Foreign Tourist Assaulted in Phuket Old Town, Prompting Safety Concerns
CCesar replied to Georgealbert's topic in Phuket News
Simply disgusting behavior, but since there are hardly any consequences it certainly will not get better in the future. The law seems to work for the rich only in certain cases, and as a foreigner you cant expect to ever get a fair deal whatsoever. -
Thai Restaurant Industry Faces Crisis as Purchases Plummet by 40%
CCesar replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
We used to eat out plenty, but it is hard to find a restaurant serving quality food without them using unreasonable amounts of MSG. A good enough reason for us to cut down on eating out, besides being ripped off too many times for bad or low quality food and inconsistent service. Pets, open kitchens, poor hygiene and unhealthy environments is another reason for thinking twice before dining out. -

In Europe/ Scandinavia I usually get my yearly check up, which includes a full body skin cancer check done with a blue light mostly, taking less than 5 minutes. I did check with a few clinics, in the Rayong and Pattaya area, but mentioning the blue light, I don't get much of a response, or the "no have" answer. I would like to get a full body skin cancer check up, without being charged a little fortune, since it is really only a matter of minutes. Any serious suggestions or positive experience regarding the subject would be appreciated. I understand that some private hospitals offer scans, but the price is totally unacceptable to me, since it costs only a fraction of the price over in Europe with a familiar and trusted environment.

German Tourist Severely Beaten in Pattaya by Group of 10 Men
CCesar replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Absolute nonsense, 30 or 40 years ago Thais were behaving very differently, and most people living here long term have had their share of experiences, but it has not being reported most of the time, because they all know that it is useless, and little to expect from the law to protect them. -

Doesn't really matter what he did, because it certainly does not justify ganging up on him, but you should never expect a fair fight or reasonable argument. -

Dog Barking Drama: When Neighbourly Conflicts Turn Threatening
CCesar replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I guess you haven't been around Thailand much lately, because Thai take dogs around malls, restaurants and all sorts of other places in baby strollers, all dressed up , certainly many having them in the bedrooms too. Only up north east it seems a little more civilized, where I actually saw signs with no dogs allowed in parks, and I guess places being near Laos keeps the numbers of stray dogs down too. -
Dog Barking Drama: When Neighbourly Conflicts Turn Threatening
CCesar replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Nonsense, its got nothing to do with nasty neighbors, the dog barking issue is pretty much all over and in every village, besides stray animals too. Animals are not to blame, its pure selfishness of people, disrespecting their neighbors. Foreigners and local people alike, which usually can hardly take care of themselves, claiming to be animal lovers, keeping pets prisoners in cages and mostly a rather tiny area around the house. Dogs in the mall, convenient stores, restaurants and so on, it's disgusting and totally unhygienic. Dogs causing accidents chasing people, being bitten or killed, but of course they have been always lovely, harmless little doggies, which have never harmed or annoyed anyone. Will never change unless people will be made responsible, which will most likely not happen in the near future if ever. A little common sense/courtesy would go a long way, but that certainly shouldn't be expected. -
British Couple's Thailand Dream Becomes Legal Nightmare

I totally agree, because once you have investments, it is not all that easy to pack up and go, considering a loss in exchange rates selling, plus starting all over again, especially at retirement age and up. -
