  1. you're right it's 17,900 on notebookspec website I hate when they make it look like you're getting a great deal.
  2. Are local computer stores in Pattaya better than Banana? Maybe Wattana or Tukcom? I'm thinking any laptop I buy is only going to last 2-3 years so it's better to buy on sale lol.
  3. I think you're right. I had an Acer a few years back and it seemed cheaply made. Banana has a light(1.3kg)Asus Vivobook with the same specs for 15,000, down from 19,000.
  4. I'm looking for a light laptop(1.25kg) and this Acer is on sale on Banana for 17,000 baht(down from 26,000 baht). I believe it has backlit keyboard, fingerprint ID. I'm in Pattaya I like to get a good deal but leery about Acer. Any suggestions for a light 14 inch laptop is welcome. Thank you. 5. I just got back from Vietnam it's a huge difference as they are still skinny. Although I did go to a Vietnamese restaurant in Danang and there was this big family get together where I saw the atypical fat uncle constantly stuff food and drink in his face, it was effing funny/hilarious.
  6. I'd like to ride from Pattaya to Ho Chi Minh city but I don't think Vietnam will let me in.
  7. I've got a ADV 160 it's pretty good, perfect for Pattaya traffic but overall not a great scooter as I've ridden my neighbors Forza 350 and that's impressive. What is the Rolls Royce of 350cc scooters to buy in Thailand? I've got a couple of friends that love their Forza 350's. Another guy I know swears the Xmax puts the Forza 350 to shame. I'm looking to upgrade next year.
  8. Aren't most Russians that come to Thailand couples? They fill up the 29sqm condo, spend a little money(x2), and keep very quiet.
  9. I looked at the customer reviews on gsmarena website and the Xiaomi Pad 6 is mostly very positive. I compared to Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE, which is getting outdated. The reviews are mostly "meh".
  10. Yes, I just digged a little deeper it's not worth the risk. I want a 12.4 inch screen but hard to find a good price. Might just buy the 11 inch Xiaomi Pad 6 for 11,000 baht.
  11. I see the Chinese version of Xiaomi pad 6S Pro 12.4(yes, 12.4) is available on some sites here in Thailand. It only works in Chinese and English but not Thai, which will anger my gf. However, the price is so damn cheap I'm really tempted to purchase.
  12. Thanks, looks like you got a good deal. I wonder how the Oppo compares to the similarly priced Xiaomi Pad 6?
  13. I see the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE Plus is now on sale for 20,000 baht. I know Honor and Redmi tablets are cheaper but prob not near the quality of the S9 series
  14. I'm wondering if wage theft is simply slamming the Brits way more than other western countries?
  15. ok I switched to Gboard instead of Samsung typing and it works fine now.
  16. Ok to clarify I have an android phone and when I speak to talk it works pretty good..however, when I end a sentence by saying question mark it types out the word question mark instead of just the ? symbol.
  17. I was struggling in the West then came here and instead of spending 2500 Euros a month I'm now spending about half that. Plus, not having a car saves me even more. I'm really liking the savings here in Thailand.
  18. I rode to Bangkok on my ADV 160 a couple of months ago. I set my nav to "motorcycle" and "no tolls". Going up was a bit dicey the first hour or so as I was nervous, lot's of speeding cars/trucks, and at times I was the only bike so I thought I was on the wrong road. Coming back was a lot easier/faster. Fun factor was very high.
  19. I used vietnamvisacenter.com and applied for 2 day urgent approval letter to get visa upon arrival. 75 USD.
  20. Yes, that's the website I used. Each time my card was rejected I had to completely start over..which was very frustrating.
  21. I decided to join my neighbor on his trip to Vietnam. He's German I'm American. I scheduled my flight and hotel online but deep down I knew I was forgetting something lol. Well, we get to Don Mueng and asked for my Visa, which I didn't have. My German friend did not need a Visa so off he went. I tried to get one online but both my U.S. and Thai cards got rejected. I could pay a higher fee to an agent but I think $105(instead of the normal $25) is too much. I guess I could go to the Vietnamese Embassy in Bangkok but it's a 3 hour drive and they'd probably want me to come back a day or two later I'd also have to pay more $$$ to change my flight and hotel and no I don't get any refunds. My American friend said he went with his Thai gf in Dec and he didn't need a visa but I should have known better in my case. Anyone else have a similar experience?
