Santander International
I got the letter and very shocked by it having banked with them for over a decade. I tried to negotiate a reduction in the monthly fee, but they would not budge. Santander has just taken over TSB which gives some insight into the increase, they need to make savings/income to pay for the sale. I may have to pay a few months fee while sorting out another account.

There is no income requirement for the DTV. The priority is the 500K THB in a bank which shows you can live comfortably for 6 -12 months.

5 year multiple entry DTV visa (Destination Thailand) from 2024-xx-xx
Malaysia has a lot of complaints in various FB groups on the DTV process there. Vientiane, PP easier. Jakarta and Taipei are great choices also. Taipei same day approval with docs submitted in the morning. Malaysia requires bank statements stamped by your relative embassy, not needed for other SE Asian Thai embassies.

Cheap houses in Japan
They are not free, free. There are substantial costs involved. I live in Tokyo, and this is a regular topic of discussion. You can get some good bargains but free is not really free.

Cheap houses in Japan
Those houses require major works plus there is substsntial land, house taxes which ends up totalling at least 10x orignal price.
