  1. I'm so sick of this victim narrative. It's a pathetic way to excuse failure.
  2. Well, you're essentially saying that it's a European standard that defines the term, which is obviously flawed. "Why argue" the second point? I'll argue your second point because it's equally, obviously flawed and comes from contempt for America. Fair enough, plenty of Americans have similar contempt for Europe.
  3. I'm so sick of this crap. Both sides constantly impeaching members of the other party (or trying to) for purely political theater... Just trying to distract us from the fact that Congress never gets anything done and they have no actual idea how to govern.
  4. I get it -- you don't have much going on in your life so you want to belittle others. Have at it.
  5. I think this is an extremely balanced view of Harris' qualifications. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/07/25/opinion/kamala-nomination-democrats.html
  6. I was speaking of being an actual nominee, but if that makes you happy, enjoy.
  7. Yes, she did. While 73% of her class passed it. But she's 50 points higher IQ than God Himself, so, you know.
  8. Amigo -- between the cost of living in DC and the salaries these people could get in the private sector, these salaries are trash. Truly, they are not an incentive to anyone to stick around.
  9. I've seen you say this a few times. He has already said he'd debate her. And quite honestly, he wins debates. He eviscerated his Republican primary opponents, Biden, and Hillary. Will she "dissect him like a corner at an autopsy"? Maybe, but I doubt it. Much is made of her being a prosecutor previously, but was she good? Will that count? I watched her at a Senate Judicial Committee years ago (2016?): she came in late, chatted loudly and rudely with Corey Booker while her colleagues were holding the hearing, asked three gotcha questions and walked out without listening to the responses. Is this relevant? Not sure... but I was unimpressed with her from that point onward.
  10. suzy is definitely a dude
  11. Wow, still going? OK, but this will be my last comment on it. I don't know about your timeline either way, but to take it at face value, "The Speaker appoints his girlfriend to state boards/well paid post" seems to support what I have been saying. There had to be some sort of payoff to a 30 year old giving bl@wj@bs to a married (if separated) 60 year old. It wasn't for his good looks.
  12. Hello Bob! Looks like we found something to agree on! 🙂 Let's not bring up that other topic 😇
  13. If 1) a man gained his position in politics by sleeping around and 2) he was a candidate for a party that prides itself on the opposite, yes I would. Again, it's true so it's NOT misogyny. If you don't view how she got to where she is, I don't care. But I will argue if you claim it didn't happen. And, again, I don't care about Trump. Vote for Harris, vote for Trump.
  14. Because someone sleeping her way, if not to the top, then to get on the way to the top is an extremely anti-feminist way to get ahead and undermines a key pillar of modern liberalism. To be clear, I'm not running with anything. I only jumped in because I saw an obvious falsehood about her being propagated (honestly, I had never before heard of the Willie Brown thing before this morning, looked into it, and it's almost certainly true). Vote for her if you want, I really don't care.
  15. And where you're wrong is, she did exactly that. It's not misogyny. It's true. Young no-name sleeps with 30-year older power broker and is subsequently appointed to the positions that get her career started. You're really trying to argue she didn't use sex to get ahead? 🤣 If this were a Republican woman you'd be all over this. What's going to be wonderful about this race is it will be Obama 2008/2012 PLUS Hillary 2016 -- liberals and the media allies dutifully reported that EVERY criticism of either candidate was either motivated by racism or sexism... and with a black woman it will be AWESOME. 10 times the fun, Chompy!
  16. Try to pay attention to the argument you think you're responding to.
  17. See my response just above this one and just below yours.
  18. No idea. Don't care. It's not relevant, because I'm not arguing FOR Trump. Try to pay attention to what the arguments actually are here.
  19. Show the misogyny, Chompy. Go on, "give it a try." And I literally said if Trump's sex life is open to criticism, so is hers. Was I misanthropic too? Her having slept with Harris for career advancement is directly relevant, and antithetical, to many liberal core beliefs.
  20. Ah, going for the insult. Stay classy, Walker. Harris flunked her first try at the bar and went to a mediocre law school. I've both met her when she came here to Thailand and attended hearings she participated in when she was still a Senator. She's no Einstein, and certainly not 30 points smarter. And if by "felonista" you're trying to be clever in assuming I support Trump, I don't. 0 for 2 in voting for him thus far and in a few months I'll be 0 for 3.
  21. Misogyny! >>DRINK<< And this was just after you promised you didn't view all criticism as misogyny and racism. I'm so disappointed.
  22. But she was only competitive for those positions based on the foundation Willie, uh, laid for her. Had she NOT been in a "relationship" with him, would she have gone anywhere politically? Would her career have taken a different and much less successful path? Would someone else have gotten those starting positions necessary to get one's foot in the door in local and state politics, and prospered instead of her? All speculation, but it's reasonable to say "probably" to all of it. If Trump's nasty sexual past (both the criminal and simply immoral) is fair game so is hers.
  23. If you left Harris out of it, and simply stated "A young woman with political ambition sleeps with the decades-older political power broker in her state and subsequently is appointed to positions that further her political career" everyone would reasonably assume this unnamed woman did indeed use sex to promote herself. The fact that he, in his scores of years in politics, appointed other people to positions and presumably didn't sleep with them, is NOT a persuasive argument. On the "Did she sleep her way to the top?" issue, I think any reasonable person would say, of course she did, at least partially.
