  1. Slow learner is a mild remark. Being in the fifties he might never learn, or only the hard way!
  2. totally agree, and if you haven't figured out life by the time you hit the fifties, it might never happen.
  3. Good for you, sounds all great, and I suppose I should be happy for you, but we all know that life has its own way, and you certainly like to compliment yourself, in order to get your attention, but if that works for you, it is all good I guess. Enjoy life!
  4. Grown up in the western world, I'd say life is what you make it, since we have choices in our society/system. Having lived and travelled in many different countries, I decided to live in a tropical, warmer climate/country, I could financially afford with my Pension, because the rainy, grey and cold days I found depressing at times, plus people living in a warmer climate certainly seemed to be happier in general. Thailand just happened along the way, but is not my favored place, just looked like financially the best option at the time in my case. Would I recommend to move here permanently as a pensioner, depends on what you are looking for, financial situation, health, and life experience, since it can burn a lot of your energy dealing with an unfamiliar culture, especially if you consider yourself a civilized, disciplined individual, because discipline is pretty much non existing. As we get older priorities change of course, and our tolerance is limited according to our energy level. Conclusion: If I could financially afford to live in a western country like US, Australia, or the Mediterranean I certainly would. As an European the Mediterranean might a good solution, since it provides a similar culture, with similar education, decent, affordable, EU health cover, and a environment where I am understood, because of our western education and values, feel protected by the law and not by my financial status, at least to a certain extend. It is basically a never-ending list of reasons, but I am still living in Thailand, where I have to ignore certain things like disrespect, discrimination, double pricing, common knowledge, common sense, common courtesy and so on, in order to lead a somewhat happy life, according to my personal circumstances. All of that is of course ONLY MY personal opinion and my life experience on our planet. Think really hard and deep before deciding to move permanently, because a long term visits might change your mind, and be a better solution to start with!
  5. I agree, searching for all kinds of information regarding ischemic stroke. Communicating with other stroke patients, getting information wherever I can, learning and trying to improve my condition. Information is always appreciated.
  6. Have another appointment end of August, and always try to get more information, but to get a straight answer doesn't always seem that easy . One Doctor told me that foreigners want to know everything, having a lots of questions, while the local people were much more easy. Questions are not always appreciated, and often ignored, but that is according to my personal experience.
  7. So far never below 95%
  8. I don't think that I am depressed, but feeling tired and being low on energy certainly doesn't help in my daily routine. Did my last CBC blood test at the Queen Sirikit Hospital in Sattahip, where I am seeing a GP since March 2024. Atorvastatin I have been taking since my stroke in 2024, but reduced from 40mg to 20 mg since January this year, because the Neurologist I saw in Khon Kaen thought that there was no need to take all the meds I was prescribed in Pattaya .
  9. I meant more like overall fatigue, besides losing a little weight even though I am eating regularly. I have a blood count done every 3 month, which seems to look ok. Medication I am taking baby aspirins 81mg daily, instead of Rivaroxaban 20mg, which I was prescribed by my first Neurologist, also taking Atorvastatin 20mg before bed, and Vitamin B1-6-12 daily, plus folic acid 5mg. I exercise 4 times a week and live relatively healthy. Tanks you and kind Regards, Chris
  10. Had a stroke almost 2 years ago and did recover rather well in the beginning despite of getting late treatment, considering my circumstances, but lately I feel like losing more energy day by day. I have seen a number of Neurologists around Pattaya, Rayong, and up north east, but still haven't found a Neurologist I feel confident about, since I got many different opinions about medication and follow ups, besides some online information. Found what I thought was an experienced and confident Neurologist in khon Kaen, but it is a long trip for follow ups etc., since I am living in the Rayong area, where I just cant find what I am looking for. I would appreciate any kind of information regarding ischemic stroke and Neurologists near by!
  11. You seem to get carried away with your imagination, or experience on pot. The hippy generation smoking plenty of pot and drinking, didn't have any of those violent side effects, on the contrary.
  12. Absolute nonsense! according to your comment it would be ok for everybody having a stressful time to freak out and behave irresponsible without facing consequences. Just give them a break, right.
  13. Yep, just a nut, using excuses. in the promised land he would be considered a terrorist and dealt with in different ways.
  14. Right, send him back to the promised land.
  15. Had a Stroke about a year ago exactly on my 66 Birthday. Instead of being treated within a few hours, it took days for different reasons. I suppose I should have checked Hospitals nearby for equipment and competence a long time ago, which is basically my fault too, I guess. My advice is to make sure before it happens, because we never know what's around the corner! in a way I was lucky and didn't end up in a wheelchair and recovered rather fast. Been taking Rivaroxan-20mg, one a day, Atorvastatin- 40mg, 1 a day, VitaminB1-6-12, three times a day, and starting off in the morning with 1 Anti ulcerative- 20mg in the morning. My left arm and leg are sort of partially num and have a little pain at times, making me a little clumsy, but manageable. any comments, similar experience and advice welcome.
