  1. Boy fall for simple girl.

Family want 15k a month to help out family.

Mom and pop and 3 kids.

Im ok with 10k a month, am i being reasonable or not?

i do not want to appear rude, but i give my wifes familly nothing ,i did not buy or rent her she is my wife .occasionally her brother asks for "a loan" and she politely tells him to go forth and multiply ,or get a decent job.

  2. COME TO THAILAND ,THE LAND OF YOUR DREAMS ----AND SIT AROUND WATCHING TV RECORDING PROGS THAT ARE REPEATED SO MANY TIMES ITS HARDLY WORTH EVEN PAYING FOR THE CRAP THEY PUT ON.

COME ON LADS DONT BE SO SAD.

ALSO WHAT ABOUT ALL THESE EXTRA CHANNELS THEY KEEP ADVERTISING THE LATEST STUFF ON DO YOU NOW HAVE TO PAY EXTRA FOR THEM?

  3. after being an agent for many years in the uk and having agent friends here, i wouldnt buy a house in Pattaya under any circumstances, far better to rent ,i have a large detached 3 bed 3 bath house nice garden 28000 b a month ,when i die my wife and son will leave and build a house where she wants(not pattaya) she knows she couldnt sell it :o

at the end of the day ,as the thai ladies say---up to you, but thats my many years of experiance talking.

  4. to be honest ,pattaya is one of the only places where there are vast amounts of propertys for sale and very high prices, its no wonder so little sells ,the houses on our estate have been for sale for so long some are ready to fall down.

  5. I have not lost a friend to Death in Pattaya, but i certainly lost what i thought was a good friend due to stealing from me. I considered this person to be a very close friend for a long time, until they slept at my house, and when i was sleeping, they ransacked my house and stole 6 Baht of gold, my Camera and other items, then completely vanished - never to be seen again. I consider that I did in fact lose a friend in Pattaya.

i also lost a friend in Pattaya ,but not through death ,in short i had found a woman to do his interior decorating ,i was to recieve a commision ,which she did not want to pay ,so lied to him about me. i could prove the lies and was about to ,in fact i had written to him but was stopped by my wife from sending it ,as she said "if he was really your friend he would believe you ,not some stranger working for him who he hardly knows , its him thats lost a friend ,not you" very wise these thai women.

If he was your friend, why on earth would you wish to take a commission form someone who you found to do work for him?

I find this business of taking commissions when helping 'friends' as one of the most deplorable facets of farang behaviour in Thailand.

Would you do such a thing in your home country? Never!

A true friend would have either persuaded the service provideor to reduce the price in lieu of commission, or would have told the friend up front that a commission was being paid and then handed the money over to the friend who paid for the job.

I just don't get this business of making money out of helping friends.

In my book it is disgusting. :o

well .sunshine i had turned down money from the friend already ,it was the woman decorator that went back on her word ,ran two to three months over, lied to the client that the property was finished and then didnt finish all the work ,its when buisness people here do the dirty i find disgusting .

  7. A friend of mine is searching for 'duck down' pillows. He's sure that they'll cure his insomnia (although I've suggested visiting the Expats Club instead).

Would be grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction before he drives me quackers. Many thanks.

its the only sort of pillow i can sleep properly on ,got mine at big c ,but they only seem to keep one in stock at a time as they are about 1800 baht, the girl did a double take at the price and asked if i still wanted it.

  8. Today I went to carrefour pattaya for shopping and among the items I bought were some bananas wich were priced at 29 baht.At the check out however they charged 54 baht, which I noticed before the total was calculated and notified the cashier. After some discussion they agreed that they priced the item wrong and agreed to correct the price to 29 baht with which I was satisfied.Next a superior to the cashier made a recalled sales bill on which the bananas were charged 29 baht and I paid the grand total. While I was walking to the car I checked the bill again and noticed that instead of correcting the price on the bill they just added the 29 baht to the total. So at that time Carrefour was actually stealing 54 baht from me.I went back to the cashier who called that same superior again and they wanted to give me back 54 baht. However at that time I wasn't satisfied anymore with the practices and asked to speak with the manager. They lead me to the customer service where I spoke with another thai lady and who I aked to getthe item free this time but the only thing they offered was giving me back 54 baht.I told them that by charging me for an item I didn't buy (there were 2 times bananas on the bill ) they had stolen money from me.

They simply said it was a mistake and no further compensation would be made.

I agree the wrong pricing was a mistake but charging for an item which you don't buy is is a criminal offence.

I know this is all about peanuts but it is the principle that counts.

If I was to take an 54 baht item from carrefour without paying for it,carrefour would sure call the police which would result in a police report and probably a courtcase if I won't settle the case.If convicted, even for 54 baht,as a foreigner you will be deported from thailand after a few days in jail.

So that is why I ask your advice for the next steps to take as I take this offence serious because if you take something from carrefour you are in the wrong but they can do it without any consquences.

a simple mistake, anyone can make them. i suggest you get out more enjoy life.

  9. can anyone recomend a good interior decorating company and those to avoid ,any help appreciated.

How big is the job, house/condo or multiple buildings? Also, what is your interior preference, Thai/European, contemporary/practical modern?

  10. i know the two gentelmen involved, the older accidentally touched another pickup, very minor damage and the other driver not around, they drove off. immediatly they were chased and words were exchanged between the two drivers wherupon the older british driver was pulled from the cab and beaten unconsious, the passanger who had not said a word was also assaulted and needed six stiches. no police follow up and as for the statement that the guys were uncooperative ,its difficult to cooperate while unconcious.

the brave young thais ran away.

both old guys are now ok.

  11. we have a very laud alarm system ,its fitted to all doors and windows ,we activate it when we go to bed and downstairs there is a motion sensor, also have a panic button and signs on all our fences in thai ,english and witha picture of an alarm ,we have never been burgled ,unfortunatly our next door neighbour who is a copper was.but it was far more unfortunate for the burgular as he was unlucky enough to break in when the cop was there, you should have seen his face as he was led out at gunpoint .

but the best bit was when the guards and the security manager were read the riot act ,ever since our guards are super alert.

  14. Around 4am someone tried to jimmy his way into our back door of the new house. When I say new, we have been here just a few days and the bars on the walls were not all in place and the back door bar was not yet hung in the frame. "Tomorrow" we have been told for about 2 weeks now on this.

I was still awake and heard the noise, woke up and turned on the light. The noise stopped and 20 seconds later we heard a motobike start up and drive off. The police were called and of course as suspected were of no help at all.

My lady believes the crook was probably one of the boys who have delivered something to the house, the beds, desks, TV or what have you. She is probably right.

So my question is, besides the bars everywhere, which if you ask me are just monkey bars that help them to climb over, what are you doing to protect your home?

A second question is, what happens legally if a Thai gets injured breaking into your home, be it on his own or per something I put there to help protect my property?

    Thanks all.

we have an alarm system on all doors and windows, with signs in thai ,english and a picture on the house, its only gone of twice once when our son forgot the alarm code and once when i opened a window at night by accident without turning off the dam thing ,oh there is a motion sensor in the living room .the blooming thing is so loud that when my son set it off we had people from bangkok standing by the gates.

the other thing is we have a copper next door ,the unlucky burgular who broke into his house was escorted out at gunpoint .the guy came on a motorbike .funny thing is its still next door, wonder why?

  15. The pc wont start anymore, probably the power units is fuc_ked with all the electric up and down in the wonderful city. Anyone can recommend a good PC technician in TUCOM or other place? Trustful and fast service needed, as that comp is used for work. Thanks for your input.

pattaya2u excelent ,never had a problem and cheap ,also i didnt join yesterday.

  16. If you want quality there is only one choise, Liberty Computers

    http://www.liberty-computers.com/

We get our 16 computers repaired there and we never had any problems. They do great work and keep their agreements and deadlines (something you normally never find with Thais). Yes they are more expensive than anyone else, but once you had some amateur garage company mess up your PC, you won’t mind paying for super quality and service.

Give them a call and ask for Steve.

    Tel. 038-360400

i tried liberty computers for my printer, cost a fortune and never worked properly.

pattaya2u in tuk dotcom 1st class ,cheap ,friendly and repairs always done properly.
