  1. Much of Asia has many strikes against kids because there are few proper play / green areas and it's so hot much of the year.

Play areas could be created, times set aside in the morning for national exercise. That would be a great start but ultimately the empty calories must go

In Bangkok it's pretty serious. Years back you'd have confidence the kids would sort themselves out in university. Now, everyone too sedimentary. Lots of fat university students

Sugared, high calorie drinks and snacks everywhere.

Such a shame bc Thai women so lovely when slim.

Its expensive enough if you haven't got 4000 baht,  considering she's facing bankruptcy that is a strong possibility.  For those unfamiliar with the subject of the OP  She is the epitome of the British version of "trailer trash"  the very personification of council estate scum,

However she does actually  deserve some credit,  her "business model" was years ahead of its time. She was a relatively unknown soft porn "model"  calling herself "Jordan" who underwent a ridiculous amount of plastic surgery on her breasts ( 16 operations according to the OP)  in an attempt  to be famous, not sure of the exact statistics but she went from something like a normal 34 c  cup  to something like a 48 gg  and back again , several times !!.

This did gain her some fame but she wasn't satisfied,     Her stroke of genius whether intentional or not, was to  " accidently" allow a video of herself  having sex find its way onto  the internet. Amid the outrage she was taken on board by the british porn industry and became a household name.  There was a cheap perfume released in her name and a range of tacky "lingerie" And she was the subject of a few fly on the wall documentaries, I think she made quite a lot of money. The same business model is still working well for the Kardashian clan.

However it all went predictably wrong in the usual ways,      Toxic relationships , Trips to Rehab , and no doubt some serious financial mismanagement, combined with a basic lack of any real substance in the product itself (her) all synched  together and she was over and forgotten as quickly as her initial rise to fame,  She still manages to get   her face in the papers now and again, normally when she's up on  drink / drug   driving charges,   or appearing at bankruptcy hearings,     and of course , the now rare occasions ,  when she gets her tits out

    Thanks!

So, typical dumpster fire rise to fake fame and short lived fortune due to mishandling of funds because she's as dumb as she looks.

TV brought her on because everyone loves to watch the dumpster burn. That is ...people that still watch television

Can't quite figure why her breasts have been blurred out, but not her face?????

I'd say she's a butterface but I find her entire body ruined with tatts equally unattractive.

How on earth is this woman a thing with her clothes on and five men not tag teaming her?

The boobs are unsightly and dreadfully fake. She needs a nose job not #16 boob job

I am definitely no fan of that Kardashian clan. But some of them are billionaires. So they can't be completely dim.

Sure they can be. You hook into something big out of dumb luck and the corporations that surround you provide support. As you climb you meet people that can help.

Loads of drama in the Kardashian/ Jenner family.

Kardashian was successful lawyer who then worked on OJ Simpson murder trial.

Lots of idiots with money in this world

  5. The outlets should be covered. Outlets placed there for convenience of cleaning crews, vehicle owners to use if needed.

The intention of plugs is was not to charge individual batteries of individual people to be used off premises.

    It's theft.

Actively using electricity, taking electricity is entirely different than indirectly using/not random amenities such as lightning or swimming pool. Moreover, there is tacit approval to maintain the lights, pool for the common good. This determination never made about giving away free electricity - possibly to abnb renters even.

Well I did it at age 68-75 and yes that is old but the kids give you energy and it can be a heck of a lot of fun if you take an hour or so to prepare before you show up....you have to make a fun game out of it and it takes a while to get the super shy kids to try to speak english as their peers will laugh and hoot at them BUT eventually most of the kids do at least give speaking and trying to understand spoken english a try and the ones i dealt with sure seemed to increase their confidence enough to give it a shot....if you do it will likely learn that you are actually more of an entertainer than a teacher so it does take a bit of work to come up with new fun ideas of getting the kids to respond....any expat that hasn't grasped the idea that sanuk is very important part of Thai learning culture should stay home.

Look, this is great for the sticks but it's not going to get a student into medical school or an overseas scholarship.

Speaking is quite important but the first skill most non native users of English will need is reading/writing.

We seemingly have very different perspectives , objectives, students

If someone cannot teach at 55, there's a problem with that individual.  No reason that people cannot teach up until 65, maybe longer.

If the reason is that they have to be super energetic and dance around just to keep the attention of the students, or that the students don't like being around older people, then that's really a problem with the students.  The idea that high school students cannot simply sit and listen to someone talk is simply transferring the problem of limited attention spans and poor discipline.

As long as they have all their marbles and can stay focussed for the duration of the lesson, there's no reason that older people cannot teach.  It's been that way forever in most Western countries and they do just fine.

While you are correct in theory - I find the reality quite different. My uncle was a master teacher and taught writing into his 60s. He played tennis into his 90s. Most Thai teachers for a myriad of reasons are absolutely toast by mid fifties if not earlier.

Most people in general are coasting in their jobs and careers 50+. Many poor and burned out teachers gravitate to high paid, no productivity positions

I do still have energy and some creativity despite my age but I'm nothing like when I was 40.

more flexibility to arrive late, leave early, take long lunch breaks and get paid days off. They are better off than foreign teachers by a long way.

I've always found Thai teachers work much harder than foreign teachers. It's never even been a question.

While I agree about the perks, I disagree on their free time. I've always found that the school over utilizes Thai teachers and drags them into everything. The grading periods end of term Thai teachers far more involved

I agree its sad that a country considers a qualified teacher who is teaching their upcoming generations a less than generous wage.

10 years is a long time with no increase, I know what I would do.

Obviously not qualified if no pay raise in ten years.

I increased my pay 150% over nine years.

I know what I'd do too!! Stop working at that school, get off my lazy ass, retrain and get a real job.

Remember that Thai teachers are making somewhere around 30 to b40,000 depending on where they are in their careers.

I find that most people think that they're qualified do so simply because they've been teaching a number of years. In reality, they are fairly incompetent and really have no idea how to deliver a learning experience in the classroom. Probably lack a work ethic as well.

rarely do they actually practice speaking and listening

Well, as far as listening goes there's YouTube as well as hundreds of other websites. Thousands of movies and series...

Thai accent generally speaking is fine.

They don't need to necessarily speak with those with L1 language abilities - they just need to converse amongst themselves.

The notion that the teacher is the best or sole conduit for speaking/language acquisition is wrong. 1:20-30-40-50 is not a successful ratio

Some of the worst accents outside Philippines coming out of Scotland, N England and pockets of London. Native speakers to model speech can be a poor idea.

They might want to think about increasing the retirement age for teachers. ????‍♂️

Teachers need to go at 55 actually. Most if not all Thai teachers above that age are worthless and spent. I'd say thirty years and out.

Like States, no one wants to teach due to conditions and pay. So, left with lots of gay, lazy, incompetent...

Solution is easy. Overhaul the entire system especially pay, incentive. Introduce university loan payback schemes, perks.

    retired ex pats

The notion people can walk into a classroom and learning happens needs to be shot like the mad dog idea it is.

No clue what they are doing

No energy 60+ to even keep up let alone excel.

Stand on your feet 6 hrs a day?

30k pm most retirees will scoff despite having zero teaching, educational background, experience

I started teaching at 55 retired. It took four years of self training for me to feel comfortable in the classroom.

My experience with most experienced 65yo + teachers is that that the work ethic is generally better than 30+ crowd but the classroom is pretty dire learning experience
