  1. She went to high school and worked in her sisters restaurant ,her familly are decent hard working, two of her sisters married into money (thai/chinese) she is 22 years younger than me ,we go everywhere together and have a 17 year old son who will soon go to university. we are happier now than at the start ,it gets better all the time ,i have been married twice before to younger women ,they were good as well.

its just a matter of being with someone who has had a decent upbringing and wants to make it work ,no matter where they or you come from.

  2. When i met my now wife ,she brought her sister to my office ,just to check i was what i said i was ,we then just went out together for one year ,me coming back and for about every 6/8 weeks ,she was late 20s so not a kid ,we did what most adult couples do now 17 years later we are still married she has never had a sick buffalo ,although i did borrow money off her familly ,to save me bringing in too much in one go once .

to be honest its just like any relationship i have had with a western woman.

  3. On Sukhumvit today saw two crashes ,one involving a speeding pick up ,both cars involved in the crashes had Bangkok plates ,and the traffic was bloody awfull ,please floods go down and bangkok people go home. :(

    my cars on bangkok plates

    it does not equate

Did you buy the car in Bangkok,or just want to be "flash" :D

thats why locals get bkk plates according to my wife.

ps ,i am sorry for them but will be glad when they are off home ,especially those next door ,well their dog anyway. :)

actually i bought it in Chang Mai but i had it transferred to a condo address in BKK

it was done to capitalize on the higher prices usually realised by Bangkok registered vehicles when it comes to selling, not to be ''flash''

it was a financial thing not a social thing

however after the floods that may well no longer apply and Chonburi plates may be the most treasured as they are far less likely to have been submarines ...........

Totaly agree with you there ,as there are going to be some very nervous buyers around when the floods have gone away  especially as you say if they have Bangkok plates

  5. I went to BigC Extra today and they had everything I wanted except sugar and tinned milk. Those two products I can buy elsewhere. Prices did seem reasonable too considering.

The local street store nearby has a full stock of sacks of rice again today. The egg lady has plenty of eggs. The rice is still well priced and the eggs have gone up 15 Baht for 10.

I understand Makro is well stocked too but I dislike going in the car.

Local shop selling sugar at old price too so I bought a bag.

My cupboard is far from bare and only at a slightly increased cost.

I did look at the local markets where I would usually buy veg. But when I heard their prices I declined to buy.

Maybe many suppliers are now getting their act together.

Eggs up 15baht for 10? we go to the wholesaler in Naklua eggs up 10 baht for 30 B)

  6. I find it strange that people complain when Pattaya has too few visitors with business down but then complain again when it has many visitors and the town is busy.

I really would like to know in what utopia everyone used to live in before they came here to live.

people who have buisneses complain if there are not enough tourists ,residents with no buisness interests complain if there are to many tourists ,is that simple enough for you?

  7. Speaking for hua Hin the town is full of people fleeing BKK, traffic is horrendous, stores half empty of products and TAT think we should encourage farang tourist to come here ???? they really are a joke LOL land of miricles.

    The same in Pattaya.

With knobs on ,Roads packed every day stores without anything to buy,its bad enough for the locals ,who would want to be on holiday.

  8. I suppose it just depends on the sort of Thai people you know ,marry and mix with ,my wife always gives me a card with something loving written in it ,and a gift ,our landlady and the neighbours always bring a cake ,decent people ,also my wifes sisters always get me a christmas present.

  9. I presume what will happen is the same as happened in my firm when the minimum wage came in ,we lost contracts as we increased prices ,we sacked loads of staff to compensate and then carried on ,in our case the social security picked up the tab for the workers thrown out of a job . here in Thailand i suppose it will mean more people out looking through the bins for plastic bottles

  10. It's really a slur on the husband - the implication being that she only married him to escape poverty in Thailand. Men with "Thai brides" are rarely respected unless it's shown theirs is a genuine marriage. It's always assumed it's not.

Doesnt it depend on the man in question and the woman ,you see holidaymakers come over here meet a girl in a bar fall madly in love and take her home ,its obvious to everyone what she was by her manner of dress and the men are often no better .

but on the other hand if you are articulate ,your wife dresses modestly and is obviously educated i find that you are treated entirely differently by both Thai people and British alike.
