Report Nightmare in Phuket: British Family's Pricey Villa Scam Uncovered
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Really! First, did you not read, booking.com kept £80 so never returned the whole amount and refused to compensate! Second. Taking children on holiday to Thailand, such a victorian view! We take our children on holiday with us to Thailand every year. I love seeing people pushing a pram obviously on holiday when walking in Krabi (our favourite holiday destination in Thailand), it gives a family atmosphere/vibe. -
Report Thaksin Rallies Behind Yingluck in Rice Case Drama
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This is persecution! The scheme was just, it was the Thai elite who just could not help themselves and stole from the scheme. They are the ones who should be in prison and have their assets sold off. Did she profit financially from the scheme, NO! And that's what matters. All you people screaming for blood must also accept with your logic that if you save money for a rainy day and the bank clerk thieves your money you are the one who should be punished and not the clerk!!! -
Finance Foreign Nationals Face Account Bans in Bangkok Bank Crackdown
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Think your wrong there. I lived and banked in Thailand for years and found the banking system about 20 years behind the UK. Now live back in the UK, do all my banking including personal and business (including international) on my phone without any problems. Even taking a loan out is done in seconds. -
A few questions: where did this attack take place? Was her dog on her property and if not was it under control (we all know the answer to that). If the pitbulls were loose and not properly secured then they should be put down with no questions asked! Owners have duty of responsibility. So both could well be to blame and both should pay the price! Could have been a child!!!

Report Defence Minister Keeps Alarm Bells Ringing: Coup Not Off the Table

Was told the generals wanted 40% when in power! Looks like bac to normal 30%. -
Watch! Land deal. Rice pledging scheme (remember Joseph and his technicolor coat) was sound but failed to take into account currupt Thais. How can she be held responsible for others who stole??? Maybe time for all Generals to be audited! Oh they can't do that as no one would do the job "bang, bang your dead". Audit the blimp, detectors and submarines or lack of!!!

Crime Swedish Father Denies Harassment Allegations in Udon Thani
BritScot replied to snoop1130's topic in Isaan News
I'm shocked that 13 years ago this wasn't all over Thai visa "13 year old girl pregnant by Swiss man". Maybe he could clarify her age or even her birth certificate should be provided. If he was having sex with a 13 year old and the proof is their daughter, why the hell wasn't that acted on. Now for this, he touched her leg and bum (christ I touch my daughters leg everytime she gets on her horse to adjust her saddle) as for the phone, and GPS tracker that is sensible parenting. If he is such a threat simple: walk away, cut all ties. I'm finding it hard to believe the story wasn't all over the news 16 years ago!!! -
Politics Court Thwarts Thaksin's Trump Meeting: No Qatar Trip Allowed
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
First if Mr T. wanted out of Thailand he would already be gone. As for the haters Sir Trump, who has made America the envy of the world, cleaning up corruption at a massive rate, putting his country first and doing it for FREE!!! Sir Trump can rescue us in GB any time please. I also think Thailand needs all the help it can. Just remember when Mr T. was Thailand's PM the countries GDP was 14%.- 17 replies

Report American Tourist Held in Phuket for ADHD Drug Possession
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Yes! He walked to a rental shop handed over what was asked for and rode into the sunset! He was obviously wearing a helmet because that would be another charge!!! This stinks of Thai extortion! Poor kid. So many kids now have this ADHD! Yet authorities do nothing to find out why! Anyway, I hope this shakedown goes viral!!! -
I think it may be you that is talking dribble! I built a house in Thailand (still own it and have my little yellow property book) and as my late Father in law reminded to my wife! "He built the house, he paid for the house so its his house, not yours"! I never had to sign anything and there was a paper trail for every screw, nail and tile etc I purchased. When you build a house, the house is yours the problem is the land it sits on. There is nothing stopping you from knocking it down. The amount of idiots I've come across who put every last thing in their new wife's name. Cars, motorbikes etc. Oh it was just easier!!! Grown ass men can be so stupid sometimes.

Crime Thai Police Dismantle Major Online Prostitution Network
BritScot replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
The smell of money and the mafia are knocking wanting their share. A good business model now back to bars or trolling dating apps. -
Couldn't even read this dribble once I read the first sentence! Former president Donald Trump. That one very disrespectful sentance showed the twisted negative rubbish that was bound to follow. Trump is the president so get over it! I wish we had a Trump in the UK 🇬🇧.

Who told you that nonsense? He is still married, and e can switch to a retiredvisa when it's time to renew. If he has children and links in TThailand, hecan stay with no problems. When I lived in Thailand and mmarried, Ichanged my visa from married to retired because it was less hassle, andI had the income required. Now in my years of living and working in Thailand I've seen this so many times. I met an English guy, he married a girl, built a house and bought several flats putting everything in her name (idiot) then the second the house was built she kicked him out. He was then forced to stay at friens houses. He wasn't a bum just an idiot and there are a lot who live by "my wife wouldn't do that to me" but the answer is she will eventually. Give her all the cards and it's a matter of time.

Report Thailand Ranked 7th Happiest Country in New Global Survey
BritScot replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Are you mad? They are already taxed in their home country and second: eery penny they have saved has already been taxed and quite often more than once. -
Anyone who has rented in Thailand knows this scam or the massive electric bill which coincidently is the same as the deposit! Mind you it is the same in the uk, landlords just hate paying you back your deposit!!! But in the uk there is a safe deposit system and you can fight for your deposit back. It took me 6 months but I finally got it back.

Report Rangsiman Rome Refutes Rolex Rumours with Seiko Revelation
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Nice choices. I prefer antique watches myself. I have about 40 pocket watches some 120++ years old. My favourites are: JW Benson who had Royal Warrants from Queen Victoria, emperors of Russia, Japan and even the Thai king of Siam. Modern mudmaster a few seiko's including an error dial 1973 gmt and of course my longines Zulu. Nothing to do with "look at me" some people just love time pieces. Oh and a 1962 Omega Seamaster "year I was born". -
