I don't understand this story. What the presidency of Mr Biden has to do with the recent aggression of dictators ? Could or should he have stopped the aggressive acts ? How ? At the moment the story reads like a justification of the aggressors because they are on the winning hand, have stability in their country, don't need to cope with others opinions, don't need to bother about an election, or an opponent, just kill that opponent, and done. This is what the writer of the article wants to tell us ? Or what ?

Complete nonsense. There was no threat of any western country attacking Russia, neighbouring countries lived in peace, the people of countries like Ukraine COULD VOTE their own government, and THIS was the problem of Mr Putin . Eventually he could fear his people want a free choice as well. The occupation of Ukraine, let's not forget, is just taking another country, as if Myanmar would invade Thailand, claiming they felt a treat coming from Thailand, pure nonsense, a fake excuse.
-
Just remove the word 'Ukraine' and read it like Russia attacking any other country in the world. If you give your blessing to this particular occupation, there will soon be another one, and another one, in particular with such a smart guy stating that security is depending on payment of a Nato bill. You almost invite the agressor to make a next move.

Yes, I think it is much more interested for Thai tax investigators from country Revenue & Customs or Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation Division, to take a closer look at money flow of the Lion owner where his possessions originate from, rather than a breach by transporting an animal. The fines are peanuts for these guys, they laugh about it. It is much more interesting to see the books up to the very root of income, linked activities, companions, scrutinize to the bottom stone.

Mother and daughter injured after wild bull charged their motorcycle
oustaristocrats replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
" There were villagers who shouted at the pair to beware of bulls in the area which were grazing on the side of the road." This sounds like the author want to make a justification for having wild bulls at the road side. The problem is the bulls at the road side, not the people who accidentally didn't hear somebody shouting something. Even a sign with bulls wouldn't be a justification for having free walking bulls near the road. -
Russian upper class take over Phuket properties
oustaristocrats replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
The Thai government always looks to the short time effect, and the property developers of course don't care about the future of the island at all, they can sell NOW, this is what matters to them. One important effect is always forgotten by the ones in charge, Thailand wants to lure more wealthy, at least middle class tourists, because these people have more to spend, sounds logic. However, these people will change there holiday or purchase property plan when they know the island is colonized by Russians and Chinese. They will never come back or go there anymore, not even for a few days. This means the colonization effect will go with tripple speed, you will very rapidly see an island where locals can't afford anything anymore, move out, other nations people will stay away, and Russians (maybe also Chinese) will take over the island. -
Why Chinese tourists snub Thailand: New favourites revealed
oustaristocrats replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Yes, but they do so in Chinese owned guest houses, Chinese owned restaurants, transportation companies with Chinese roots and worse Chinese managed gambling houses. The few independent you mention are backpackers who dare to go alone, they are the exceptions from the thousands and thousands you have seen at Suvarnabhumi airport, you probably remember, one lady, mostly red dress in the front, long flag in the air, then dozens following in a straight line, like in the army. They do need even dare to leave a gap in the row, these people will never go alone. The few backpackers do exist, but they go on a limited budget. -
There is only one interesting question, if one at least is interested how this war could end : are there any Russians opening their mouth, and start to raise questions about this 300.000 death toll and much to come ? Since I wouldn't be able to name one other country (except N-Korea) where the whole population would go on the streets. I understand an angst regime is making people scared, but the radio silence in Russia is almost unbelievable. Also Russians outside their home country could be a bit more loud, I would say. Are there maybe some Russians in this forum who could explain ?

Why Chinese tourists snub Thailand: New favourites revealed
oustaristocrats replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I am sorry to say, but the article's conclusions on Chinese tour operators tending for Chinese Businesses is right, your wife might be an exception. It t was a long lasting observation, made pre-pandemic, and the Chinese won't change when they come back, because it is their genes that Chinese will be first. The 543 billion Baht is not for the local Thai but luxury items, like watches, juwelry, bought taxfree from King Power. For Thai people better 20 Taiwanese tourist than 1 Chinese. Hope Mr Shretta also starts to realize.- 70 replies

4 out of 10 empoverished. And what about their football players ? Will they also be stripped as part of the campaign by Mr Milei ? How can you justify drastic measures by a shock therapy to the ordinary peoply, if you don't confisquate the excessive wealth of these players, albeit only for the sake of fairplay ? One such player can keep 2538 people out of poverty, this is what i call inequality !

Second hand car import / lift of ban
oustaristocrats replied to oustaristocrats's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Please stick to my original ask. I am not interested in import to other countries, I want to know why the Thai government created the ban, and why it is so difficult to lift it again. I read 'linked to wealthy few and corruption" which i also knew, but now there is a new government, don't we expect anything will change ? And are there no forces from those waiting for the ban to be lifted, to bring this topic on the agenda ? -
I am waiting to import my car already for many years since Prayut government raised a ban in 2014 on any 2nd hand car import. My car has right hand steering wheel, is ready to use and in Thailand I always have to rent an expensive car, very bad experiences post pandemic. So my question in this forum. Do we expect Shretta will lift this car import ban soon ? What are the forces behind the scenes which hold such lift, I mean which hurdles Mr Shretta has to take, or is it just his decision?

Analysis The chance of Trump winning another term is very real
oustaristocrats replied to Social Media's topic in World News
No it is not real. Which civilized country would elect a president with such a track record of being involved in legal cases, scandals, manipulation and ignorance of constitution ? Hey, I know the chances are real but I want to know how people can possibly justify this level of wrong doing with all kind reasons full of twists and turns. It's just unbelievable how creative they are to find the justifications against their conscience. -
Why you should never leave a negative hotel review in Thailand
oustaristocrats replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Yes, but the problem of this approach is that the problem is solved for you only. What is the motivation of the General Manager to do better for his hotel, since nothing negative was publicized, nobody else knows what you experienced, the General Manager will be very happy you kept it out of the public. For me, as a new customer I won't have the chance to know what are the real pros and cons of this hotel. -
Yes. I always wonder, why is it is such a problem to be obscure about the name of the likely sponsor ? These names should be mentioned. In many forum topics, we read about brown envelopes, and 'where he gets the money'. Why are we the only ones who raise this query and why we never see an investigation, follow up on these questions ? Are people afraid of something? I thought it is the fundamental of a democracy to get the answers.

Thailand Urged to Increase Economic Cooperation with India
oustaristocrats replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Nothing against trading agreements but I was just hinting at division of world order, countries make a choice which side there're on, who are your friends at the world stage, just remember recent BRICs event, you would need to shake hands with a leader convicted as a war criminal. -

China, Russia, India, what's next. Thailand to join BRICS, team up with Brazil, S-Africa, to make it clear on which side the country -sorry- government, is. -
