Son and Friend Brutally Assault Father Over Drug Money

If you read the link on the first line it says Yaba. The police dont test for cannabis, because it is legal. Although it does make some people paranoid. -
Son and Friend Brutally Assault Father Over Drug Money

Well that is an interesting excuse. I am sure most will agree that if the father can speak the local lingo he will be more aware of education requirements, can speak with his childrens teachers, not rely on others for simple day to day tasks like telling delivery men how to get to the house, etc etc. Nothing to stop you from refraining from using Thai with your children. Most jobs in Thailand dont use English anyway.

Might thought exactly. The OP believes he is smart but after two decades of living here he can not speak or read Thai. Being effectively illiterate and mute, which despite what he thinks he knows, he actually doesnt know much at all. I assume that his wife must be able to speak English, despite her not living in England, but the OP constantly makes references to her being stupid. I think she might be a bit smarter than him and certainly knows what is going on around her. It also occurs to me that he wants his son to get a good paying job and he will be teaching him how to obtain that. If my father could not speak English i cant see how he could have assisted me growing up. Finally, the other three members of the family seem to get along well, so who is really the problem?

After taking a second look, i think you might be right.

Most poor dont even pay income tax in thailand. It doesnt kick in until 150,000 per year and is almost insignificant up to 500,000. It is the hardworking successful people that get lumbered with the tax burden unfortunately. While the bureaucracy is bloated, the workers in it dont get payed high salaries and the users of most services get hit with user pays charges, often under the table to supplement the low incomes paid to the bureaucracy employees. A lot of negative whining on this thread so far to what is excellent news that should be welcomed. Would you prefer a massive deficit like in your home countries? how is that going to help anyone? Smart people the Thais.

Have you considered getting a job? -
Yes or black banning for life. From his FB it appears his father lives in Pattaya. He is a regular visitor. Black banning him might be effective. Make him think before wrecking someones business.

If a Thai citizen gets married to a UK citizen for a few years
Goat replied to hydraides's topic in Marriage and Divorce
Sounds like a bit of a nightmare, and a lot worse if you dont want to marry a Brit. Reminds me how easy they make it for us farangs to move here permanately with so many options. Just buy a plane ticket, no visa required initially, then apply for one of the many options. ED, Marriage, Retirement, Elite etc etc. Just fill out a few simple forms, deposit some cash to ensure you can afford to stay, take a couple of photos of yourself, a couple of passport copies and pop into your local immigration office once a year, (of which there is at least one in every province) and you are all good to go. Or even just border runs up to a point. Too easy. Very kind and easy going people the thais. i am never going back. -
Climate Change May Have Caused Deadly Chumphon Plankton Bloom
Goat replied to webfact's topic in Southern Thailand News
I think I will listen to the scientists. The deniers have been denying for 30 years now, just changing their angles as the increased floods, bushfires, droughts and record temperatures etc that the scientists told us would happen back then actually did happen as predicted, more often and more severe. It surprises me how some deniers are still denying. Anyway...Whether it’s Australia and places like the Great Barrier Reef or even places around England which are experiencing quite bad marine heatwaves at the moment, it’s really going to be detrimental to those local ecosystems. Various natural phenomena, such as coral bleaching or plankton bloom, have naturally occurred for thousands to tens of thousands of years. However, when global warming occurs, it intensifies and increases the frequency of existing phenomena. -
But the thai government generously recognised the situation and introduced Covid visas. The Australian government just told everyone to leave. https://www.smh.com.au/politics/federal/go-home-scott-morrison-tells-international-visitors-20200403-p54gu2.html Nice people the Thais. Sensible and good hearted.

UK and US advocate development of LGBTQ+ rights in Thailand
Goat replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
In the US and UK both sides of this "debate" are going over the top. Thailand handles it better. If a man wants to make sweet tender passionate love with another man, it really has nothing to do with me. Go for for it mate. Just dont make too big a deal about it. -
Well, unlike me Mike, it seems you have never helped out any of the volenteers that are called out every night of the year to help clean up the injured and dead foreigners. If you had you might rethink your attitude. they pay for fuel, vehicles etc etc and donate their own time and foreigners almost never thank them assuming that it is all paid for by the "government". They have better things to do than to mop up after foreign idiots with no respect.
