  1. OP (& Clokwise), I live in SanSai (Nong Harn) in Land and Houses Park. (Off Hwy 1001) It is huge with excellent security, about 6 moobans inside each with their own security apart from the main entrance to the park. There is a clubhouse and swimming pool, gym etc. Mooban Chonlada where I live is extremely quiet and has a lake that you can walk around, basketball court etc. there are at least 10 houses there advertised for sale or rent. Suggest you rent first. There will be more houses available in each mooban. 15 min (4km) to Meechok Plaza and Ruamchok Mall, 25 min to Central Festival (7 km) and Highway 11, 45 min to Maya Mall & Nimman. 1 hr to Night Market or Airport/Central Airport/ CM Immigration. 15 min to Nong Jom intersection (1001 with 121) Good luck. (No roaming dogs but lots of cats) ????
  2. Check this link.. visa type - non immigrant ...requirements section 1, last paragraph. https://www.mfa.go.th/en/publicservice/5d5bcc2615e39c306000a316 Any embassy would do... Get proof of funds and apply from uk, or come in visa on arrival, stick 800k baht in thai bank for 2 months before applying from here. This option is easier...med certificate etc much easier.
  3. Check our Lazada for solar powered ultrasonic pest remover. Pic attached. Good luck.
  4. Yes. As a postgrad student in the UK in the early 70's, I heard a woman screaming for help outside my window. It was just past midnight. I phoned the police, grabbed my nunchaku (fighting sticks linked by a chain) and went downstairs. Found a large well built man beating a female. When confronted, he let go of her and charged towards me, but I avoided his first rush without hitting him. Didn't have to do anything further- just then a patrolman with a dog arrived and a patrol car screamed to a stop. He was drunk and swung at a policeman, but they quickly took him into custody. Very efficient. The woman was his girlfriend, she stayed behind after he was taken away.
  5. At Bangkok Bank, it is possible to have an account with only your name, but your wife's signature is recorded also, so that she can withdraw money on her own as well.
  6. What I have done is 1. make sure that both parties have access via bank book (both signatures recorded) and a single signature needed to withdraw money. (This will become a problem when the book needs to be renewed amd one party is deceased). 2. Although we have only one ATM card, my wife knows the PIN number and can use it. 3. As others have posted, we plan to inform the bank immediately on the death of either of us and set up a new account in the survivors name.

  8. Yes you can use the savings account...get a letter from bank (can take up to one week to get the letter if for one year) prior to renewal to show you have had the funds for the required time. Suggest that on the morning you go to immigration, you add some funds (minimum 2,000 baht) and get the bank book updated.
