  1. If the country/world wanted to stop drugs that cause endless harm to its population surely alcohol and nicotine rank more harmful than weed. Then again, banning such products would create a huge loss from tax and ruin companies that have enjoyed profiting from everyday misery. Good idea, banning weed and all those violent stoners plus reducing cancer on a global scale. Oops...there's me muddling weed with alcohol and nicotine again. Total hypocrisy.
  2. Hey? Normally no, but they like to ask for something in return here. I believe they show symptoms those that visit in return. I've never heard them spouting off sympathy to nations that offer no form of tourist income to the Thais
  3. Nothing to build. Think you're mistaking me for someone who gives a toss. I simply clear off for the weekend to avoid the congestion.
  4. The only reason they showed sympathy is to gain financially from it. Like giving to the monks...here's my sympathy offering...in return...can you give my lottery ticket some luck?
  5. Must be yes. The point was traffic congestion and all round crap organisation makes me leave until it's over. Obvious sign of age Einstein.
  6. As soon as I hear that a festival is on its way I make plans to leave. Traffic congestion, accidents, police presence, rip-off vendors. How can they claim to be a hub when they don't have any infrastructure? All he bangs on about is money. Nothing to do with bringing entertainment and culture here, no just money again. Love to see people's reaction when they read that the reason Thailand wants the concerts is to purely to line their pockets.
  7. I bought a few different strains from the same company. (10bt 1g). I haven't tried this one or fat banana but the other stuff is great value. It does the trick instantly. Great value
  8. Women expressed their support for stabbing a man and his mistress. Glad they feel that her actions were justified. Yet again, always the victim in the report, no mention of why he was with another lady. Maybe he is a cheating scumbag but then again did he have his own reasons for being with another girl? Did the wife live a life of innocence, sugar and honey? The reports never mention both sides. That wouldn't sell stories.
  9. Whoever designed it is laughing with a big fat cheque in his sky rocket. Publicity at the max now thanks to a group who take life far too seriously.
  10. This is a new one on me. I can't think of anywhere I'd least want to have a beer than outside a convenience shop but what about the mum and pop shops that people enjoy having a drink outside? Or the countless Russians that seem to walk around drinking in public? I see nothing offensive myself but if it's a question of law then surely Somchai and his mates should be queueing up to get some easy meat.
  11. Never a truer word spoken. How can a person learn when they don't see anything wrong in how they behave? They'll be countless excuses for this and no ounce of responsibility and so it goes on and on and on...
  12. They really are blinded when it comes to money. As soon as a few baht is on the table shows the 3rd world mentality that will never go away while the farmers chase the golden egg. I bet he has no idea what the relationship between Taiwan and China is. Complete and utter ignorance.
  13. Completely. Usual hard nut Thai males giving it large. Pathetic little cowards.
  14. Great initiative. I meet plenty of working ladies here that advertise high rates and are lucky to score one customer a month. I've tried telling them to offer a lower price and beat the market. Then negotiate up over time. Simply won't have it. Rather earn nothing and struggle than try and improvise. Good luck to Ms. 1 bt
  15. Mentally ill? He's found a Thai hottie who lets you at her 24/7 and more importantly...doesn't ask for cash, sulk for days on end or complain! He's one step ahead of me!
  16. Where does air pollution come from when the squeaky clean Thai farmers have a burn up? Hardly angelic are they? If they could use anything to enhance sales they would. They just can't keep up with them. Another example of being outdone by a nation that they can't compete with. China has flooded the worldwide market with cheaper goods that in turn make it affordable to purchase such goods. Without them the greedy bs worldwide would have a party. Thailand wants the hand to feed them yet not take a bit for themselves. Not going to happen. The Chinese are no mugs. They knew exactly what they were getting from nations like Thailand. Too late to throw your toys out the pram now. Dear PM, we want you to tell China to stop selling goods cheaper than us.... As if he'll do anything.
  17. Give credit to those who caught him. After 19 years you'd expect for it to be case closed. At least A can experience some closure, although hearing his unconvincing excuses won't help. Hope he gets punished for not outwardly admitting his crime. 3 times in one go is nothing to do with love and money. Sick.
  18. I agree with this. There are airports in KK and Roiet which makes me doubt it will happen. Nice to get a chance to talk about other places in Thailand though.
  19. Never said specialist. I can give you at least 3 restaurants that will blow your mind on local food. There's also White Linen that bakes fresh, hot chocolate chip cookies in soft dough. A coffee shop and restaurant set in a renovated Thai wooden house. Amuse cafe serves up foreign food and craft beers. The Supak hotel is the best looking hotel coffee shop I've seen in Thailand. You could spend hours relaxing there. There's lots of really nice places to find there.
  20. That's a man who knows his Kalasin. My kids were born in the red cross hospital there and they were nothing short of superb. It's not to everyone's taste granted, but there is a charm to small towns like this that many of us would favour over the hustle and bustle of bigger towns. Immigration is different gravy up there too. No grief, helpful staff and none of the anxiety I get upon entering the same in Bangkok or Chonburi. I'd be surprised to see an airport open tbh but if it did I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for a break from the norm.
  21. Food from Kalasin and Isan, as well as other regions of Thailand. They used to have an Indian restaurant which was sublime, but sadly closed. Never going to be popular with the locals but it was superb. I think they're in KK now.
  22. Are you talking about foreign parents taking kids out of any country of their birth without the parent who is from that country? I.e. a foreign dad taking his kid out of Thailand without the Thai mum? I'm not talking about the native parent. I haven't said I'm targeted or frustrated with the policy. I'm in favour of there being strict guidelines. I've said that clearly in my post. You said western countries make a fuss, not Thailand. I defended any country checking and don't class it as "fuss". My point is that Thailand do question you, that's from experience not heresy. I think you're trying to sway what I'm saying into me claiming to be a victim. I have never said I was targeted nor frustrated. I said their attitude towards the questioning is wrong. You can easily ask questions politely and in a matter of fact manner. On every occasion I visit home it feels like an unnecessary interrogation, especially when my son has countless exit and reentry stamps in his passport that occur on the same dates each year. Your initial post said that your friends said that no evidence is required yet now you say you do have to bring documentation in case they do ask. This proves that you do need evidence and you will potentially be questioned. Essentially, you do need to talk to immigration which is exactly what I said happens, unless you're exceptionally fortunate and only a fool would take a gamble on that. If you're happy to take your chances and try and leave Thailand, unaccompanied, with a half-Thai child, without any documentation then best of luck to you. I know for a fact they ask and once again, I wasn't targeted, they did their jobs as they rightfully should do. Just need to adjust their way of talking to someone who has all the documentation they ask for.
  23. Kalasin is a very warm, welcoming place. It's laid-back, relaxing and full of decent folk that in comparison to the people of BKK and Pattaya, are an attraction in itself. The food is terrific and there is next to no traffic. People are too quick to assume what they know what others want. I visit 2 or 3 times a year for the tranquility, friendliness of the locals, culture from the old Chinese shop fronts and stores and price of living. It's a complete throwback to a time that many people preferred over what the modern world offers. When I'm sitting in a coffee shop up there, overlooking the lake, I honestly couldn't give a monkey's about what's going on in the rest of the world. Some people actually crave that. A very short bike ride out of town takes you through miles of rice fields which are lush green and exceptionally beautiful on the eye. You'll pass friendly locals who all try to say hello or make a conversation. Sounds like an advert for lonely planet but it really is just like this. There is an enormous dam there where people can explore the surrounding forest and find places to swim. If you try it you'll wonder why you havn't heard of it before. It really is that cool. There are increasing numbers of establishments opening out in the sticks which sell food and drinks and offer outdoor resorts where you can swim, take boats or simply hangout by rivers and lakes.i find more things to with my kids there than in Pattaya. Much more places to play outside for sure. Pre COVID there were untold pubs that offered live music and a warm atmosphere. Sadly most have gone but there's a night market with loads of pubs and food on offer plus a foreign restaurant which has been thriving since about 2015 If there's a market out there for both Thais and foreigners alike who are sick to death of the same old tourist areas, traffic, expense, and noise that Thailand's major cities offer, this looks like a good initiative. Add to it the universities in the area who will swap busses for planes. Returning Isanians each holiday who would rather fly than get stuck in dangerous traffic and you've a fair chance at making it work. I'd welcome another province to explore without the need to get anywhere near Thai motorways. I'm all for new projects rather than banging the drum on the same old tried and failed plans.
