Literally nothing I can learn from anyone who says something that stupid. Or those who support something that stupid. -

Thai PM Responds to US Visa Ban Uncertainty Amid Uyghur Deportation

You were obviously trying to get a reaction by acting like an idiot online, and you got one, and now you're upset. You seem unaware of how the internet works. -
Thai PM Responds to US Visa Ban Uncertainty Amid Uyghur Deportation
ChicagoExpat replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
These are your claims: The US is a 3rd world country with 3rd world medical care, crime, and infrastructure. You're an idiot. That's my argument, and it's self-evident. If you're ACTUALLY a serious person trying to argue that the United States is a "third world country," go for it. But you're not, you're a clown. -
Thai PM Responds to US Visa Ban Uncertainty Amid Uyghur Deportation
ChicagoExpat replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I know what you mean -- I dumped visiting Australia for the same reason. And haven't been to UK in years -- work takes me to Cairo, Islamabad, etc -- that's enough 3rd world for me, I don't need more in England. Thais, however, are crazy about the U.S. If being banned wasn't an issue for them, there wouldn't be so much speculation in the Thai press. If China announced visa bans, no one would care. -

Yes, all those Uighurs run away and claim asylum because China is such a wonderful place. And millions of people trying to get into America because it's such a terrible place. It's the CCP's upside down world! -

Exactly the opposite -- foreigners use green cards in America. Bob had it exactly right. The Thai elite all line up for visas and green cards, when they can get them. -

Amazing coming from a supporter of the CCP. And of course all the more ironic as these people were deported at the demand of the CCP. -

Wow, did an American take your lolly? Weird amount of hate. -
I was living in Russia when they invaded (3rd time). And I got to see the transparently false justifications for invasion, and talk to friends who knew they were lies but knew they couldn't speak up, and the increasing public propaganda telling Russia this war is the same as the one their grandfathers fought, and the increasing militarism in daily life, and how the government closed down any outlet that did NOT support the invasion, and the paddy wagons lined up in the public spaces to take away anyone who said a word, and the people pushed out of windows and poisoned. Please, continue to lecture me about the realities of Russia and its war. I just can't wait for you to educate me.

Correct -- he didn't wake up one day and decide -- it was a years-long process. You will remember, being a consumer of Russian agitprop, that Russia invaded Ukraine to take Crimea in 2014, with Putin boasting about "his little green men" having taken it without a shot. You will remember that Russia stoked Russia nationalism in Ukraine, arming and training separatists to provoke a conflict. And here we are. Cheers fascist.

Agreed, he's only a month or so in. Maybe things will get better. Here are a few: 1) I think his policy of serving Russia is... shocking beyond words. I can't come up with any non-nefarious explanation for it. 2) I think DOGE is the most moronic approach to reducing government they could have conceived. I think DOGE's shelf life won't extend beyond another month or so -- Musk will quit and then it will fall apart without his personality behind it. 3) Picking fights with countries that have been allies...? 4) Immigration... we'll see but so far I'll say the results are pretty good. Again, flying illegal immigrants home in chains was stupid and immediately set countries against us, and I haven't heard any explanation for using military flights (which cost a lot more than commercial flights, and this really isn't the military's job). 5) One of his problems is his tendency to prize loyalty over competence, which I think in the end hamstrings his agenda. His nominations like Gaetz, Hegseth, Gabbard... wow.

Yes, they were indeed able to read the mood of the nation while Democrats lived in a self-created bubble. As you can tell -- I am no Trump fan. I think he's incompetent, ignorant, and corrupt; one of the ways I'll despise Trump after his term is up is done is because he took a mandate to do some really important things -- rein in illegal immigration, reduce the size of government -- and screw it up. But I certainly am no fan of the Democrats either.

I'm sure the deportation of the Uighurs didn't help the mood down south. -
Thailand Deports Uyghurs Despite International Asylum Offers
ChicagoExpat replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I have no dispute with most of what you wrote. It's just that none of it translates into supporting the claims you made or that these particular Uighurs should have been deported. Recalling the first time I met a Uighur (1992, I believe, when I was living in Los Angeles), she told me that like any persons of religious conviction in China at the time, Uighurs had been severely persecuted for decades under China's official policy of atheism (as were Christians and others). Certainly that didn't help. But to limit ourselves to the discussion at hand, I'd think the main reason China demanded these and previous groups of Uighurs back were (as I mentioned before) they are an embarrassment to the CCP. I won't pretend to speak authoritatively on what may be centuries of grievances that may have nationalist, religious, economic, etc bases. -
Thailand Deports Uyghurs Despite International Asylum Offers
ChicagoExpat replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
You've already claimed these specific Uighurs were criminals and terrorists, and offered no proof of such, and now are claiming simply that any Uighur is a dangerous separatist, any without proof or logic. And by your claim if these Uighurs HAD committed crimes/acts of terror "they aren't allowed to leave the country." Ergo, these specific Uighurs did not commit crimes. But we knew that already, didn't we? Here's the irony -- you're claiming "Uighurs aren't being persecuted for being Uighurs" and yet what you're saying EXACTLY THAT -- that because they are Uighurs, these people are guilty of separatism, crime and violence. So, I'm not "pushing a western MSM narrative". I'm saying other things, though -- that Thailand has a responsibility to investigate the claims of these people of persecution -- of which there IS evidence generally speaking. Thailand didn't. They sent them back at the CCP's demand, because they are an embarrassment to the CCP, who pushes the narrative that somehow they are simultaneously terrorists and privileged beyond Han Chinese. And you somehow not only believe it, you're willing to shill for it to others. Strange that people who have more rights than the dominant Han would rather live in IDC than China. All just part of the conspiracy against poor, misunderstood China, right? -
Thailand Deports Uyghurs Despite International Asylum Offers

That's an absurd requirement to call out Thailand and China on this. How about this, then? "Anyone who refuses to condemn Thailand should go visit Uighur villages in China." Equally dumb. -

ChicagoExpat replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Again, you appear to be unaware of key facts concerning what you're confidently asserting, including the nature of the CCP, and the history of the Uighurs there and the history of the Uighurs who leave China.. Maybe read up a bit (non-CCP sources, this time) and come back later. -
Thailand Deports Uyghurs Despite International Asylum Offers
ChicagoExpat replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Really? China waited years to try and have terrorists -- who have been in custody for more than a decade -- returned to them? You really believe these were criminals and terrorists? No, you know they weren't. What made them "criminals" was embarrassing the CCP. If they were criminals, why was Chinese state TV showing them arrived home, unarrested, in reunions with family members? Come on.
