  1. Hezbollah is a terrorist group (google it). They "called off " their attack in Bangkok because they were caught. DUH In the future....

The EU don't call them terrorists. google it.

Hezbollah is a political party and part of the elected government in Lebanon.

They are only called terrorists by very few Nations, less then ten.

if it looks like a duck ,quacks like a duck and walks like a duck ,then as far as i am concerned its a duck ,and duck what the E.U says.

  2. I refuse to go to Nong Nooch as it is one of the very few places that will not give Thai price for Expats.

Did you use the strikethrough font, as you realized that’s not correct? huh.png

I’ve never had any problems getting the local price there when showing my Thai driving license.

Sorry did not mean to use the strike through ,but i have not tried there for a few years ,do they now allow you to get Thai price with your licence ,they never used to ?

At sri racha tiger zoo they even let my daughter her husband and my grandaughter in for Thai price when we took them .

  3. BBC iplayer is easy to watch in Thailand using a proxy. It's even better than live TV as you can choose from any programme over the past week or more.

Yeah but you have to watch it on your computer screen rather than on your TV from your Lazyboy.

Having said that, anyone with a WDTV media player connected to a UK VPN can watch BBC iPlayer on their TVs. Latest documentaries, soaps, drama etc for free AND watch stuff you've downloaded and stored on your hard drive. Truevisions is SO heading for the bin.

I am afraid your right ,just to little to late ,when they cancelled the bbc we all downgraded got off our bums and looked elswhere ,i for one never looked back ,now watch progs that are a couple of days old instead of years old ,and for free.

  4. My sister in law also went to university in Thailand ,she has been stacking shelves in Tesco at night for 4 years in England and loves it . I also had a friend who was married to a girl from a humbler background but she was very attractive ,they split up and she got a job miles away ,she now lives in a big house drives a new BMW and wears the latest fashions , she runs her own buisness and has a lot of female staff ,not sure what they do ,but they do not seem to work long hours.biggrin.png

  5. Why dont you just download them from somewhere like pirate bay ,transfer to a hard drive and plug into your tv ,all the latest bbc progs even the 5 year old stuff on entertainment.?

I tried Pirtate Bay and got loads of virus warning.

I tried BBC iPlayer and everything I tried is only available in the UK (silly really because back in the UK, you can watch everthinbg on the TV)

try uknova lots of programms from last night on brit tv ,also i have only ever got 2 virus warnings from pirate bay, but my anti virus stops all that.

  6. All i can say is that i had four phone calls from the girl at true telling first my wife that we need a new box ,i told her to refuse it as i was happy ,eventually the wife handed the phone to me (the day before xmas) when the girl told me we must have a new box ,as we had guests and i was busy i told her to call back after xmas ,this she did on the monday and said that if we did not take the new hd box we would not be able to get a signal soon ,i then said ok we will have one ,within a couple of hours they were on our doorstep box in hand .

we now have a couple of hd channels ,which i certainly will not pay extra for and the free bbc channels ,which again after the month is up do not require as especially on bbc entertainment the progs are so old ive already downloaded them ages ago. .

We were happy to pay for the platinum package before to get bbc entertainment ,but once they cut it off I like most others i should think looked and found the progs elswhere for free and just downgraded to gold.

it seems just ineficiant to lose your top end of the market client base and then try and get it back when its too late.

  7. Last night I had all four new BBC programs and was like a kid with a new toy.

I was so mad ever since TV dropped BBCE and totally bored with TV.

I'm not a cook but I like food and the Lifestyle channel is fantastic.

BBCE was also good but sore eyes this morning.

I've been out of the UK for over 35 yerars so haven't seen anything.

My Thai wife got excited this morning and switched off Thai Channel 3 to watch The Weakest Link.....

My wife talked to TrueVision and came to the conclusion that Platimum was the best deal if you wanted the A La Carte. Thinkn it's about 300 B more expensive than Gold but the A La Carter costs only 100 B instead of 170 B with Gold. TV also said they would be new programs appearing on Platinum but right now I'm over joyed with the 3 new programs BBCE, Knowledge and Lifestyle. Makes such a change from repeated American movies.

Of course, I'm English so I like quiet plays, documentaries without constant interuptions (upto 30% of viewing time with History Channel) and British comedy. Must be difficult for non-Brits to get used to no advertisements.

  8. BBC knowledge is not bad i must admit ,i see that bbce is free for a month ,looked in, showing my familly ,they were when it went off air ,my wife used to like it in the UK ,we left 6 years ago and i had bought her it on dvd 2 years before that , the other shows that were on i had either downloaded years ago or bought on dvd at tuk com a long time ago.
