partner). So we got disagremments, they try to cancel my WP, but i go see the lawyer and he offered me to transfer the WP into his company (temporary). Remember WP belongs to you, not to the employer.

They should offer the V6 overhere. More cubic inches doesn't mean more fuel consumption. A small high rewing engine uses sometimes more fuel than a biger engine. Because with a biger engine you don't need to pull your trottle pedal full to the floor when you want excelerate or pass other vehicles. You just cruising. BTW a V6 is much smouther and have more torque. But i don't think they will offer a V6 Version overhere. Every larger car lose theyr value rapidly, even Honda and Toyota, after 3 -4 years only half of the new price. Doesn't matter what brand you buy. The only vehicles who keep their prices are the Toyota and Isuzu Pick Up Trucks or the little ones, like Honda Jazz, City, Toyota Yaris, Vios, etc. But it remember me on the old days in the 70ties, when every farmer in Europe uses "VW Kafer". It was the best, they said. But it wasn't.

One Swissguy owned a Car repair shop in Pattaya and he got a DL in Banglamung for his big Dodge Towing Truck. But he closed his business now, so i can't get any future information anymore. The best thing you go and ask the ministery of transportation.

I my self think the Tena is a much more interesting car, specially the dash looks great, not so boring as the Camrys and Hondas. Anyway i think the depression of the value is the same. A Tena 4 cylinder (if you want buy a 4 cylinder) cost about 1.2 mil, and you'' get after 3 years about 600.000. so you will lose 600'000. the Camry cost about 1.6 mil. Baht. Hes resale value after 3 years will be at 800.000 maybe 900'000 Baht, if you compare with the today market. So you lost 800'000 Baht. You; lle get more, but you spent 400'000 more and you'll lose more, so i think the tena is amuch better buy. Think about!

BTW its nothing wrong with the caprice dash, it was much better in style than any cars today. Not everybody have the same taste.

I was in Cambo, 3 moths ago. You need original registration book if you leave the country. In Hat Lek you have to deposite your registration book on the Thai border. I think it will be the same when you crossing the malaisian border. Crossing the border with cars on finance, i think is not possibile, otherwise many cars would be "disapear"

It's not worth to go against the insurance company. they have more money and better lawyers than you. I had the same problem in the year 2001. some guy wrecked my parked car on my private property. He just jumpt (Highspeed) of the road, directly in my car and two others. total damage was arround 300'000 Baht My car was total wrecked. The insurance offered to pay 30'000 Baht for all. we never got payd. It's normaly overhere. Therefore the best thing is: Drive a Junk! Never got any problem again since i drive a Junk.
