Years ago I went there occasionally for a sumptuous brunch. But also to meet nice people for a chat. My experience: The food was quite ok, but the people there were a bit too loud, a bit too narrow minded, a bit too self centered, a bit too much bragging, a bit too just"strange" and exhausting. Too many Americans. Is there any change now? Did someone made friends there? Comments appreciated.👍

My first participation on Thai visa was decades ago. I became a member because of good information about visa related issues but also about life in Thailand. Sure, even at that time I met grumpy, disrespectful members. But in general it was a somehow cultivated Community. I left TV because I had to stay outside Thailand during covid. Nowadays it seems to me there are a lot of people I wouldn't like to meet in person. No further description here. It's obviously fashion to beat someone hateful or to have sovereignty of opinion. It turns into personal animosity. Discussions are rare. It's a black or white thing. No shades. It reflects the MAGA community, separating but not uniting. There are still - the majority- members who like to discuss matters and share experiences. But lack of tolerance is growing I think. It's my personal impression. Maybe I'm wrong, what could be. It's not meant as criticisms but expression of a sometimes sad feeling. I'm open for discussion.

Yes, that's what make us using Aircon. If I live another 10 years it would costs around 600k for 20 kWh, that's 60.000 per year or 5000 per month. My bill using Aircon is around 3500. So no need for any installation unless the Thai govt would give subsidies or AI will make it cheaper.

I'm sorry to hear that. Spain is an option. We went around Spain/Portugal with our Motorhome during Covid. I reckon the North would suit you. The area around Gijon has a lot to offer, also fresh Fish, Wine, chorizo and cakes. The winters are mild and summers mixed

For those who can manage it, contact-lenses might be a way to find out if different lenses are suitable. Didn't work for me. I tried it decades ago in order not to use any glasses. To grab into my eyes fishing for these jelly lenses....nightmare. 😱
