  1. Honestly if you feel that way, why stay? No one is stopping you from going back where you came from. I’m from SEA and trust me many asians in SEA are sick of “white farangs” who behave like they are the superior beings acting entitled and no regards to the law of said country. Do you know white privilege exists so rampantly in Asia? eg given preferential treatment in service industry or having asian women subconsciously think that white males are superior etc. What do you have to say about that? I don’t see farang complaining when they get all these perks while enjoying all these white privileges As soon as things don’t go your way, you whine like a baby.
  2. So glad i did not commit for the Volvo EX30! so many new EVs available next year. Ioniq 5 interest me the most.
  3. These prices are pretty high compared to where I'm from (Singapore)
  4. How many of these issues can be avoided by actually paying for good quality tradesman who knows what they are doing? Not cheap labour that was somehow "recommended" You get what you paid for isnt it? Also if you stay in a small rural town, don't expect to find many qualified tradesman
  5. Thanks for the feedbacks, guess i won't go wrong choosing either the Volvo or the Mazda.
  6. Thanks for your suggestion. I do prefer the form factor of a SUV. Good to know that the Volvo has served you well. So many horror stories of how Volvo's are unreliable (air suspension, T8 engines etc) just made me thinking twice about getting this car.
  7. 2020 used Volvo XC90 T8 (2mil thb+) or Brand new 2023 Mazda CX8 2.2 Diesel XDL (2.1mil THB+) with captains chair? Love the Volvo but have concerns over reliability. Mazda should be more reliable and has very nice interior quality as well. Will mostly be fetching inlaws (max 4-5pax) and going on road/camping trips. Which will you get?
  8. That would bring it up to 1.9mil THB, at this price point, are there any other better options out there? Would the twin motor also incur higher tax/insurance cost etc?
  9. Prospective volvo EX30 owners, What are the trim options you would choose? Core/Ultra Single/Twin Motor? At 1.6mil starting price, looks good for a conti EV.
  10. Went to see some land at Nonthaburi region and was surprised to see land costing between 18-30mil/Rai at locations near the main roads/highways Land that are further in the Soi cost 12-18m/rai. What is going on with these prices? How are locals gonna afford such prices? Am i missing something Asked my in laws and they said most land are passed down from generations to generations when land were dirt cheap. I need 1-2 rai of land for my business and future home and these prices that were quoted while cheaper than what I can get in my home country still sounds excessive in Thailand Are these fair prices for land here or sellers just pricing their land at ridiculous prices while having no intentions to sell hoping a fool will buy it
  11. Much appreciated with all these little bits of info. Helps in giving me a ball park figure on how much I need. Will speak start speaking to contractors/Architect once I've purchased the land. Cheers
  12. Thanks for your insight, where I come from (Singapore) land is scarce and will always appreciate. However seeing that Thailand has a surplus of land, not sure if that will be the case as well.
  13. Basically intending to build a new house on that piece of land that is currently inhabited so it is with electric/water.
  14. Excellent information on this thread. Would also like to gather more information since I'm planning to build my home in the near future (3-5years time). I've attached some sample photos of the kind of design I'm looking to build for my home. Would a 50-70k/sqm guide price for building & hiring of Architect be sufficient? Location will be Nonthaburi region.
  15. Looking at purchasing land at Nonthaburi region. Roughly 1-2 rai My question is do guys forecast land prices to appreciate or depreciate in value in the next few years. I have enough money to purchase the land but not enough for the infrastructure that I want. Will require another 3-5 years before I can save enough cash to start building. Should I purchase the land first or wait 3-5 years before purchasing the land and start building Cheers.
  16. IMHO, not everyone cares about resale values, be it a car or other consumables etc eletronics/watch/camera. Some of us buy things that we actually like and enjoy rather than think about resale value years later, it just defeats the joy of owning something you like. Just get a car within your means that suits your needs, ICE or EV. FYI I'm an EV owner. Shortlisted the BYD but didn't like the "Build Your Dreams" emblem behind the car and chose the Mazda MX-30 instead which suited what I want out of my car.
  17. I am from Singapore and had the intention to import my electric Mazda to Thailand where I plan to retire in 10years time. The car cost almost 5mil THB in Singapore and is only valid for 10years after which I have to either scrap or continue paying a premium to extend the rights for me to drive it for another 10years. ( At current market, another 2.5mil THB to extend) Was considering doing the import route considering how much I already paid for this car, would be a waste to send it to the scrap yard after 10years but from the response here, seems near impossible or at least not financially feasible.
