Exactly, the people I met were all great! They actually seemed happy to have me visiting their country.

Where I stayed in danang, there were over a dozen different kinds of international dining within walking distance of my room.

the food was great!

mever had a bad moment in Vietnam.

I find myself and others spending more time there than in Thailand.

From the UK no doubt!

It’s something they aspire to, why work and get a job when you can party everyday and lay on your back?

What motivated my thoughts for this … got my BD/Xmas greeting, family update from my brother.  A yearly thing and he fills my in on his family, kids/grandkids, O&As.

 

His son retires next year, (age 45), Holy Buddha we’re getting old.  Anyway ...

 

He retired 10 yrs ago, now 70, so he got to pick where for his BD.  

BD – Antarctica, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay & Falkland Is.

 

Other O&As in 2023;

… Costa Rica (E & W coast)

… Netherlands, Belgium

… Portugal

… Kenya, Tanzania (balloon ride over Serengeti), inspired by IMAX documentary he saw in 1994.

 

His wife’s father passed, so had to sh!t can one trip.

2024 (May), he’s coming to TH, since in the neighborhood.  Last stop, after Australia, New Zealand,  Tasmania & Vietnam.

 

He didn’t book the TH part, and I advised him not to, but who listens to me.  Man … is he going to disappointed. 

Any luck we’ll have a good downpour before he arrives, as CM after BKK is on his itinerary.  Then Phuket, and we'll hang out for 24 ish hours at BKK before he flies out.  Yea, all of 1 day, and I haven't seen him in 20 years 

 

All I can say is ... "I warned you" 

Why would Chang nobyl be on his itinerary? Tell him to bring his gas mask! You really know how to ruin his trip!

My friend rents in a project, half the units are empty, the place looks like a bomb shelter in bahkmut! Very few pay monthly bills, it’s a totall mess!

It might already be required, but Thailand should require proof of insurance before allowing a tourist to enter, if only to protect the foolish from their own stupidity.

Nearly everyone I know who lives here in Hua Hin uses an agent except for that one guy with PR, I don't know why as most of these people (but not all of them) do actually have the money, they just don't seem to want to put it in a Thai bank.

I can understand that, my bank, my country, and easier for my inheritors to obtain. 
it’s a pain in the arse for them to get it and certainly saves them so much hassle WHEN the time comes.
