(with sympathy) A tough lesson learned they clearly were not in a fit state to rescue anyone, Imagine if he fell with the person he was supposed to be rescuing as well ! - shouldn't they be practicing over water while they master these moves?

More corruption, why not find some proper police work to do like solving a few serious crimes

bet he thought he would not get caught because he was tourist police, and knew the way to avoid this problem
If so, He was a fool then because he was probably only "informed on" because they wanted to take down a tourist cop? or they owed him money and didnt want to pay it back? You seriously dont think that the police solved this one by old fashioned investigating off their own back do you? I bet 90% of their "Results" come from Grasses/Snitchers/Rats/Informants

<deleted> 375 milligrams of ice and someones a dealer? aprox 0.3 of a gram.. Erm Hello!? this is probably smaller than an average ice addict would prob consume in an afternoon watching a football game. You could probably scrape 0.3 of a gram out of a couple of discarded (empty used) bags of ya ice found on the street. Thats crazy.
Obviously this guy had 18 grams, which of course a high amount for a user unless he was just well off for cash and just liked to buy in bulk to make it easier for himself?A betting man would say hes probably a dealer, BUT what if he was genuinely just addicted to using it himself.. its a harsh price to pay for "his poison" Alcohol is a bad drug, I enjoy a few Gin and Tonics every night but im not risking life in Jail to enjoy it.
You've got to feel sorry for these people who end up in this mess for doing something they enjoy doing..

Every year the Pol chief says that they are going to reduce the carnage during Songkran yet in 14yrs I have never seen a change.
police still dont enforce anything! they still let the water throwers attack motorcyclists and people that are clearly "Not Playing"
I would be very interested in knowing how many deaths are motorcycle related ? all we know is 240 deaths... not to mention 3000 that were lucky not to die from their injuries. -
Looking at Pattaya as a holiday town I think that the SONG TAEW'S (baht busses) are the worse thing here in Pattaya!
I recently left my car at home and headed into town by foot and Song Taew, each song taew drove like they didn't have any passengers in the back, no consideration when braking hard or accelerating. I found the drivers aggressive and moody not to mention them blocking and jamming the streets up and the pollution. To many tourists These guys are the face of Pattaya and their first dealings with the locals.. I feel sorry for anyone that has to deal with these people as part of their holiday here. They are the Parasites of Pattaya.
Imagine if Pattaya City got rid of them all and provided their own special bus service, each smiling friendly driver proud to wear a uniform, trained to care about tourists, speak english and have knowledge about Pattaya and welcome tourists the land of smiles..- 2

Woodie, Maybe they have been reading about their poor reputation and Someone has shaken them up? Or maybe Ferang applications have been quiet so they decided to be nice now

I saw a bunch of kids and teenagers enjoying the "Boom Walk" the other day it looked like good fun at the beach.. at the time I didnt realise they could be dangerous, But YES if the person cant swim he shouldnt be doing it! - The boom looked like it was superbly protecting the swimmers from jet ski etc

And how much of this 2.2 trillion baht will go into the pockets of friends and cronies?
Thats easy! 80% goes into their pockets, The job gets finished about 5years after the scheduled date, after allocating the second 2.2 Trillion for all of the "unforeseen delays" and obstacles and difficulties

Is that the best Photo they could get??

I used to visit Jomtien beach very often 10 years ago and remember getting many foot massage.
Today I asked the price
500 baht the lady wanted!
It's only 250 in a proper massage shop!
Why should it be double?
I know that they give 20 baht to the deck chair owner or maybe that's gone up to 40
They're are people working for 400 per day on build sites and this lady wants 500 for about 45 mins
Does anyone know what the real price should be for a beach foot massage?

At Tukom they have put small kiosk sellers on the tiny stair ways! It's ridiculous if there was an emergency.. The gap is down to less than a foot when the guy pushes his display cabinet out too far

Anyone know if they have official HGV licenses in Thailand?
Judging by the shocking way that HGV's change lanes so fast without looking or indicating on the motorway I personally dont Doubt it

If time is not an issue I recommend Phuket Richards way. Then kick back and relax and enjoy 5 days in the beautiful phnom phen without the stress of dealing with those horrible embassy staff

Yes Phuket Richard has a valid point but if it's a business visa your not there for tourism got just need the visa as quick as humanly possible and get back to work in Thailand so I thought that going directly to the embassy straight from the airport would possibly avoid me staying an extra night at least. I just wanted it ASAP

Jellydog I highly recommend buying 1 way tickets so that you are prepared incase it's faster or slower that you had planned
Or pay extra and get a flexible ticket
The fastest way to get the express service is actually to give your application to the security guard outside.
Next time I will use the guard outside he can do everything for you. You have to pay him up front. He will have your passport and visa ready for collection within 48hrs not including week ends they close Sat-Sun

Expect terrible service, angry moody staff, longest waiting times up to 5 days, horrible attitude if you apply anything at the Thai embassy phnom phen.
Totally unnecessary. It ruins your trip to phnom phen. Which is a very nice place and worth going to. I just dont know why they are like this here. No one gains anything from it. It's crazy

Cost for car with driver to Aranyaprathe from Pattaya is approx 3000 baht. On the other side at Poipet it's approx 30 USD for car with driver to Siam Reap.
Times are approx 3.5 hours from Pattaya to border. Approx 2hours or less from Poipet to Siam Reap.
Allow 1 hour for border crossing in your calcs and opt for the express service at the border, which costs an extra 100 baht (700/800). Enjoy your journey.
Thanks Mojomor, By land is definitely a good option worth seriously considering and we will save 40+ K
Q: is there any safe car parks to leave our car at the Aranyaprathet border for 4 days???
Local boats ignore teens and leave them to drown in Chao Phraya River

Haha, like it, good humour! nothing wrong with it. I bet they have their own funny words for us westerners. nothing wrong with saying the word Slope seeing as their eyes do slope. he could have said something far worse.
