No it wasn't , some captured Hamas terrorists stated they intended to stay in on the land gained in Israel , the Kibbutz's etc and stay there permanently . Hamas stayed on the land until they got killed , they could have gone back to Gaza on the same morning with their hostages , if the sole intention was to get hostages
