  1. It's now a dystopian fried chicken city centre, most shops are boarded up. The worst place I've been to after Havanna. I wouldn't go to the Middle East or Africa. That's just asking for it.
  2. Just get your blood purified. Like Orlando Bloom. Problem solved.
  3. You'd have to have experienced the difference between good and average bread. He's right, good bread is still good and ready to eat after you defrost it, despite it having been frozen. Whilst average bread is not, it requires 10 minutes in the oven to revive the crust. Obviously all bread can go stale, but not all bread is made equal and some retains its corpus longer than more inferior bread.
  4. You seem to be living in LaLa Land as you are posting an article that says the Dollar had the worst "start" since 1973, however, your thread originally claimed that the US Dollar had made "a new low". Which of course was not the case. The article does not prove you right. You're still wrong. The dollar was far, FAR, lower in 2008. In addition of course you don't provide proper context which would have required you to point out that the Dollar has been on one of the most massive appreciation runs in recent memory just before its recent correction. And in fact that the current drop of the Dollar is by DESGIN as the current administration wants the Dollar to depreciate.
  5. Aldi bread is horrendous. I get bread at L'Opera bakery which makes baguette better than in France. The difference with Big C and even luxury Japanese bakery bread is huge. When I defrost the L'Opera bread it's still firm and crusty, you don't even need to put it in the oven to reheat it. The Big C and Japanese bakery bread is so soft after defrosting you have to put it in the oven to get a crust and revive it.
  6. I am utterly stunned by the shameless manner in which Thai mothers try to extort money from their daughters. I have a similar situation where a mother left a girl to be raised by the grandmother and is now demanding this daughter pay her rent and electricity. And the daughter does it. It's almost unbelievable what goes on here.
  7. Good info. I agree, obviously it's not a stalemate by any stretch of the imagination.
  8. Very sad to see the Ukrainians continue this useless fight which they will clearly lose in due course. Hopefully Russia can capture Pokrovsk soon and end the slaughter.
  9. it's not politically correct to say so, but I've always found all people in SE Asia, with few exceptions, to be somewhat naive, child-like and innocent. A bit like children. Especially the women actually. I find it endearing.
  10. Yet bizarrely petrol prices are the lowest since 2021. Nice bonus for all those travelling for 4th July.
  11. That's as good a name as any. It's quite perplexing. The other day I found myself looking at a photo of a perfectly attractive 20something girl. On paper she had all the attributes I want, beautiful long black hair, slim, pretty face.. Nothing wrong with her at all. But for some reason she just did not do for me, I could not bring myself to pursue her. I just didn't want to. I think first impressions are very real. You really only need seconds to know if she's a candidate or a pass.
  12. Yes, I strongly doubt vaccinations had anything to do with it, clearly the economic disaster that were the lockdowns created the added pressures and higher mental health issues. And yet it is women who have more than double the rate of mental health disorders, so it is not just down to environmental factors, gender clearly pays a far bigger role. It's actually scary if you think 70% of women have mental health issues.
  13. In 1820 the Netherlands had a GDP per capita that was 70% higher than Switzerland's, the rise of Switzerland in economic terms began about 1880. It still took some time though, in 1910 wages in Leipzig were 15% higher than in Switzerland. In terms of GDP per capita Switzerland surpassed the UK in 1920 and the USA in the 1950s. However, in the 1980s, the USA again surpassed Switzerland iin GDP per capita. In fact Switzerland then lost ground in the last 25 years of the 20th century. However, it is undeniable that this small country has been an economic success story. Of course there is not just one factor, but two factos stand out: 1) Strong competition, which resulted in efficiency and innovation and 2) a superb and balanced political system that provided stability. But there are many factors, the small size of Switzerland for instance forced Swiss firms early on to internationalize. Switzerland has been open and international for a long time. The share of foreigners measured as the stock of foreign born residents relative to total population equalled 22 per cent in 2005 which ranks Switzerland in first place. This was of course also helped by Switzerland's geographic location, it was destined to be an international hub. Some of the largest multinationals in Switzerland were founded by immigrants.(e.g., Henri Nestlé, Charles Brown and Walter Boveri). Then there's tax competition between the cantons. There are many reasons for Switzerland's leading economic position. In fact tax is one such reason as well, since Switzerland was one of the original tax havens. Trillions of dollars poured into Switzerland from Germany, UK, middle east and Africa. This led to a massively strong financial sector. Much like the Cayman Islands today are one of the countries with the highest GDP due to their tax haven success. Then there's the effect of the wars. Switzerland was always neutral, but unlike other neutral countries, Switzerland was spared by Germany in WWII. Part of the reason for that was that the Swiss national bank was profiteer, buying looted Nazi Gold and concentration camp gold. The Swiss national bank admitted it made a 20 billion francs profit on those dealings. After wwII most of Europe was destroyed as well, German factories dismantled. This was not the case in Switzerland, which was able to step up production to service the destroyed European economies. In fact the link with Europe's Blue Banana, that corridor that stretches from the UK through Benelux, Switzerland, Germany and northern Italy, was very important. Switzerland benefitted from the many inventions of that corridor and being able to export to this wealthy corridor of Europe. https://www.wider.unu.edu/sites/default/files/RP2009-25.pdf Absolutely normal, in fact if you look at history what the Pound and other currencies have lost since 1880 it is a relatively small loss. Again, the Dollar was on a massive bulll run not so long ago, it is only to be expected that it went down, especially with a president hell-bent on a lower US Dollar.
  14. Yes, luck absolutely plays a role. I was in long term relationships from the age 17 when I had my first serious gf whom I was with for 12 years, to 52, as I: met another girl right after her. If you had told me at 51 that finding a girl suitable for a long term rel is a complex long term process fraught with many obstacles, that is down to luck, I would have cracked a smirk and said, like most guys that got lucky with a long term rel previously "Nah, it's not hard at all". If you just look at the odds though, there are may be 3 million women in my age category, ie the ages I target, in Thailand. Of those 300,000 will have the physical attributes that I like. Based on cold approach data, 150,000 of those will have a boyfriend, in fact only 60,000 will be interested me, best case scenario. Of those maybe 6000 will have the character attributes I seek and will have real chemistry with me. So, yes locating one of those 6000 women has something to do with luck for sure. But it also has a lot to do with what I do. If I write to certain amount of girls on apps like TF, Insta, Bumble, etc that will increase my oddds, it will get me dates, and I will meet some of girls possibly. If I go out the house and talk to women, again, that will increase my odds, and help me meet some of those girls. So to an extent, I make my own luck. I: can make it happen or not make it happen. Smart guys like Michael Jordan will tell you: "I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. Twenty-six times I’ve been trusted to take the game-winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." It's the same with dating. If you work on your physical appearance, if you go out and cold approach thousands of girls unsuccessfully, if you write to thousands of girls on the apps unsuccessfully, all those things will help you succeed eventually. Or not. But you certainly make your own luck to some degree.
  15. Nothing wrong at all, as has been said upthread already, the current president has decided he wants a lower Dollar. Plus the Dollar, not so long ago was on a major bull run. It's perfectly normal that it would go down. If you look at the all time US Dollar Index, you will see the Dollar has been much lower, and the current movement is perfectly normal.
  16. Don't believe her, I see plenty of girls like that on Bumble. Not TF, but Bumble has them. Yes, going out has a price, I guess you can keep costs down in some ways, but ultimately living a life outside the house will always cost money. You are on a very good path though, if anyone can succeed, I think it's you.
  17. I'm convinced the number of women who truly reach those parts other women cannot reach, ie those girls who truly connect with you not just on the physical, sexual level, but also on an emotional and intellectual level, that number is very small. Maybe 5 or so per decade. That's what makes the search so complex. Not saying you can't be with a girl and 3 months later jump face first into a rel with a great woman, that does happen, but on the whole, women you really connect with are rare. There's many good looking women, but those who really tick your physical box, your emotional box, and your intellectual box, they're few and far between. I agree that looks is not enough, they have to fulfill other strong preferences. For me it's quirkiness, mystery and interest, if she wears a raspberry beret, I'm likely more interested than if she has a degree from the Sorbonne. The other is "can she be led, does she want to be led"? Some women today don't want to be housewives, don't want to submit to a man in any way. That doesn't work for me. Good luck with the Vegas girl, she sounds good.
  18. Exactly. Plus the Dollar was on a massive bull run fairly recently, it was only natural that it would go down.
  19. As am I an admirer of your no-nonsense approach. And of course wishing you that you succeed. This is great stuff, exactly what you need to do, get out and about. Sitting at home watching TV would be the worst you could do. No woman will fall from the sky to sit on your sofa. You have to make it happen. You get it. Something much easier to do in person, and exactly what you have to do. Again, you get it. Perfect. This vibe will greatly help you when you interact with women. Well, naturally the vast majority of cold approaches will end in rejection, that's perfectly normal. But 99 percent is too high. More like 80 to 85 percent. The trick is not to take it personally. Humour would actually be good strategy, but it's hard to do with Chinese and Thai due to the language issue. No, you have to make it happen. Those guys who claim on dating apps too you should just write to girls who text you don't know what they're talking about. Most of my dates come from girls that I first write to, not those who text me first. You have to make it happen. If you interrupt their record shopping or lunch, so be it.
  20. The paper says it was exacerbated by Covid, so it has something to do with it. But yes, as per the chart I posted above, the rates have gone up for 3 decades, roughly since the internet and mobile phone were popularised.
  21. Yah, it's really strange, sometimes a perfectly good looking woman, who seems to fulfill all the criteria aesthetically, just doesn't do it for me. Very odd. It really is a mystery, you only need to look 5 seconds and you know if she's a prospect.
  22. No it hasn't, stop posting lies and misinformation. As you can see here the dollar is not at a new low, far from it. Kindly stop posting outright lies.
  23. It's Thailand, you can get a housekeeper for 700 baht a day. And you don't need to feed her.
  24. I'm not sure but I think I read somewhere that you have to chastise according to certain rules. As to those women on whose part ye fear disloyalty and ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (Next), refuse to share their beds, (And last) beat them (lightly); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them Means (of annoyance): For Allah is Most High, great (above you all). https://www.brandeis.edu/projects/fse/muslim/translation.html#:~:text=As to those women on,great (above you all). So you can't just go mental on the biatch.
  25. I don't like the head scarves though. And that wailing form the mosques every 3 hours, it's just so over the top. When I was staying in KL, it was not a good experience. But the substantive parts of Sharia, I have to say, make a lot of sense.
