  1. Let's do the math with the number of passenger arrivals. This is huge. Is this pure greed? I don't know. But I hope these funds will enable proper maintenance of the walkways. I wonder what the amount of compensation was that the poor woman who had to have her leg amputated at Don Muang a few months ago received. Do the math.
  2. This taxi driver is very disappointing. I would have gotten out of the car and kick this British passport holder's a$$. This country attracts too many people from the lower class. More and more.
  3. I know exactly what happened. His Thai girlfriend pushed him over the edge. Been there, done that.
  4. Considering the number of Russians in Phuket, it's statistically normal to have this kind of thing happen. HOW IS THIS RELEVANT? It's as if news of a pickpocket in the Paris metro made headlines.
  5. Is that news? The quality of journalism in Thailand is just pathetic
  6. Oh there is no racism in Europe? I have been called "Chinetoke" in France all my life. Never really bothered me, as I have a lot of contempt for these people
  7. I doubt that it's to TAT's credit. And the country could do so much better.
  8. Practically every week, it's a new country or religious community that TAT wants to "lure". At this rate, they'll have covered all the countries soon. It gives the illusion that TAT is serving a purpose and justifies their salaries. Why not focus on making this country more welcoming and less of a cesspit that it is? The list is long: the Phuket taxi mafia, various scams, pollution, moronic alcohol sales restrictions, horrible road safety issues, etc.. The entire Covid period was a great opportunity to bring about lasting fundamental changes. Of course nothing has been done. Even the bargirls are quoting absurd prices now. The mere existence of a market indicates a significant level of desperation for sex in Farangland.
  9. LOL! I can visualize the scene perfectly On a flight between Paris and Bangkok, as we were about to land, the flight attendants were serving breakfast. Dawn breaking through the window. Pleasant smell of coffee. An attendant offered a lovely elderly couple seated in front of me, "Omelet or frittata"? The poor couple didn't know what a frittata was, and asked politely, "what?" And the attendant went crazy and screamed in a real soi 6 voice, "FRITTTA!!! FRITTATA!!!!" Wow...
  10. Government to "encourage" Does the government expect that couples will produce babies out of patriotism and national fervor? What do they offer? Certainly not quality education. Let me tell you a story. In 2005, on the radio in Bangkok, they were "ENCOURAGING" motorists not to use their cars one day a week, with very convincing words such as "na krraaaap, na khaaaa " to reduce traffic jams. Out of patriotism, and because I have a big Thai flag hanging in my living room, I stopped using my car on Fridays. After 5 years, I realized that nobody was doing this. Except me. Never on the radio have I heard 'okay, let's stop this program, you can use your car every day now...' And as a result, I started using my car every day of the week again It's kind of the same thing here, isn't it?
  11. I have been a customer for 20 years. I have always been satisfied with SCB But for the past 2-3 years, I have only had negative experiences.
  12. Why are there so often such tragic events in Thailand? If this happens so frequently, whatever the reason, why not impose MUCH higher railings for balcony edges? If this could prevent 50% of accidents, that would already be something.
  13. Marriage is between a man and a woman. Otherwise, call it something else. This is not progress.
  14. Life in Thailand is a blissful experience. It really is. But if something bad happens, you are on your own. Gandhi said “A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members.” This is so true
  15. That's what happens when there is corruption at all levels of society. No culture of responsibility and integrity. Exposing the private data of millions of senior citizens doesn't seem to weigh on some unscrupulous people's conscience.
  16. I've had very little success on dating apps since I uploaded my profile picture. I'll try other sites. Is your site very 'friendly'?
  17. All forms of discrimination are condemnable. The gay community has certainly had more than its share of discrimination. But the sensitivities and preferences of people should be heard. And that includes people who prefer not to have interactions with gay or trans individuals. It is their right, and it is their right to be able to say it. That doesn't necessarily make them haters. Otherwise, wouldn't this be a form of discrimination? It's just that it has shifted sides. Political correctness (in all of its forms) has gone too far.
  18. To negotiate and sit at the same table as animals who kill children, monks, and teachers?
  19. Why two years anyway? this is total BS 9-10 months would be enough. This is the time I did in the French army back in 1993. And it was useful training. Conscripts were not used as slaves This country is so full of sh**t
