  1. my wife my 14 year old son and i live near cholchan and the fly now outlet mall on sukhumvit north pattaya,my lad goes to assumption college in sri racha ,a fantastic school he speaks thai and english as your kids will long before you!

i wouldnt buy anything for at least a year, not untill you are sure where you want to live and if you want to buy.

your children will have no dealings with bars as wont you ,if you live in a nice area ,no need to go there,if your worried about crime get an alarm system and put a notice saying you have one ,any burgaler will go elswhere.

pattaya is a great place for your familly, just pick the right area to live ,where we are is great loads of children who go to the same sort of schools and nice middle class thais and farangs.

  2. And who had the bright idea to do renovations in the top of the high season? Half of Carrefour empty shelves, too hot, long queues at the checkout. Foodland must be laughing all the way to the bank.

Foodland is a shining beacon in an otherwise dull group. When you ask for help, you get it. When you speak to someone there, they are pleasant. They move you out fast and one thing I've noticed about Foodland that I have not seen in any other store - Villa - Carrefour - etc ..

No one follows you around to see if you are stealing anything.

And at foodland most of the employees understand english.I still have to find the first employee at carrefour that understand a few words english.

  3. if you would like a good agent,p p a on www.pattayapropertyagents.com and speak to michael, say geoff recomended you ,he was very honest.

but as others have said ,i wouldnt buy untill you are really sure you know where and if you want to.

as for living in pattaya ,dont listen to the its all bars crowd,if you live here with your familly you dont have to frequent them. also a good school is assumption in sri racha.

  4. Yes I have noticed the temperature in there lately, their cutting back on air its a shame their not cutting back a little on their prices.

But the worst thing is the lack of people on the check outs, a shop full of people or a half empty shop but the same amount of check outs open ?

it was about 4.30 that we were in there,i also noticed that lots of people were dumping their shopping at the checkouts as well.we spend about 2500 bhat a week on shopping . never again at carrfour ,are you listening carrfour?

  5. People show up at immigration dressed like bums for the same reason they show up at the Grand Palace dressed like bums because they have no respect for themselves or the Thai people.

it could be that they are just bums,i have ceased being amazed at the way some guys dress here 50plus with ponytales ,great with a bald spot, tattoes all over singlet and shorts with sandles and black socks.

god what the locals must think.

my wife complains if i dont tuck my shirt in :o

  6. it is a bit warm, for the time of year.but global warming, what a load of crap, only twenty years ago i remember being told by the experts that a new ice age was on the way.

mind you when the cavemen were around it must have been all the fires that they lit changed the climate then.

  7. if you have a driving licence only you will have to take the written test, you need an international licence to do the shortened version.

this is simple ,but as said before take a thai with you.

  8. been eating off street carts for 17 years ,never any problem, only twice been ill ,both times in falang restaurants.

any time i get the runs i use ercfuryl get it from farcino its fantastic even if it is french!!!

  9. on our estate one house in particular has been for sale for 4 years ,at 15.50 mill 14.00 mill now 10.00 mill ,we in fact pay the gardeners to keep it neat !! you could put it up at 5.00 mill and it still wouldnt sell, and believe me its a big house ,its also not the only one for sale ,nothing has sold for years.

  10. Surfing around the internet I found a mention of the Welsh society of Pattaya that I guess used to meet at The Prince of Wales Pub in Soi Khao Noi.

Does anyone know if this pub is still around, it's website is still online at http://www.geocities.com/princeofwalespattaya/

but I have driven up and down the soi and can't find this pub.

Also anybody know if the Welsh Society is still going and if so where do they meet up ? I have been in Pattaya for 2 years and I can't say I've bumped into any fellow Welshmen who live here though I have met quite a few Welsh tourists.

    Iechyd da a cwrw braf.

    ime here boyo.

    iechyd da.

  11. I do not know through what part of his anatomy speaks the gentleman living in Suwattana Garden, but his assertion that nearly 50% of the properties in that excellent estate are up for sale. As I myself have a property there, I took the trouble to go and check his information. There are 148 houses on the estate. Of these 17 are up for sale of which a few are up for sale or rent. 17 out of 148 represents about 11%, not 50%. AS for the rest of his remarks, I do not entirely disagree. With every Tom, Dick or Harry with a few Tarang Wah of land, hoping, or in the process of building something on which they hope to retire and live for ever, many are going to catch, not so much a cold as Asian Flu. I would recommend anyone to buy on an already developed estate. where all the teething troubles have been sorted out, and not find out the hard way the drawbacks that await.

with regard to this estate, fine as it is ,two years ago we offered 30,000 bhat a month for a property advertised at 50000 ,we were turned down ,two years later it is still empty ,since then we have rented a larger house for 30k which as i have signed a new contract has been reduced to 28000, on driving around said estate most of the houses we saw empty 2 years ago still are.

i also have a friend who is an estate agent and he has not sold a house for at least a year ,although condos do sell,

  12. Depends on the medication - but if it is prescription drugs, check with a local doctor. Also check local availability and prices.

Do NOT try mailing medication - the Thai authorities have jumped on several people for this.

Your condo or house will almost certainly have a mail-receiving facility.

Do not send anything valuable by mail - it will get lost. On the other hand DHL and similar couriers are very good, if expensive. But they will not carry cash. Don't know about medication, but as the things are Customs checked, not worth the risk.

    just to clarify

my daughter has been sending my heart medication prescription for years ,i didnt realise it was not allowed?

  13. yes you can see it on the internet, load of old rubbish ,put out by a couple of teenagers . if the american govt couldnt even cover up the fact that their president got a blow job from a secretary how in the hel_l could they cover this up .

read the popular mechanics debunking of it ,again on the internet.
