Thai men hate us with a passion, they love to put down beatings on foreigners! I’ve rarely felt welcomed by a Thai man!
exact opposite in Vietnam, they have called me over to sit with them, offering me food and booze, generally happy to speak with me!
totally welcomed me!

Quality imported items are very expensive. Living like a local is reasonable, if you wish to lead more of a western lifestyle it’s quite expensive!

As far as health care goes, no one dies on the streets in Canada.
patients with acute health issues are given priority and given medical treatment asap. This is fact!
yes things are getting expensive, but much less than some other countries.
it’s expensive everywhere, sorry to inform you.
just another broke expat that doesn’t have the financial means to stay in Canada.
never hear of people with money complaining about their homeland!
don’t like the winter? Simply jump on a plane like most retirees (WITH MONEY) and fly to a destination of your choice. Why stay there if you don’t like the winter? No money?
best wishes as you get older and can’t get health insurance.
another go fund me in the works!
enjoy your rice soup!

I see you obviously haven't needed to use the health care system in Canada. Wait until you need to use it. Need a specialist? Get in line and wait months/years to get in to see them. The free long term care consists of them keeping you locked in a room and sedated most of the day. Need the ER? Waits over 10 hours are normal.
I considered all that and decided I'd rather live in Thailand where I can get 24/7 one on one support if needed for cheap. And guess what? It never snows in Thailand.
Cheap health care in Thailand?
where?
government hospitals?
you can’t get coverage as you get older!
I considered that and know for certain where I should be in my retirement years!
no one dies waiting for free medical care in Canada 🇨🇦
lay off the weed!
Best wishes in your 20 metre fan room eating rice soup!😂

Canada has 2 “pensions“. OAS (old age security} and CPP (Canada pension plan). CPP is like US social security where you pay a portion of your wages and get a pension when you retire. You need 40 quarters (10 years) of employment to get paid. OAS is for people who don't get CPP and is means and income dependant. If you don't live in Canada after retirement, you need 20 years residency to get your OAS overseas.
I worked in Canada for exactly 40 quarters, the minimum. I also worked in the US for exactly 40 quarters, the minimum for full social security there. There is an agreement between Canada and the US where you can't collect both pensions. My us pension would be around 3k USD when I start to take it at 70. My Canadian pension would be about 500 CDN. Guess which one I'll be taking.
Being Canadian I too am entitled to 2 pensions.
I can take my Canada pension at 60 at a reduced rate and old age pension at 65.
I can wait till 65 for my Canada pension at full rate.
along with free health care, free prescription drugs, dental work can be deducted from my tax to a certain amount.
free long term care when I need my diapers changed!
along with my work pension.
I feel fortunate to live in Canada 🇨🇦

Don't give a flying one what Agoda says, I've been there, you haven't.
Accommodation that costs 500bht in Thailand, costs 800-1,000bht in Vietnam/Cambodia/Philippines/China.
Thailand has the cheapest hotels/guesthouses in SEA, and I've been all over.
Lay off the dope and booze brit man, I’ve spent tons of time in both and danang- Vietnam has much nicer and. Cheaper accommodation than Thailand period

I know a guy who lives with sister. Cheap rent, rarely leaves the house. His life is the most boring ive seen.
I know several guys that live in Thailand, little money, hang out in front of miles mall, eat rice soup, no health insurance, no family. Most boring life I have seen!
and that’s before health issues start!
then what?
-
Fact is many have come here, living in a shoe box, eating at tin cup, no health insurance,( hence the go fund me pages) and thought it would be great!
grass ain’t always greener on the other side!

You can drive past new villa proejcts especially in Cherntalay every 100 m.
This also supports thousands of thai and Burmese labourers on the island
This is probably the main reason for the free 90 day visa as a thank you.
The Russian mafia has invested this money, and others with illegal money
