  1. Yah me too. I was at a restaurant when this obnoxious older German came in. This was a top quality restaurant with Royal Balinese food and this old German in a wheelchair loudly demanded "Pfifferlinge, no I want Pfifferlinge". He called for other staff and the manager asking for this nonsense instead of what was on the menu. Clearly he just wanted to abuse people. It ruined my romantic dinner and I was livid. I went to over to him and told him "Listen, either you shut up or I'll make you shut up". He was quite after that.
  2. So I went to meet Mon, we agreed on 2.30 pm. I hit traffic and parking problems and arrived a full 20 minutes late. When I saw Mon I was taken aback. This was the first time a girl looked way better in real life than on her photos. A 27 year old beautiful woman, lovely hair (obviously was at the salon), flawless face, she was at least a 7.5, if not an outright 8. Clearly, she was not happy I was 20 minutes late. I apologised and she was very cool about it, but I could tell she had been waiting a long time. Not a great start. She said she wanted to go eat something, so we hit a restaurant. The food was good and she was as charming as can be. It went well. But she had told me from the outset she had to meet her friends. Only 90 minutes was allocated to us. A very nice convo. Then we went to pay. The place did not accept credit card, and I had forgotten to transfer money to my Thai bank account and had 245 Baht on there for scan. I asked her if she had 200 Baht. She asked why. I explained. The embarassment. What a fail on my part. First 20 minutes late, then had to borrow 200 baht to pay the lunch. And she was outstanding. Beautiful, charming and a business owner. She'd travelled to Paris, Iceland and Italy. A real quality woman. What a shame. I'll ask for another date in 3 days, but I doubt she'll be up for it.
  3. Wow, where is that?
  4. Whilst I'm neither a "sugar daddy" nor a "sex tourist" you say it like it's a bad thing. In reality you, Marin, are paying for your girl, and have always done so. All men pay for their women. And I can assure you these girs want a lot to do with me. I could show you text messages where they beg for my attention and to spend days with me. But of course being a gentleman I won't do so.
  5. It may be for some girls. But a very large portion of girls have no issue with a 50 year old guy and do fall crazy in love with 50 year old guys. You're absolutely right of course that looks and being on the younger side of 50 do help, as this facilitates genuine attraction. Without that there is very little hope of anything. The girl has to be attracted to you. This need not be for looks, this can be "for a good heart", status, sense of humour and a mix of many other things because attraction is highly subjective. I also strongly agree that sense of dress is incredibly important and key component of the attraction puzzle. I have two dates today, one with a Thai girl and one with a 31 year old Swiss-Japanese tourist who arrived yesterday. I bought new shirts and always make sure to look presentable on dates.
  6. First congratulations on taking a very, very long-sighted view. That's very wise and laudable. Right now I have no issue to go to Pattaya once a year. If in 40 years I do find it a struggle, I'd still do it. What doesn't kill me only makes me stronger. Thailand at any cost. If Donmuang can make it to the USA at 87, I'm pretty sure I can make it to Pattaya.
  7. I was paranoid about this. I told the local Visa associate girl I will come to pick up my passport in person in Pattaya. We exchanged Line details and agreed to meet when the passport was ready. When Immigration finalised the visa/extension in record time I was told "It is done" by Mr Big. Mr Big also told me that my passport had been sent from Pattaya to himself in Bangkok. He had not been informed by the local Visa associate girl in Pattaya that I had arranged with her to pick up my passport in person with her in Pattaya. The Visa Associatge girl, terrified of Mr Big, just sent him the passport. When I contacted her "But we agreed that I pick up the passport" and explained I now had to stay in Bangkok 2 more days (the time it took for the passport to travel from Pattaya to Bangkok) she just replied "We don't trouble with the agency". Mr Big must be a dangerous man. So fast forward 3 days later, it took not one but 3 days for my passport to travel from Pattaya to Bangkok because Visa Associate girl had omitted to put Mr Big's address at the post office. When Mr Big finally received my passport I was already back in CM. Mr Big then arranged for my passport to be dropped by Grab (!) at the reception of a well known hotel where one of my associates then retrieved my passport into safety. I was sweating blood sweat and tears knowing my passport was being sent via Grab and Thai Postal service. I am still amazed it was not lost. If anyone does this, make it very clear to all parties you will pick up the passport from the 1st point of contact to avoid your passport going on a Chevy Chase vacation.
  8. Great to hear these success stories, really appreciate the feedback. Just out of interest, why did you change from marriage visa to retirement visa?
  9. Interesting. It is still a small price to pay if you do it yourself. I think the extension done by the agent will get cheaper than the first application, but it is still going to cost more than a medical certificate.
  10. This is the key point of course. Quite right. It's the magic of sales. Yes 99 will say no, but one will say yes. I am literally amazed at the number of dates and women I can secure a meeting with each week. Simply by putting in the effort, making endless approaches. There's no secret. Anyone can do it. Well not anyone maybe, some guys on here are 98 years old and look like Methusalem's ugly granddad. They have no chance. But most of you normal guys can do it.
  11. You can't order beef in Thailand. You just can't. Pork is fine. Chicken is fine. Beef, no es bueno. Unless you order in a bona fide Steak house, then yes, otherwise, don't order beef steak.
  12. I suggest you try and understand that "these girls" are unkown to you, that I have, repeatedly, met and you have zero clue what they are saying about any man.
  13. Not at all. I'm just relaying real world in the field facts. Since I know the truth I don't need to be concerned if someone on the internet says 24 year old girls are not interested in 50 year old guys. I know for a fact that's wrong, see I have real data.
  14. Unexcusable of course, but Duke's pizza is not bad. These things can happen. I have to say Duke's ribs are not the best in CM by a long shot, but the Pizzas are not bad.
  15. I am 100% confident he can. However, my concern is if he ever retires or his company goes down. Talk about irony.
  16. I rent a car in CM for 8000 Baht a month. I did the maths and with depreciation and running costs it would cost me the same if I bought one. So I will continue to rent. It's convenient, flat battery or tire and the guy comes and fixes it at no charge.
  17. I went to Pattaya because I had iron-clad trust in this agency, because they got me out of a jam before. But I could do either, go to Pattaya again or use CM. I thought Pattaya was cheaper, they charged 35000, but then I had to do a second Pattaya trip that cost 10000 on top, because the Bank changed rules. So not much saving to CM, but I really trust this agent.
  18. Yes it is amazing what you can get in CM these days, but I was just in Bangkok and there is even more choice there. This is why I love Thailand and think it is better than Philippines, Vietnam etc. You can't get there what you can get here.
  19. Let's say the agent goes under, I guess I could just use one of the other agents if I had to extend/renew? I am in Chiang Mai but I applied in Pattaya.
  20. In Chiang Mai if you crave Western bread, ie French Baguette, you are blessed with "L'Opera". They have bread better than in France. If you crave Burgers, "Rock Me Burger" has burgers better than America. Mix Restaurant next to One Nimman has awesome steak, but it costs of course. For quality Chinese Tolou delivers like in the West. At San Kamphaeng walking street on Saturday's you'll get a quality Chicken Doner from a Halal Muslim guy for 60 Baht. Churros too. Why Ribs make superb ribs in Chiang Mai. Rimping Chiang Mai sells good fresh Bagels if you get there on time. Mega Bangna in Bangkok has Shakeshack. Basically you can get anything in Thailand. Just a question of price.
  21. So I followed the advice of the resident visa guru here and obtained a retirement visa. My initial euphoria was that everything was now sorted out. But is this really the case, what problems have you encountered with the retirement visa? I understand it has to be renewed, you have to do 90 days reporting and you need permission to leave and re-enter. I am also concerned if the agency I used goes under or disappears how that will affect things. Anyway, have you found any problems that surprised you with the retirement visa?
  22. It is a fundamental error to assume women and men are the same. Yes, many girls of 24 are interested in guys of 50 years of age. The reason is that women have a different perspective to men. For them things like lifestyle, status and "can this man improve my life" are far more important considerations than anything else. And it just so happens that men of 50 have more status and money than younger men. So yes, I don't just "think" 24 year old grils are interested in 50 year old guys, I KNOW it is the case. Not all of course, some girls will only date guys 35, sure it happens. But a great number of girls in their 20s are happy to get a 50 year old guy. ALL MEN PAY. ALL men exchange resources for sexual opportunity. We need to accept this. This is how the game works. Of course I am fullly aware these girls want a rel with a guy to improve their lifestyle. This is perfectly normal. In that sense all women are hookers, sure. Well, typical behaviour of early 20s girls who want to "explore their options" but this one seems borderline prostitute. I don't take mine out on expensive resorts, or give them diamond bracelets, I've learnt my lesson. You should never do that. That's not true, alas. Take the 711 girl for istance. She was falling in love over Line, then came with the very clear intention of a genuine relationship. And still jumped into bed right away. And came to the hotel room. So one night stands are just as common with 50 year old guys as they are with younger guys, trust me on this. Yes, some girls only do younger guys, but specifically those looking for a genuine relationship will jump into bed with 50 year old guys. Why? Because they know doing that helps to secure the relationship. It's perfectly logical. In as much as girls want to improve their life, and economic situation, you can call all girls hookers, sure, but that misses the point. There is a cold hard distinction between a skank in Nana and a girl who wants a rel with a higher status man. It's just not the same, though there are fundamental underlying similarities. As for them having a Thai or foreign boyfriend, in the case of one I can be sure this is not the case, in the case of others, time will tell, but I would not rely on your guarantees on that. Only one scammed me, Miki, who made me believe we had a 1 year solid relationship. Then lied about having to transfer land in the province, when she in fact went to Phuket for 7 days to <deleted> another guy in a 5 star resort. I mean the audacity is stunning, but clearly she must have been unhappy with the relationship. Most likely because I did not give her money or presents and had to work a lot. She got bored. So she sought adventure or a new rel. I wouldn't call it a scam, I dropped the ball. Yes, she's responsible, but I dropped the ball. I left her alone for 3 weeks while I went abroad for work. Lessons learnt, never do that. They don't shout that at me, I don't give off monger vibes. Maybe I'm too good looking.
