  1. Perhaps the slowness has to do with banks becoming digitalised? My bank in Oz has!
  2. Sad really! It just illustrates how positive news gets attacked! It's really a case of bad conscience in the main, makes people who trust no-one feel uncomfortable. Christians in the main practice what Jesus taught - " love your neighbour as yourself "! Imagine what would happen if we all did this, poverty perhaps wouldn't exist. Obviously I applaud that ladies actions - should be more of it! Love to all!
  3. Yes, God created us, He is definitely trustworthy! This world would be a much better place if Adam & Eve had resisted temptation and not sinned. God wouldn't have removed His blessing! With evil entering the world God basically said look what you've done, now your on your own, you betrayed My trust! That's why we are open and vulnerable as non-believers. But you can reverse this by changing from sin and asking Jesus to save you - Romans 10: 9-10. God Bless!
  4. Apostle41. What happened to my reply on behalf of Christianity please? Should join the discussion in all fairness!
  5. One person expounded a sound discussion piece over the question ' what happens when you die?'. I think in order to find the answer to this monumental question one must go back to our very beginning and thereby establish our foundations. Then the question will be do we follow that we were created or do we follow the theory of evolution? As a creationist we acknowledge we were created by a superior force/being. As an evolutionist, (which most ascribe to), we are left swinging, because this vagueness has been drummed into them at school! Yes, I'm a creationist follower, and also a Christian. Look at how our amazing bodies are designed. Had to be a superior intelligence behind such a wonderful design. Then there's our world & planets and how it all functions and comes together so precisely, with perfection, nothing by accident! On the other hand evolution proposes we evolved into a living substance via water, gravitating from a minute speck and after millions of years and amazing transformations, finally emerging as a fully upright walking, intelligent human being? Now if you subscribe to this latter theory I'm thinking you would have a more scientific mind and will consider what it says about life & death. That's is the average life span of a man is just over 70 years and medical science agrees the body being worn out causes our bodily functions to cease, finish, all is dead! Breathing stops, and the heart stops pumping our blood around the body, so our brain ceases to work. Finnito! The End! Now as a Christian, knowing God exists, I realise that we are created with our bodies, then a mind, and then the most important part a Spirit! I know that when my term here on earth comes to an end I have absolutely nothing to fear having dedicated my life to Christ! You see, yes our bodies & minds cease here but our eternal Spirits live on, (Wonderful!), waiting for the day we join Jesus in Heaven to its eternal peace! All suffering being finished as we are provided with our eternal bodies, fresh, healthy, no sickness, fully fit! Amen to that! So readers think upon that. Which would you prefer? Don't leave it until the last minute. Do some investigation now. None of us know when we end our time here on earth - you/I could be run over by a ten ton truck tomorrow. Don't wait lovely people, investigate! God Bless you all!
  6. Apostle41 - Reading these reports emphasises that it depends on the office you go to and their experience dealing with farang licence applications. I first went with my Thai wife to the Chainat office re getting my Thai d/licence. Had paid for Thaivisa to provide the Residential Certificate as proof we are staying with family. Stupidly I handed my IDP card over with photo forgetting the small booklet which came with it, (discovered it in the glove box later), plus my Ozzie d/l current, with photo. Yes, the ladies were not happy re no booklet. But the kicker to me was they said my Ozzie licence didn't say car d/l - I've had a licence and driven a car, buses, m/c's & trucks since a 15yo. What upset them was at 82 I dropped all the other classes to only cover car & motorcycle. My card just says Heavy Vehicle D/L's no mention of car or m/c. So they knocked me back. I'd forgotten to get a doctors clearance so even had they accepted the other I would have missed out. So last Friday I went to the closer town Hankha and got the doctor's cert, great on the way I thought. Forget it. The new office said my IDP wasn't in Thai and now the Resident Cert wasn't enough they wanted the residential yellow book?? We are building a home but that won't start until June by the time its built and a yellow book available, that'll be nearly Christmas I'm guessing. By then I have to get another Doctors check and renew my Ozzie licence. Real simple eh. Thinking I should have paid an agent!
  7. Apostle41. Added to that, in the event of a farang who is married to a Thai national, and has a will legally prepared in English in another country, will it be acceptable in Thailand when the farang dies?
  8. Funny you should bring this up because after waiting over 2 months for a Bible I bought in America to get to me here in Chainat Province the company just reimbursed me, straight away. I asked who to approach re the supplied tracking number and they could tell me, just refunded. Picking this is a regular experience with this country! Apostle 41.
  9. Apostle41 here. Thanks for your positive information. I am here in Chai Nat Province and went there with my Thai wife. Not able to speak the language my wife spoke for me. I've bought an international one but only showed their card, forgetting there is a booklet too. A big problem emerged over my Ozzie one. Because over the years I've had many classes such as being able to drive trucks & buses, the top of my card says Heavy Vehicle drivers licence. The lady said, as I'd only applied for car and motorcycle, your licence doesnt mention it covers a car, just says HR R at the bottom, obviously they hadnt dealt with a farang for this before - this is what I'm assuming. So it didn't happen. I emailed home and they gave me confirmation my licence does cover a car. Because of this they wanted me to stop driving? Without the language it's hard to negotiate!
  10. An Australian travel advice site says that I, being here on a non-immigrant O visa, and possessing a current driving licence from my country, may obtain a Thailand driving licence without requiring to sit your tests (perhaps some reciprocal arrangement between friendly countries? They quoted some authority/legislation dated 1979. Does anyone have knowledge of this please!
